  1. It ranges from a convenient entertainment source to a second opportunity. Basically in between RL shenanigans CoH serves as a kind of entertainment layover to me. Not hanging with friends this weekend or waiting on friends to pop by? Boot up CoH and run some radios or an ITF with the fam. As far as a second chance? I get to make builds I never made preshutdown(or made without the ease of IO’ing that we have now) and experience being a broken god which is fun! But whats recently got me was the AE system. I was around from i6 till shutdown and never once did I make an AE arc. I’m making arcs now, with 2 out currently in my sig. AE is also a great tool for aspiring screenwriters in that it lets you kind of get the skeleton of an episode that you can write out later.
  2. I think it would do wonders and save the GMs so much time if there was a post or comment on the literal definition of homage. I think a lot of CoH players who get mad about being genereic’d lack understanding of what the word means, and think recreating superman but making him purple counts as a homage.
  3. The only people on these forums that don’t give me an aneurysm are: Sai, Cranebump, Dacy, Kyksie. The rest of you have got to be actively trying to get me to rip my hair out :P.
  4. What im saying is you may need to adapt and actually...*gasp* LEARN NEW TACTICS :O. I know most CoH players don't have any exposure to any games that require that, trust me, I see the post. But in all seriousness, your only option here is to actually learn how to adapt and get with the meta instead of trying to have the meta slow down for you. It's like the lazy kid with piss poor grades in the class getting mad at the accomplished kid who does their homework and keeps up with the material, then having their parents go to the principle, bitch and moan about how unfair the class is for their precious little child, and how the class should be slowed down to reach their remedial level instead of the kid putting in effort and meeting the class where they are. You CAN view it as me telling you to solo, or you can read what's there and understand you need to adapt and keep up. This class will not be slowed down for you, no matter how many times you try and complain to the principle. But like I said as well, there is content coming where people will linger on mobs a bit longer. I'm excited for it, and I'm sure you will be too. It just may be up your alley if you're willing to give it a shot.
  5. Yeah, a lot of people bitch and moan about “I can’t use my powers because the team is good wah” instead of, oh I dunno, adapting to the team being good and either moving ahead of the team or not trying to use their entire suite of powers on every goddamn mob. Its a situation where you have to adapt instead of trying to get the game curated to your ineptitude. Play better, be better instead of bitching and moaning about how the team is too good and everything should be made either more tedious(not harder. That only comes from mechanics and y’all never suggest mechanics) or everyone should be nerfed. /endrant **This rant isnt directed to anyone in particular, more the idea behind the argument of “I never get to use all my powers”. Good news is there IS content coming that outside of HM will have you lingering on mobs longer and have you moving as a team thats actually really fun!
  6. I’d roll back none of the changes. People have lives outside of this game(putting it nicely) and a lot of these changes acknowledge that. And the great part? All of em are optional. I’d say the best thing added was the P2W vendor in general. Very useful and acts as a loot filter for CoH which is very cool!
  7. Oh snap! A former CoH dev! Welcome back and hope to see you around in game
  8. Its not farming, it’s life actually. People are on go constantly, if you go outside and actually interact with people you’ll notice this. That naturally translates to people being on go in games too. Its gotten worse in recent years as people used to be more patient, not so much anymore. Has objectively nothing to do with farming
  9. The good thing is nobody but you agrees with this sentiment, not the devs, certainly not me, no one. But it is alarming to even see this Jack Emmerett crap posted.
  10. Thats very true. To me, when it comes to the devs, the only thing I care about is that sets feel fun and aren’t anemic in numbers. A lot of sets thusly have felt mediocre(new sets) but existing ones have been revamped to feel fun! I provide my feedback as currently im unemployed and have time to do so. I soon won’t be, and thusly will probably scale back significantly my feedback. I used to wig out about the devs not really addressing what I felt was good feedback from others or me at times, but now I kind of don’t care for this reason you listed. If i feel its a trainwreck, it’s their train wreck to deal with. I’ll just pop some popcorn and watch the fireworks. It’s their train wreck, or house or garden or whatever. Give feedback but just enjoy the show. Either it’ll flourish or crash and burn and you’ll get a few good laughs either way
  11. I have so many toons centered around one main toon's overarching story, so for the most part, these toons would be aids in tips or random enemies of various alignment that you would encounter as a rogue's gallery. The main toon in question, Shade of Oshun, would probably be firstly an ally you encounter in a lvl 30 arc of some sort blueside, then as a contact themselves at 50 for some magic themed missions that they'd need help with.
  12. I use it to keep up to date with Closed Beta topics, some RP discords on the off chance I find a good bio or something actually interesting to read, and various SG discords because once I join a discord I usually am too lazy to leave. Honestly, some of 'em I've gone, "How the hell did I end up here again?" and still refuse to leave. I am LA-ZY lol. Discord is...ok. I think I got into it because a few college buddies back when we were all in school got into it for a pathfinder game when we all got sent home for COVID lockdown and just stuck with it from there. Or maybe HC got me into it, I dunno. It IS very annoying to navigate at first, but once you get the hang of things it works itself out. I do recommend a lot of people join the closed beta discord to try and get an inside view of changes coming to CoH and voice your opinions during the shaping stage of a page. Otherwise, eh, you're really only missing cringe memes and painstakingly stupid takes. So basically its like here except the messages are in real time I guess.
  13. Dethrone? Not a chance in hell even if Sleet was gutted. Sleet is just that much better than Tar Patch, and with TP having a whole minute more recharge than sleet, its worse as a pick from a minmax perspective. Overall I like the shield far more than Ice's but the rest of the set's good while Ice, being carried by Sleet, is great.
  14. Its crazy right! Like they’re playing their preferred content. Thats wild innit? /sarcasm. I swear to god I hate this community so much sometimes. Why is it always a big deal when people want to farm?
  15. Eh probably nothing besides using the plague doctor costume piece. The patches aren't worth the attention anymore, what with life and other vastly more important things taking priority. I usually only get excited for new sets, and gradually over a year discover the rest of the page. I'm not excited in any capacity for either arse set, so I'll probably not care much once this page drops.
