  3. I'm confident pvp-only concerns will not hold back an initial deployment of tech that has been begged for literally over a decade. I'm also confident pvp-only concerns will not be completely disregarded for subsequent iteration, where those concerns have merit. I'm further confident that concerns which are not pvp-only but have general merit will not be disregarded simply because they are coming from a pvp-focused player, because pvpers are players too. (and while I am definitely not a pvp player, I think tagging the "lolpvp" label on things is pointlessly d

  5. As someone who plays both Storm Characters and an Energy Blaster - I would love to see some changes made to KB that make it an actual in-game mechanic; as opposed to an instant "slot everything for KD IOs to make it viable". Or the immediate reaction upon seeing a KB powered character "If you don't have KD IOs, we're kicking you". *sighs*

  7. Well thought out Names and or Bios are the things I see and am interested in (even though in HC I seldom bother with actually doing my own Bios. I frequently look for and use lesser known Roman/Greek/Hindi/Norse/etc Gods/Goddesses/Mythology for at least the inspiration of names. And I often use Greek or Pseudo Greek names. And typically the part of character creation that takes longest for me is getting the right name.

  8. Glad to help you. If you select the chest detail type "Over" then you can select a star (I think it is star 2) and it shows up on your vest. Color it appropriately and you have a nice badge for your western marshal (pic 1). But, because it is the chest detail, you cannot have it and a bolo tie. A solution for that is to have your vest open with a bolo tie showing, and using the retro belt with the star belt buckle acting as a badge (pic 2). Of course, as everyone knows, bolo ties were invented in the 1940's and are not period accurate for western marshals. So you should probably just go

However, I too have made a lot of friends doing Really Hard Way runs together - so hard to make a superlative! Perhaps we should just compliment other players while doing badge runs together! πŸ™‚

  10. Which is why, if I make a character that draws from other source material, I'll research that material so that I can create a bio that justifies why the character is in Paragon City's universe and not their own. For example, when I decided to see if I could do a reasonable job creating a draenei in the character creator, I dug into WoW lore wb pages to see where a draenei could reasonably be extracted from that universe and dropped into CoH's, and wrote the bio accordingly. Another character I created, motivated by seeing how certain costume part combinations resembled anime mecha, was named '

Civilian archtype is just typical hardworking or lazy normal npc that somehow gets kidnapped or getting mugged for whatever reasons and occasinally getting into trouble for no reason particular. Inherent : Threat level 0 but gets really high once you run into any nearby hero or ally or friendlies. More friendlies around you more threat level you get up to %10 threat level Power Set 1 : [Placeholder] Slap : Deals minor damage and inflicts humilation status. (Humilation is unique mechanic to Civilian archtype gives damage bonus to foes but also reduces accuracy stacks for maximum 5 times

  15. I"m going to go against the grain and spout my love of Force Field. Its a great set that does two things very well: provide DEFENSE and (and this one all the nay-sayers seem to forget) also provides STATUS PROTECTION. That's right, status protection. Hate being held, stunned or immobilized? I know I do. Hate having to wait until Clarion? Hate not having Clarion when you are exemped? Well, Force Field has your back. And that of your pets, too. Now, you may not like Force Field, but you've really hardly been able to say you've tried it out if you are missing two of its three key powe

  18. As has been brought up before the ultimate meta reality would be people would put pressure on those who do not want to go KD over KB and lead to harassment and black listing, and the creation of such an IO would be seen as tactic permission from the HC devs to behave as such. Its not an equal exchange. KD is seen as stronger from the META group, thus from the meta perspective this would be straight massive power creep. Nor do other sets inherent have a universal reliablity. fir dots for example actually rarely get to be of any meaningful % increase to DPS unless fighting HP punchin

  20. I think the better goal is to improve knockback overall so that it's reliable and has secondary effects like stuns, like others have said. I personally don't mind if folks KB on a team. It gives the game a more comic book feel. With that said I would not be against a KB --> KD global IO. As long as it needs to be slotted in a power that does KB.

  24. I don't think Empathy is heal heavy. It has 3 powers that heal while the rest is either utility (ally rez) or buffs. If you're going Empathy, all I can say is: a) don't tell me to gather for auras. just cast them and try to hit the most people with it...unless the team is performing bad. it's a waste of time and thus the buff as it destroys all momentum you had. b) don't neglect clear mind. keep it on those squishies. it also has +perception so you might spread it around to everyone when dealing with foes that have -perception debuffs.

  25. @Galaxy BrainIf you make it where any ST attack can trigger Opportunity (and allow you to change from target to target through using ST attacks on other enemies during the duration of Opportunity), then it does not need to be auto-hit. However, a mechanic wherein the Opportunity Meter grants a logarithmic boost to accuracy would be quite helpful. Accuracy would also help increase damage output. This would make Sentinels more consistent DPS compared to the burst damage of Blasters. I think combining Offensive and Defensive Opportunity is the way to go, as it is simple and effective.

  26. Rather than turn every single fight into another cookie cutter "Tank rounds them up, everyone AoEs, next group"? I much prefer the scatter. Even when I'm -playing- the tank or the person with patches and targeted aura debuffs. I'd rather have scatter than a rousing game of chartered accountancy where everyone ticks off their DPS Boxes at the appropriate times to rubber stamp a given group before moving on to the next form. FIGHT. Fight. I meant to say fight. I want fights where the enemies run around and take up different positions to fight. I want fights wh

  30. Hi Giovanni! I too would love to see Base Raids return some day! I use to love the feeling of invading an enemy base and hunting down their IoPs - but also planning my base around an actual defensive strategy as oppose to just the aesthetics! So fun! I too feel that PvP can get a bad rep in-game, hopefully that's something that can change in the future! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! ^_^

  31. I always shout out a good costume when I see it and I love it when people do the same to me. A well done Silver Age of Comics costume is something I can never quite get right but always makes me happy to see. There's someone who I've run into over a few task forces and she always recognises when I've changed costumes (I tend to do variations on a theme, like 90s comics, Cimemora, Vanguard, future/winter/injured version of my character etc) and it's so gratifying to be noticed for something that I had fun doing.

  37. If the game had tons of environmental hazards that knocking enemies into would deal extra damage, knockback wouldn't be so awful... but that's the sort of think that you had to have in the game in the first place. Technically, there are those Electro Zappers in DFB, for instance. It's hilarious to kill mobs with those, but DFB is too easy to require it. Maybe you could make something in AE with more lava pits, bubbling vats of chemicals, spiked walls, Hamidon Psy Damage Zones, and such for characters to use knockback in. Remember that episode of the 1960's Batman where they bring b

  41. It's an attitude that pervades far too many aspects of our society. It's typically not enough for someone to believe strongly in something. They tend to believe it so strongly that they become convinced it is the only real truth, and that everyone should think the same way. Anyone who doesn't is obviously a moron worthy of ridicule. It's as if they think "If you would just think the way I do, everything would be fine!". They go so far as to not just advocate their position on this, that, or the other thing. They foist their views on others, which is where I draw the line. It's regrettab

  42. It's funny. But, when NCSoft/Cryptic made changes to the game, not everyone liked the changes, but since it was the only place to play CoH, they played anyway, and found ways to have fun. Or, they left the game. But, now for some reason, if we don't like the way things are, it's perfectly OK to lament the fact that the place they apparently don't like anymore, has the largest player base, and advocate for advertising alternatives so that we can fracture the community even further. Sorry. Not on board with that. It just floors me how quickly we are able to just take for granted the

Homecoming owes you (or any other player) nothing. They can do whatever they want. Like it or not, we are guests in their sandbox and they are in control. Frankly we shouldn't even be playing this game right now, but we are. Because a few people decided to put themselves on the line to provide it to the rest of us. Figuring out when, and what changes will come to this implementation of the game will come eventually. I feel pretty comfortable that the Homecoming Devs are being open with the player base, and listening to what they have to say. As someone who has played this game since the very beginning, I can't say I understand the objections to the I25 content, but I acknowledge folks right to feel that way, and enco

  45. I keep hearing requests to change the game, for various reasons, when in most cases, simply adjusting one's own play style will address most of the concerns I have seen. You don't want to level so fast, turn off XP earning. You don't like inherent Stamina, don't slot it, and it will be MUCH less a factor. Don't like DFB, don't play it, and you can create a separate chat window to squelch all of the calls for DFB. Don't like the naming policy? Log in and move your characters around once in awhile. Move them to new Day Job locations, and it makes it more worthwhile. The one I really love
