  1. Just one for today. I've used up most of my alts since discovering the thread so now they'll probably be showing as I make them. Shotgun Surgeon. Assault Rifle/Pain Domination Corrupter. Don't worry, he's a doctor. A little bit ironic in this one as I had this concept just a day before I went in for a medical procedure myself. Nothing serious, just interesting timing on the idea.

  2. @Hyperstrike now hold on, mag 3 is basically nothing compared to the least powerful Melee-level Mez Armor (mag 8 iirc on the low end). Getting essentially "phew, a single minion stun wont pin me down" level of protection at lvl 35+ I do not see as game breaking.

  5. Because it's arbitrarily restrictive. Disallowing character concepts because they aren't at X level, or haven't acquired a late game badge, or weren't there for an event, or are of a specific ethnicity (yes, that is the message sent when something like Roman or Greek options are restricted) forces players to either abandon the concept or accept not being allowed to play what they want, or jump through more hoops than other players.   7. Pics from Fairy-themed DFB/DIB Saturday, 11/21/20 We started out with one line-up of players, did some switching along the way through 4 DFBs, and then wound up with a slightly different line-up for the final DiB. A good time was had by all, and lots of badges were collected!

  10. At this point we are playing a pirated game that shut down eight years ago. Any sort of gating existing costume pieces or whatever we have access to now is a nonstarter. It’s a horrible idea because as has been mentioned numerous times already, you can impose whatever self limitations you want on accessing stuff and there is nothing wrong with that. Now if new items are created down the road we will obviously be able to test that and provide constructive feedback at that time if there is any sort of grind involved in obtaining those things.

I remember all too well my first Oranbegan characters not being able to have their glowing eyes.... something they really needed at the time to pull off the idea I was going for, since the player-usable armor pieces wouldn't come along until the faction rework years later...   15. Good evening everyone. I'm sorry if this kind of topic has been posted a lot, I checked the last four pages to see if there was any recent discussion about this and didn't see anything. The suggestion is pretty simple -- I think it would be really fun if Flurry, Jump Kick, and Air Superiority took a page from the Fighting pool and had their strength increased with each other power you took in their respective pools. It would encourage people who want to build specific types of characters (like the ever-popular speedster) and reward them for going all-in on a power pool that is flav

  16. Yesterday throughout almost the entire day The Prestidigitator, on Reunion, pulled of the most epic performance in Atlas Square. He is a magician and flanked by his 2 Glamorous Assistants he pulled off show after show after show. Small different acts of magic, that always had a fun twist and often plagued by hilarious messups "ruining" his acts. It was backed by fantastic banter and inuendo between him and the 2 assistants. In between acts there where small episodes of him making/recieving phonecalls, reading up from the horoscopes in the paper, Assistants making Announcment

  17. What it says in the title. Traps' force field generator is permanent without any slotting, with a 15 second recharge and a 4 minute duration. However, a traps character will still have to recast the force field generator when that duration ends. Often it ends while a traps character is in combat, leaving them without mez protection and defence, shortly thereafter preventing the traps character from recasting ffg because they're mezzed. Sure, the character could recast before every combat to be absolutely sure it won't fail, but traps already has so much prep it needs to do to get into combat t

I think it's mostly a matter of those in the "against it" camp (myself included-) seeing the suggestion of locking out new costume parts as just a perpetuation of the same old problem/situation/annoying circumstance. For me, it was annoying not to have an aura back in the day.... For someone else, it may well be just as annoying now not to have access to New Item X , which will get locked behind Some Content Y or getting Badge Z that they can't do until the character hits level 30.

  22. I think if a player wants a restriction imposed he can just do it himself. We can pretend that we have to run the cape mission before we put on a cape. We can pretend we have to go to Cim before we wear Roman headgear. We can impose any restriction we want if we have enough self-discipline.

  24. I still say costume parts shouldn't be locked, rather it's behind level-based missions like the old cape and aura system, or completion of specific tasks. Badges, temp powers and accolades? Sure. Why not. But not costume items. In a game so heavily based on character customization, that's just *annoying*.

Is there any real downside to Blasters/Defenders/Corruptors/Controllers/Dominators (and potentially Kheldians) getting a very minor base 3 Mag protection versus Holds/stuns in their Smash/Lethal Armor toggle? 3-4 mag protection is not enough to allow them to solo +4/x8 mobs, but should allow them to solo better and more evenly than having to worry about getting mez-locked by 2 lieutenants? For most "squishies" they would be getting a minor bit of protection when mezzing starts to become very common closer to the end game. I also think it would help with 'real DPS' too,

  26. Time and time again do we see the oft-suggested 'Melee/Support' archetype. It comes in different names, but rarely in different structure. There's no doubt that there is a demand for an archetype that can fill the role, but despite the constant vocalisation of that it tends to eventually be drowned out by the slew of feedback that questions its viability. Without going into too much detail, there are issues in the Melee/Support design that are problematic, many of which lie with the Support side of things.   28. As I've said elsewhere. Development is not, and should not be, a democracy. Just because they don't give a response doesn't mean they don't pay attention to your feedback. (Small, volunteer team, putting out a fairly big update, after all.) Just because they didn't go and change things with the "most popular" option doesn't mean the feedback was useless. "Most popular" doesn't necessarily mean "right" (or "fits with whatever internal overall plan they have," or "is something they can do.")

  30. I understand stance that both of you are taking. I have suggested we get past the costume part component because we seem to be getting stuck there. I think the HC team has made it clear they are not going to lock costume parts behind gates. Are you interested in any of the other suggestions beyond the costume parts?

  31. While I think @Hyperstrike 's reply goes well into the range of "too far," I don't think I'd agree with this idea, honestly. Blasters have a *bit* of pseudo-protection in being able to use their T1 and T2 blasts, plus the T1 from the secondary (and don't forget things like voltaic sentinel,) so they're not completely helpless. Doms obviously have domination. Khelds have a few options open to them. Depending on the Defender, Corrupter or Controller, they may already *have* mez protection plus defense (or resistance.) Even the ones that don't play merry havoc with foes - or can still

  35. I'm not sure about whatever monolithic regen sent build you're talking about. A player could skip Second Wind and that decision will likely revolve around the cooldown the power. Even if you push a high recharge build Second Wind will still have a downtime longer than a minute. It is a clutch heal but not nearly as effective for healing throughput as Reconstruction is. I happen to like Second Wind. I tend to suggest taking it and Moment of Glory more often than I don't. That said, both powers could be dropped if something else works out better for the player.

  37. Exactly this. This is already a compromise between gated content vs. no gated content. This is not a retail version of the game....I believe letting the costume focused people have their outfits makes the most sense. For the shiney, or the feeling of accomplishment, or the grind, or even the ego stroking, there are avenues of gated content in the game right now. I understand there are some new mechanics coming in the next issue which offer more gating without restricting player agency in a cosmetic way. That is awesome.

There is a contrivance in LOTRO called the Halls of Memory, wherein you and Gandalf are wandering through a book, witnessing events depicted therein, and the scenes are connected via these little trippy passages that give the HoM their name. In Fallout 4, there's a contrivance where you experience someone's memories in a similar way. Of course there isn't really a twisty maze of little passages between past events. It's a metaphor.   40. Melee as a whole is just absolute trash, won't go off on that tangent here. But if I can get changes for energy melee to be functional on release for stalkers(like people in the pvp community ALREADY HAVE DONE for trick arrow), stalkers will go from having 1 functional set for pvp to 2. I love the EM changes but as you can see the numbers are still pretty much a joke. Blasters basically get 2 ranged energy transfers worth of damage in snipe (a snipe for god sakes) and strangler. Also the numbers I posted are mini critted ET, without mini crit, ET literally does less damage than blaster range a

  42. sigh.... I know some here are just tongue in cheek joking, but please, stop spreading FUD. Stone Melee will not be getting any combo or conditional mechanics, and at the same time: scrapper/stalker versions, when they happen, will not be identical to tanker/brute ones. Stone melee changes for ATs that already have access to it, if any, will be minimalist. Edit to add: DO expect special mechanics on completely new sets, though.

  43. But it isn't. though. Even if we take pylons loosely they still are a metric and no AT has ever brought DM to a competitive range. The 'strength lies in ST damage' seems to be a parroted term with no actual basis. What DM does have is a small heal and a different build up power that, ultimately, falls short since it imposes a tax on the set (can't be -too- good at base or Soul Drain will make the damage explode. But on any circumstance that does not have SD saturated then the set lags behind). It also has an endurance clickie. So DM is not really something strong in ST but rather a
