  1. Just tested live vs beta. I discovered that... Flight + Evasive Manuevers is slower than Flight + Afterburner on live Flight + Evasive Manuevers has less movement control than Flight + Afterburner on live Flight + Evasive Manuevers gives me less defense than Flight + Afterburner on live. So this is a pretty significant nerf to flyers. What a shame. I was looking forward to this. **EDIT** The flight control being lower was due to a bug. It should match live when working properly.

  2. There is no better teaming than this game. My experience with online games started with Diablo, the original. I loved the new experience of chat rooms, but no teaming to be had. It was random solo. Then I moved to NWN, the original. Being heavily DnD based there were hefty XP penalties for teaming so I gravitated to paladin/clerics that could heal themselves and would run around killing things until max level. Then I tried Guild Wars, the original, and the PvP aspect of the game and the lack of PvE (no DLCs yet at the time) meant I only played it for a short while. We did team there as the NPC

  3. This is the part that confused me. It's like they saw the complaints that didn't make any sense, then went and changed the powers so that the complaints were now valid. Seems kind of backwards, doesn't it? Put me in the camp for not liking this adjustment. Being slower out of the box while also having to shift more slots and powers around to get back what was already working fine before feels like a bad change to me.

  4. Given how slot starved most of my builds get, I'd much rather pick up a couple more powers I don't need to budget slots for than try and carve slots out to retain the ability to hit the flight speed cap.

  5. Add my name to the hat, then. I liked it better when I had full control and high speed after an attack. Suppresses way too much now. The speed shift overall just adds legitimacy to the awful arguments made in past threads. It was fine.

  6. Most of the changes leave me indifferent. Fine if they come, just as fine if they don't. I find myself playing less and hardly ever logging in to the boards anymore, mostly because I found the last Page disheartening. But a couple of things really irk me and I start questioning whether the people that come up with these ideas are actually still playing the game or just managing it. On casual gameplay, or in a buddy team, these points may look unimportant, but if you're a soloing squishy they become vital and potentially decisive. I have plenty of AR toons and Full

  7. This is one of those perfect moments to show how much the character creator and the costume options have expanded. In 2005 - that WAS the best that anyone could do as an homage to Dr. Fate. And you did quite well back then! But Mystic Fortune above shows what can be done NOW. City of Heroes costume/character creator literally changed the way people saw MMO potential back at release and continued to raise the bar until Sunset. The only one that matches it for options and creativity is Champions Online. But you have to BUY with real money SO many unlocks on that game to GET

  10. We appreciate the concern here - but to be clear this is a bug fix, not a deliberate removal of content (these were, obviously, never intended for player use). Unfortunately it's an all-or-nothing fix for this "backdoor" method of triggering animations, it wasn't possible to simply disable certain animations (the beam of light will not be coming back 🙂). However it is possible to add player-safe versions of the non-intrusive animations. Would you be able to post up a thread documenting the ones you'd like to see return? Specifically we'd like: A screenshot A /demorecord

  11. In issue 27, the very first accolade I try to get on a hero is the exploration accolade for Atlas Park, which unlocks the long rage teleporter power. Once you have done it a couple times, you remember all the places you need to go: - statue by the supergroup registrar; - portal by Recluse Victory entrance; (both inside city hall), - in front of hero corps guy by SG portal; - somewhere inside the Vanguard foyer, just run around until it awards; - top of City Hall by the flag - top of Atlas's globe - ledge on a random building in the NE quadrant

  13. The Row, bro’. It’s gritty. It’s tough. It’s real. Ain’t pretty, like the Falls, or Kallisti. It’s the rough and tumble of the Isles, but with a conscience. The gangs? We deal with ‘em. Clocks? Ain’t nuthin’ but a thang, man. The Row may seem down. But we’re still *&#@in’ standin’. Just like Blue Steel there. And Eagle Eye. And Joe freakin’ Freitag (yeah, we know he lives in Atlas, but the man’s heart is here). Yeah, we’ve been down. but we always get back up. Why? Heart, man. Heart. 16. Gravity Control > Singularity Singularity will now slowly pull enemies towards it, allowing it to make much greater use of the Repel effect So this is great, but I thought this mechanic wasn't possible with the current code. If it is, then they really ought to replace dimension shift with an inverse bonfire power that draws the enemies to the center and call it gravity sink. It's definitely a power that gravity IMO has needed for a while and would be PERFECT.

  18. I think the end-game has certainly reached it's limits, but to say it is broken is a simplification of the situation. There's still plenty of challenge in the game, unfortunately, most of that is in the 1-40 range. While we do have Ouroboros, it's very rarely convenient or conductive to be able to organise random groups with. I think making more content 'backwards compatible', so to speak, by allowing you to play arcs & missions for contacts you have out-leveled without having to trapise to Ouroboros would go far. The Night Ward arcs certainly have a higher bar of entry than th

  21. Can we really even say anymore that flight deserves to be slow because of its relative convenience and safety when Super Speed makes you both invisible AND intangible and Super Jump gets all the vertically they want with Double Jump? Those two pools get love after love but god forbid Flight doesn't get kneecapped.

  25. The set was an utter pile of shite before the changes. It made a gutter set into one of the best. Cumbersome? By making powers better, and the best attack into nearly ALWAYS insta cast? Say what? And how does it punish you exactly?

  28. 1. I am not discussing the former. I am discussing the issue that the OP is suggesting the WRONG solution to a naturally occurring problem with every game of this nature where gear or team composition is acquired or achieved and takes on challenges presented by the game and the challenges then look too easy. The right solution is not to nerf what is already in placed as intended, as designed, as demonstrated in every other game with this same type of system ---> present higher challenges without nerfing what already attainable via hard work and lots of playing or whatever.

  30. So there was a call that maybe we could get those "special" emotes available to players (without the godbeam!) that are currently only accessed by players on live by mixing emote commands. The screenshots requested were too large to add to this post, so I uploaded to imgur. They're nearly impossible to sort so I'm trying to label them there. http://imgur.com/a/uhuSTVy It was that or I made 12 different posts in this thread, spamming it up. @Jimmy liedisco.cohdemo liekarate.cohdemo liescore2.cohdemo liescore3.cohdemo liescore4.cohdemo liescore5.cohdemo liescore6.cohdemo l

  32. I go after atlas medallion as soon as I hit level 22 (after I do my usual level 22 respec). I go to Striga Isle and start working on the defeat badges. I usually gain a level or 2 while hunting, so I'm around 24 when I actually get the badge. I like to do the TF commander task forces as I leveled up starting with Posi 1 as soon as I finish off my DFB runs around level 14. You have to be 35 to do the last one, so I get the accolade between 35 and 40. Usually Numina I have to start on my own, but the others are pretty common and you can just join up when you see them.

  34. Not the 'worst' of anything, but annoying regardless. I set up a +4 Market Crash and pay no attention to who I recruit (that part was my bad, I usually check the vet levels of everyone and adjust difficulty). We go in. Everything is dying at a good clip. No team deaths. We reach the last boss and I warn to ignore the constantly spawning adds and focus the boss while dropping AoEs to whittle said adds. Start fighting. No progress on the boss. People start sighing that we didn't have enough incarnates for a +4. Keep fighting. No progress. People are hitting adds instead o

  39. Let me offer a serious alternative. Keep the 2-Billion inf limit on each character. Much as I'd love to change this, it could create wide ranging unforeseen bugs. Instead, add a new piece of special salvage, which is purchased at the merit Kiosk for inf at 1 Billion each, and which can be sold for 1 Billion Inf at the same Kiosk. These would be transferable only to characters on the same account. Or maybe even allow them to be traded/emailed to anyone -- that's how normal Inf works, after all. Each character could keep as many as 9,999 of these at one time.

  40. I think if you really want this to feel like a buff, you need to boost the speed in fly by 5mph then everyone wins. Currently it was reduced by 8-9mph for those using the speed in EvM as the equivalent of fly+ab on live. Now that equivalent pick is slower. I understand the combat speed change, but what fly gained was miniscule compared to what EvM lost and was a bit heavy handed any way you slice it IMO.

  41. That would be neat, Haijinx but I was thinking as power tweaks for an eventual melee support AT. Imagine a Storm/Mace character whose Hurricane draws enemies in instead of blowing them away.

  42. Someone needs to take a look at what "slightly" means in the case of Evasive Maneuvers, its bonus to fly speed was cut almost in half in this patch while Fly only gained about a 5% boost.

  43. I'm not entirely sure I follow your argument: you're saying a team that's trying to group up mobs is going to get pissed off by a power that groups up mobs? It seems to me the correct response to this situation by any melee character who wasn't running around with their pants on their head would be to simply... go to the Singularity and let the mobs come to them.

  47. It really shouldn't be surprising that one of the only "high tier" Pool Powers that people can justify sinking multiple power picks into has people who don't want it to become another dead power in a sea of dead powers. It being "better" (not universally true anyway, depending on AT) than some random armor set's T9 while still being a rare, niche pick says more about the sad state of that armor's T9 than it does about the strength of the pool power. Armor T9s have been mostly a waste for most sets for a long time in general anyway.

Honestly I'd probably just quit if softcap was removed, and I feel like I am far from alone on that matter Let me preface this by saying that I'm definitely not adverse to more challenging content being introduced -- maybe I'm in the minority, but I'd like to challenge myself and my friends in different ways. +5x10 teams? Let's do it. If need be you could even lock the AE out of higher difficulties to keep people from farming. Also, it'd be great if newer content (story arcs, TFs/SFs, events etc.) maybe had some sort of "Incarnate Mode" where you're expected to have a team of (most
