  2. I don't interact much with the community, but I like this thread so I thought I'd share a few designs of my own! First and foremost, the Yellow Dwarf, Science Sentinel with Energy Blast and Radiation Armor. Just a bunch of sapient star matter shoved into a suit. (The other side of the cape is orange-ish yellow, in a call-back to the Mylar used on the old moon landers) And the Shieldmaid (all the variations of Shieldmaiden were sadly - and unsurprisingly - taken, though Merriam-Webster assures me that Shield-maid is an acceptable variant), Tech Ta

  3. I find that I mind absolutely none of these things, no matter which character I brought and no matter which playstyle they work best in. If I am on a melee, I make it a point not to mind the earth controller who obscures the whole screen with giant rocks. I reckon they know how their powers work and how to use them. Masterminds with annoying pets? Glad to know there's some ally out there whose hit points are even more disposable than mine. And that's the character you want on your team on the ship raid. I figure the energy blaster also knows exactly what she can handle. Leve

  4. So I went in a slightly different direction. Meet the Cheer-o-practor! She'll turn your team's frown upside down and give both a villain's bad attitude & his spine a nice adjustment with her glowy PomPoms of Justice! Cheer-o-practor.costume

  5. I'd say make some more NPCs and give them access to powers from Water Blast. More Coralax maybe? Water themed Outcasts and Circle Mages? Maybe even Tsoo and Banished Pantheon bosses?

  6. Actually it looks like your targeting drone found $20, it's pointing a beam right at it. Where do I get me a money targeting drone? Seems like it would pay for itself in no time.

  7. Let the people use their powers. With how this is generally the best and most welcoming community of any game i have ever played, its near the bottom when it comes to power shaming. I see taskforces forming all the time - all blaster, all controller, all melee. You can make your own team - no knockback, no imobilize. Join a special rules team when you want special rules. But if you join a random team with random players, its going to be random.

  9. Any chance we could get something like this? Not exactly the same, but some sort of system to make getting the history badges more fun and lore-y. Would be nice if they sent us to pick them up in order so the story would flow.

  10. Is there a story with the red and blue? Does that tie into his powers? Also, here's a character I've been having a lot of fun with. Meet the Fisherman King, a mutant who doesn't know why he can do the things he can do. In his imagined backstory I'm imagining him roaming the seven seas for several years before finally deciding to try out the 'hero' thing for real. He may or may not have raised some hell in a quiet little fishing town called Innsmouth. I can't decided if I like that look better, or this one: I think if I was allowed to

  11. Currently, the mecha-wing and jetpack costume parts have two states, open and closed (or just on and off for the jetpacks). As far as I can tell, these parts only open when a flight power is active, and they're closed at all other times. I have a character who in-concept uses a jetpack-based super jump (not unlike the jump pack P2W powers, but a bit more integral to the character's design and movement), so I'd really like to be able to have the wings open either all the time, or when I jump. To that end, especially if other people have any similar concepts, I'm proposing some poten

  13. So I want to be clear this isn't sarcasm or a trap or anything, I HAVE to see your sentinel clearing content at a comparable speed to high end blasters. Please transfer your sent to beta or something, message me, I want to see this. This is unprecedented.

  14. The fact that we’re having a thread with this title so soon after a thread in which a member compared supposedly marginalized support classes with the struggles of women... it’s just irony so rich and thick you want to drizzle it over pancakes. Y’all need to make up your damn minds.

  20. I suspect the original developers focused on the end of the story that is the Lost and may not have realized how it was perceived by new players moving through the material. As such, in the original game, we'd just completed King's Row which used to be dominantly Lost, rather than heavily Skull and Circle of Thorns as it is now. So in that perspective, Castanella is a natural next step as the OG players moved from KR to Steel Canyon. I do remember the full realization of the Lost/Ritki connection to be a bit jarring as a new player, however. I mean, the clues were all there, bu

  21. I wouldn't say it's my best costume, but it is one of my favorites from all the MMOs I've played in the last 20ish years. From CoV beta until sunset my main was a MM. He started as Bots/FF and after CoV went live was changed to Bots/Traps. He was a mentally disturbed idiot savant of a boy who could turn almost anything into a toy to do his bidding even if the science didn't quite line up. His part lists for his gadgets included biological resources and he didn't understand why this upset other people. Part of his inspiration was the movie "Virus", the Twilight Zone epis

  23. Do new things get added from time to time? Had an idea for a duelist styled hero and was hoping something like a Rapier would get added for Broadsword and a smaller shield, like a buckler or forearm guard, for Shield Defense.

  25. These are Defender tricks?! 🤔This kinda reads like rules for children --Stay in the back and play nice, also don't touch anything Melee hasn't said was okay for you to touch. All buffs/heals belong to Melee, do not use them without their permissions. I don't think I've ever followed these rules and I've played a METRIC TON of 'support' ATs with and without Repeat Offenders. EDIT: The confused reactions are highly amusing - There's different ways to play and being the alpha sponge can go to any AT. Also buffing the AT with the most HP and protection first seems needless...but ya know

  27. If you are going to adjust merits for MLTF then equate it to redside LRSF. Currently without the extra flier merits MLTF gives 12 more merits than the equivalent redside TF. You complete them roughly in the same amount of time on less than world record speedrun timings.

  28. I also came here to suggest Trick Arrow. It is nice because it has long duration debuffs on a short cooldown, so if you are in a team that steamroller you can still get most of your debuffs up on each mob and if you are in a long fight you don't have to feel like you're needing to reapply the debuffs too often. There is truth to this in a sense. On typical mobs you will not have impressive ToHit debuff AoEs in comparison to sets like Dark (the king of -ToHit), Storm, or Rad. But in an AV fight your ToHit debuffs will be on par with Dark (slightly better than Dark, technically, b

  29. Tl:dr for the entire thread seems to be: elec is a bit behind fire but not as far behind as people think. Let's go to war over the single-digit percentages? My opinion, based on how I and my friends play and not spreadsheet attack chains: Elec blast is fine enough, but "almost as good as other sets" with no discernible secondary effect feels bad. There's no amount of proving its high-end worth to change that.

  31. I showed up very recently(Though I played a little many decades ago on a friend's account), don't know anything about the 'meta' of the game and am discovering a lot of things for the first time. And I have to say so far, out of my various characters I've made, I really like what sentinel brings to the table. See, I don't even worry about range, I run into melee before doing any of my powers, and then range is just for anyone who starts running away. I have no idea if that's an optimal playstyle, but it feels really good. To run in as this invulnerable tank, lobbing high powered wa

  32. The first statement, WRT to "potential" is probably true, given limitless team support. The second statement just isn't true in my experience, and the numbers quite frankly don't bear it out in the general case. You ain't dropping multiple +4 bosses (+3 after Incarnate shift) in a handful of seconds with any solo Blaster. Been through this debate many many times before. While it's true that Sentinels don't have an analogue for, say, a balls-to-the-wall PBAoE Blapper wielding the /Fire secondary, most Blasters don't have that kind of AoE in their secondaries.

Nearly spit out my soda when I saw it, it made me laugh so hard. Enjoy! 😁 Peace & Giggles... P.S: Oh, and make sure to watch the rest of them too, because it only gets better lol...

  36. I sometimes consider the Blaster to be the Schrodinger's Cat of damage archetypes. It is the AT that is simultaneously able to survive really well while fighting with hover out of range and does the highest damage while being in melee range. The Blaster is also both alive and dead at the same time depending on how the Tanker is observing them.

Now where's yours @Snarky? lol 😋 (Still wanna see it) Peace...

  42. First you're complaining about scattered mobs slowing down your DPS then you complain about players rushing to defeat stuff too fast? Seems a mite contradictory. FYI, every set-up is going to have their ups and downs. Did you know a debuff powerset has trouble contributing on teams that kill too fast? Or that single target focused sets have to waste their potential waiting for a team to gather the mobs in neat little herds? Or that over-control can reduce the effectiveness of other control effects? If you're having problems contributing, try reassessing your tactics. Yo
