  2. There's nothing that has to be done once per day, or several times per day. Nothing. You can, if you prefer, run almost anything as many times as you want, as often as you want. The only restrictions are in a diminishing returns approach to the reward system in certain content, such as Task/Strike Forces or Incarnate story arcs when selecting the merit reward (you can receive the full merit reward for the restricted content once every 20 hours. running the content again when less than 20 hours has elapsed results in half the reward. this restriction is not global, so you could run every T

  4. In my opinion, outside of AE farms, there are really only 3 pieces of content whose rewards stand out noticeably from the rest: 1) Tin Mage/Apex TF: This is a pair of level 50 task forces started from within the rikti war zone, and they are among the highest merit/time task forces in the game. Each TF awards 40 reward merits, 1 Astral merit, and a reward table that lets you pick 1 more Astral merit or 1 incarnate component, and can be done in around 15 minutes. Typically teams will do both back-to-back, so it takes 30 minutes for the whole thing. This is often advertised in LFG a

  5. I think you'll encounter some different perspectives. Most players don't "grind" the same thing repeatedly for incarnate salvage. Some do, of course. Of those that do, by and large: Speed Lambdas. The most inept concept in my mind, but while it is crude, it is effective. Just don't look for much incarnate XP. Just an emp merit, maybe a couple astrals and a random reward table. Heather Townsend's arc, out of Dark Astoria, or through Ouro. This arc is 4 missions, and when you speed through them, you can get the rewards fairly quickly. Maybe once every 10 minutes or so. (faster or slowe

  8. Beacons are the means by which AI can traverse maps efficiently. On live, there was actually a process called BeaconServer which worked to beaconize bases during play - which is one of the reasons live had such Draconian limits on base items, because generating beacons is a very expensive process (and the cost is not linear, especially when cramming many objects into a small area). Homecoming does not run BeaconServer and allows much more extensive base-building; the cost for this is that there can be no real combat in bases. In the earliest days of Hom

  10. If I understand correctly, the way the costume pieces are set up, they all have a primary and secondary color. For the tops with skin ones, the secondary is the skin tone you've picked. There's no way to add a third color without baking in a specific one.

Because US legal doctrine is that in that combination of circumstances they cannot object. Let 'em keep jumping in your frame, you can keep shooting without worrying about them (at least from a legal perspective). And pay attention to the two part test... The first gets complicated in public spaces on private property (such a

  14. The Croatoa War is a really fun and interesting event. It has all the enemy groups of Croatoa in one place fighting it out, which is an interesting enough concept on its own. It ends with two giant monsters fighting each other, genuinely unique in this game. It's a spectacle on its own to watch, and of course there's the obvious fact that it's two badges/merits in one encounter. I like the Croatoa war. I also *hate* everything else about it. The Croatoa War cannot go on while any of its spawns are alive on the map. This isn't broadcast to anyone. Most players either don

  19. I did the unthinkable: I looked it up in the wiki. According to that source (which may not be correct): - it takes 39,149,119 xp to go from 1-50. - it takes 4,973,400 xp to go from 49-50. - every veteran level takes the same amount of xp as 49-50. So however long it takes you to run 1-50 (A in my example above), it should take you about 4.05x as long to run from 1 to vet level 24 (A+B), and about 7.10x as long to run to vet level 48 (A+B+C). You are very slightly better off running to vet level 24 than vet level 48, but it's so close that it's pretty mu

  21. Empyrean Merits can be converted into Rare or Very Rare incarnate components, which you need to craft a tier 3 and a tier 4 incarnate ability - unless you happen to have the specific rare/very rare component you need. Alternatively, 1 Empyrean merit can be converted into 20 incarnate threads. Best of all, Empyrean merits can be mailed to your own alts - most of the other incarnate compoents are character-bound. tl;dr Empyrean merits are extremely useful, because they can be used as substitutes for the other things you need to create your incarnate abilities.

  23. Right, after Praetoria Proper you take the Imperial Underground to First Ward and on into Night Ward. There's access to the AE via Studio 55 (and now a new access point in Nova Praetoria). Once in Pocket D the SBB can be done, a handy boost. Provided they start from within Praetoria or Pocket D the Cathedral of Pain and all the Incarnate Trials are possible. Belladonna Vetrano's arc is doable provided it is taken from ouro and you physically go to Night Ward to enter the mission. And speaking of ouro, if you have a crystal in your base all the arcs you missed along the way are open to you.

  26. Yeah, have to say this is really subjective - I mean, it took a while for me to get a TW character to 50 because I don't enjoy the set. Only did it because I enjoyed the character. However, you want a slow, enemies will die of old age build, Earth/FF controller will do it...

  27. Thanks for that Aries, I've moved the files around as necessary. Current project status - nearly 60% done! After these are all done, I'll go ahead and unzip them all into my current public facing web server, and make a "mini-app" to just go through the raw file list and index every file into a sitemap HTML file and submit to Google for processing. Then things will really start to show up and be searchable. I'll also see if I can zip up the whole thing into a single 7z archive at maximum compression and provide it to everyone as a "Phase 1" file. If there's enough intere

  34. This brings me onto another patriot character of mine that I'm having trouble loving, Albion Hawk DP/MC Blaster. I like the name, I like the AT, but i'm just struggling with the costume. For me, the costume makes the character, it gives it a personality. Without it, or with a wrong costume the character just will not work for me and i'll lose interest. So Albion Hawk is a remake of one of my main Live characters, British Hero, a Rad/DP Speedster Defender, but the costume has just never worked for me: I've had a couple of attempts to redesign him and find the

  39. I do not think CoH private servers will experience any long or even medium term growth due to the issues that plague WoW. Many WoW fans enjoy content that this game does not have or does not excel in, such as high difficulty raids/dungeons and PvP. WoW fans are used to systems that this game doesn't have, group finder being the most obvious one. This game has too many quirks that modern MMO gamers will find jarring, such as speed being reduced after an attack, inability to move while attacks are animating, lack of auto-attack (note: not the green circle autopower feature), th

A bad Task Force is still better than most other things in life. Plus it gives me endless conversation topics on the boards lol I love doing solo projects. Currently soloing Redside ( 1st time doing this on a Blaster!) and doing this as a Badger getting Blue and Gold badges and First Ward Night Ward content. Lot of stuff to do there I recently joined an SG that is very active and organized. I re
