  1. The entire point of locking cosmetics behind progression on Live was to ensure that customers continued to pay for an ongoing service. You couldn't look exactly how you wanted out of the gate, you had to be level 20 to get your cape, 30 to get an aura, and had to do certain missions or earn merits to be able to use certain costume pieces. On each character. And you had to keep paying a monthly subscription to get these carrots at the ends of the sticks. Or buy them from the micro transaction store when they added THAT. This was all put in place for the developers and publisher to make money.

  2. If you visited last year, you've been looking forward to this year, and it will not disappoint! Twice as big, more thrills, chills, and some nights will have scare actors. If you didn't get to visit last year...well, you are in for a scary treat! Come see why this is a huge favorite at Halloween! (even if you have to make an alt to visit Everlasting, it's worth it, I promise!) -Dacy

  3. Collecting that badge ITSELF is your reward. That's the whole point of badging as a mode of gameplay... Getting all those little shiny things that you can point to and say "Look what I got!"

  5. My brother only logs on to make sure he's at capped badges. After T4ing several alts, I generally only log on Wed night for SG ITF runs. Everyone posting here and in game are coming at this revival in different ways and getting different things from it. I'm happy as all #&$^ that BZB exists again but I don't actually grok why I'm not playing him more. I honestly spend more time on the forums than I do in game and while that made sense back in the old days when I wasn't temporarily retired, it makes very little sense to me now. To the OP, make this game w

  7. To be fully transparent, that old format was significantly more overhead for the team. This format allows for a repeatable method to share the information that can be viewed and used in multiple ways including a method for everyone to add it into their own personal calendars if they wish. I understand the sentiment and don't really disagree. If others prefer the other format, there is nothing preventing someone from replicating that (using this information) here on the forums, on the HCWiki, or somewhere else.

  8. What I use for Shield Charge is: /bind g "Powexec_location 0:5 Shield Charge$$powexec_location target Shield Charge" That makes it so my "G" key either Shield Charges my target, or if I don't have a target selected, it puts me 5 units (feet?) directly in front of me. This helps with the camera spin quite a bit. Substitute in the key or key combo you want to Shield Charge with and try it out.

  11. The big nerf to fire tanks was the fear built into burn. The Devs stated that it made no real sense for a mob to keep trying to hit someone while they were on fire. So, those of us on fire tanks would enter our Dreck map comprised of about 45 groups of Tanks, each with a couple of boss tanks that would self-rez so we could burn 'em down again...and as soon as we dropped burn, they'd run away, despite being taunted. Some would fire at range when they could, others would just keep running until you caught them. It was a pretty sad day for fire tanks, even those of us who could only farm a li

  14. I get the immobilize hate. I also get why those that have them use them. Would you as a blaster decide to not use fireball? Would you as a scrapper not want to fire off spin whenever it makes sense? Same goes for aoe immobilizes. It's usually the best DPA AoE in the set and should be used often because of it. I don't care when I see a spawn locked down. I'm all about the Tab-Follow-Kill mentality and care not at all if I'm not hitting every enemy cuz they got spaced out by an immobilize. And because I don't care, I especially spam the hell out of my one good aoe.

  17. Dual Blade is actually one of the better stalker primaries when built correctly. Ablating strikes and Sweeping strikes are very high DPA attacks, along with Assassin's Blades filling out the single target rotation. With enough recharge you can solely stick to these attacks offering some pretty high DPS . On top of this it gets access to a def debuff and a melee AoE in the single target rotation which lets you slot in both -res procs (Achille's heel and Fury of the gladiator ) for even more damage. It also get two decent AoEs which, while a bit unwieldly , gives you solid AoE presence.

  18. With club themed bases being a dime a dozen, it's a tough sell to get traffic there, particularly given that Pocket D evolved from PDP when the population rose enough that chat proximity became a big problem (the same problem people complain about now with a lot of people near each other). That said I wouldn't mind seeing an SG portal and/or the current badge outside the door giving you direct access to it via the travel teleporter. Direct access via Pocket D I wouldn't complain about or disagree with personally, but no one really visits Studio 55 and that's also linked.

  20. Yes! This is a MUST SEE! And if you know anything about base construction, some of the details and clever usage of place-able objects will make your jaw drop. I had the benefit of doing this with several "actors" to make it even more alive and creepy! It's totally worth it. This base is on another level, it's a truly work of art! Hopefully y'all will be able to enjoy it as much as I did, and you might even get stalked by a certain killer clown... Just beware the sounds of a blade behind you or bloody foot steps following you! (and that's just one of the nightmare-fuel thing

  22. Simply put: What you are doing on a team is either speeding that team up or slowing it down. There's no way to theory craft which that is here on the forums because people will always trot out the team composition that makes them right and everyone else wrong. But there ARE situations where knockbackers slow the team down. There are situations where AoE immobilizers slow the team down. And yes, there are teams where some tanker insisting on rounding up a spawn will be slower. But which, if any of these, is true depends on what kind of team you have. About the only thing th

  23. Traps, probably, especially if solo. Ranged henchmen benefit the most from the static nature of traps, the FFG plugs their weak defences and the debuffs help with damage. I found, to me surprise, Mercs/Force Field very enjoyable. You an your men are well protected, Repulsion Field keeps everyone away and because you aren't using much Endurance for anything else, you take the primary attacks and just join in the dakakakakakaka! Yeah, OK, its neither efficient or subtle, but it's oddly satisfying.

  24. The fact is that suggestions work both ways - players can provide feedback on your suggestion, its a forum specifically designed for that purpose. I've seen posters give their input just as you've provided your own suggestion and responses to others input. I disagree with this opinion that because players disagree with an idea (whether it is valuable is entirely subjective) that they are trolling. Perhaps it is your first experience with using internet forums, or perhaps not, but this community is welcoming and helpful when given the chance. Good luck!

  25. Thank you for the inspiration to add a second suggestion for the mods here. Can we have more help with the troll situation here? It will keep players from wanting to add potentially valuable ideas and share with the community. I am now unsubscribing.

  26. @Erratic1 A couple things I know can do this: Copying a character to test, Adding, promoting or demoting them in your SG, Anything else that might cause the database to "ping" the character for info. If you still suspect something is wrong, please change your game and forum passwords. You may also submit a support ticket, and a GM might be able to poke into your account history to see if different I.P.s accessed it.

  27. +0 Council are not the same as +0 Carnies, Malta, Arachnos, Vanguard, etc. Some ATs and powersets perform better or worse against some of those, everyone stomps on Council. I have a feeling the new stuff will be harder than Council at +0.

  28. And thank god. Allowing there to be a +0 hard mode would be stupid. +0 is called easy mode, and a +0 hard mode would just be an easy mode farm of supposedly hard mode rewards.

  29. Disclaimer: I have no connection whatsoever to OP or the project. I have one lowbie alt on Everlasting, not played in triple figure days. Have been playing since way back in the day and have visited a fair number of guest SG’s. If you do nothing else during the event you must go and experience what in my humble opinion is the most astonishing creation I have ever encountered since my day one ingame. This SG is simply epic and on a scale that makes my head explode. I do not have the literary ability to do it all justice in a post, you have to go exp

  34. I'm pretty sure (1) and (2) are the primary factors. While the others could play a role, I'd wager half my funds they are an order of magnitude less and a blip in the grand scheme of things. For every one of us that likes to play in the market, there are dozens that just want to buy an IO and get on with punching things.

Also - if you're on a team, you're rogue, they're vig - doesn't matter, you'll have the option to choose Arriviste, and vice-versa. Tips (anecdotally) drop at the same rate, teamed or solo, but if you're teamed, you can choose any of the options you haven't chosen yet, without regard to what the team lead choses. 42. Most other MMOs i played didnt have the ability for a high level character to join a lower level team so they didnt have to balance being over powered. They would just release a new raid where your current gear wasnt good enough and had an endless cycle of collecting the current gear that was better then your old gear. They would often increase the level cap during this process as well. These MMOs are 'growing up' and often excludes under geared characters from participation in high end content. In contrast, City of Heroes is 'growing out'. New content is being added but all o

Those who are willing to engage in such high crimes rally under the banner of Hallowed Eve. There is no desire to dominate the world, to rule over all or to usurp any heavenly thrones. Rather, there is the simple and direct goal of enriching oneself in this world and all other worlds. To possess not souls, but riches beyond mere mortal greed. The members of Hallowed Eve have indeed found a way to take it wi
