  1. Hello folks! I'm coming back to the game after almost a year. I just saw that masterminds had gotten a big rework. I want to make a class I can take to 50 and help in raiding, something I didn't do often. Looking at Necro and Elec, it looks like Elec is generally great for heals / bubbles, it has hold resist, and should stack with Necro Resistance. How durable will it be at high levels, and do you all thing it will hold up well and be useful in task forces?
  2. Mad King, as a master Proccer I was looking at your Assault Rifle build. I was wondering if Procs could be moved to Mastermind to punch with. Can you proc out the Fighting Pool to do decent Single Target? Would that be possible on a defender? Dont the fast animations and low cooldowns ruin that plan?
  3. Are the changed numbers updated in the powers tooltip in-game? A couple ones like Shadow Maul still seem to be 120 but I've heard they're 180 on a tanker. What makes it worse is the notes seem to imply some powers just got a number of targets buff and not arc, which is... not so good?
  4. I've read on here a couple times about a tank arc buff. How exactly does it work? What powers does it effect and is it listed anywhere?
  5. Even Marauder using some old pick up trucks and vim n' vigor managed to fight Hami for years out in the Great Plains, I'm sure an organized military in giant robot suits can do better.
  6. Her extensive and unchecked heroin addiction does her in just a couple weeks after you prevent her from dying a hero's death. What a twist!
  7. Its probably fair to assume people in the main city are even still alive. Hami hasn't been invading that long and they are much more organized then First Ward. First Ward has its problems, but Hami isn't the biggest, or even the main one. Clearly people can survive and even thrive while fighting Hami and Cole did a pretty good job arming up his city vs the chaos there. Of course things are bad, and may be sliding towards finality, but just because we see some arcs where the weak flee for their lives doesn't mean that there isn't victory in other parts of the city, just listening to the refugees might not give the full picture. It would be like asking the Resistance for their opinion on Cole.
  8. I am playing Dark Shield and enjoying it. It has a couple great combos, the damage is decent, and the self heals are delightful. It has a lot of good way to stack defense, but could you IO guys give me some ideas about Resistance? Once I'm at Def Cap, what should I look for to improve Resistance, any particular IOs? I have Tough and the Shield Skills, How high should I expect a reasonably IO'ed out Shield Brute to get on Resistance. Thanks for the help!
  9. Looking at these Numbers, I could see a strong argument for a Earth Controller, or other controller without a good damage chain to take these. It would be pretty thematic for a big earth wizard to be wading in and punching people. It might not be the perfect plan but Earth really has almost nothing low level to chain into a reasonable damage set right? I was just thinking, Earth also has a couple good PBAOE powers you could mix with Radiation, and be throwing around AOE Mag 4 stuns while punching contained targets. Doesn't seem too shabby?
  10. I was looking at the fighting pool talents. I can't seem to find a good exact numbers to them, would they be reasonable ona MM? you gotta take kick anyway, how viable would the other two be? Kick on my MM hits decently hard and the animations are blazing fast Just asking if anyone knows where the new exact numbers are.
  11. It messed around with the RP of my character so it had to go obviously. Why would people be so excited about a little endurance anyway?
  12. Beam Rifle has some really good synergies. I've been playing with it and having a good time. Its got a solid mechanic in Disintegrate, since you can auto put it on with a high damage attack followed by an instant snipe and the quick basic shot. IT has a solid -resit debuff, as well as good damage types. It has fast attacks. If you like guns instead of casting, beam rifles come in a wide variety, from rifles to goofy gadgets. I've been using it with Time and its nice, because it has a stun that stacks with Time Stop, and a hard swing attack chain that you can weave into support to blow up harder targets. There are always bosses to target, and its pretty easy to Disintegrate / Shot to spread the love DOT around. I admit it has terrible AOE, like just terrible, so I don't think its great for burning down packs but between the stun from Time and Beam Rifle, it does decent Solo since it easily locks down targets and does decent AOE as long as the dps isn't so high everything instantly dies. Between Time and Beam it puts out -650% Regen for AV targets, always nice to have on a defender, as well as throwing out Mag 8 Stuns. I'd recommend it with any spec that has a stun or a good AOE slow, its a good powerset with some nice perks for groups.

  14. We were doing the Task Force Who Will Die #1. In it, at one point the Lost are trying to steal Synapses' powers, and you stop them. They're using a giant oblisk in a sea of fire. It all went well until... Later I noticed I was running fast. Like really fast. I have a Temporary Power called Synaptic Resistance that isn't going away. I've done at least three missions and its been over an hour. The buff gives +100% endurance, +15% defenses all positions, immobilize immunity, and +80MPH run speed. I can barely control my character now, he has a weird blue speedster outline, and it makes my earth wizard both impossible to control and look weird. What is going on here? Did I somehow bug out a step of the TF? We did finish it. How can I get rid of this? Is there any way in CoH to drop buffs? It is really annoying and jarring. To everyone else, BE CAREFUL IF YOU DO THIS TF!
  15. This seems to lack aoe. What combos are used in grouts to deal with trash. Do you have any combos for controllers that don't AOE as well?
