  1. The problem is that CoH has a plethora of systems tacked on top of systems. If you've ever actually tried to explain something to a brand new player, their response to a lot of things is typically "what?" Because different things were added over the course of years. It might not seem significant to you (or me, for that matter), but CoH is actually pretty overwhelming for newer players. Making enhancements literally unfundable and having to worry about grinding influence, and reading a guide just to literally have basic crap like SOs is just another thing new players have to keep track of and look out for. But why should they not be able to afford basic enhancements? Playing without them feels bad, especially if you don't really know what you're doing, which a new player generally wouldn't. It just makes the game feel worse.
  2. Too bad you need to buy clothes IRL if you want to go outside. But I digress. You might not remember, but I do. On my first character that I leveled back in 2004, I literally did not have a full suite of SOs until I was in my 40s, and that was with someone giving me a little bit of extra influence. Once I had a 50 the game began to fund itself. But telling a new player to essentially beat the game before they can actually have money to do anything is, I'll be honest, really stupid and a bad take.
  3. Literally just put an icicle on your knee like Sub-Zero for the Ice Melee version. For Fiery Melee just put some fire on your leg like you're a firebender, I guess.
  4. Total Focus and Tremor aren't using different animations, it's the same animation with a different particle effect. Which many sets in this game do. Air Superiority, Haymaker, Bone Smasher, Havoc Punch, Lingering Radiation, and more things I can't think of all use the same animation, for example.
  5. This would also be nice for female characters who use a male or huge costume as some sort of transformation, like a mech suit. Similarly, I'd also like if a Hero could use Villain badges, and vice versa.
  6. Well then by that logic it should also do more damage than it currently does as the blast version of psionic tornado does more damage than the AoEs that recharge in 16s. But right now it does less damage and recharges slower.
  7. I'm aware they nerfed things for PVP and things that reduced XP gain. While I said any I was more specifically referring to ATs or powers. The few nerfs you did list that fits that criteria are all pretty minor, though. Much lower than these epic power changes. You'd also only have 4 more years worth of things before the game shut down, and for three years these are all together fairly small changes. But one thing I thought of that's toward the end of the game was nerfing the Cimeroran lore pets. But anyway. Is there any reason why the brute/tanker version of psionic tornado has a 40s recharge time and not 32 like every other AoE they have access to (sans Ice Storm)? It also costs more end and recharges slower. The 50% chance for knockup is definitely not it being worse than it's competition in literally every other way.
  8. For better or worse, the actual Paragon devs followed this, though. When was the last time they nerfed anything? Issue 6 with ED? Global defense nerf and HO nerfs, as well as any individual powerset nerf I can think of all predate issue 6.
  9. Imagine making any changes to slow down farming in the year MMXXIV.
  10. The cottage rule is honestly only used as a defense when it suits the argument. Cryptic, Paragon, and Homecoming break the rule many times.
  11. You realize we're on your side, right? We're saying that the powers you want because they fit the theme of your character should be as good as the competition!
  12. Agreed. I feel bad because I kind of echoed her sentiment, but I would much, much rather have the reduced cast time.
