  1. I've been trying to make a bind or macro to use one of the base teleport power to insta-travel to my SG base without clicking it. One-click base portin'! I've tried things like the one below (and the other prestige/day job powers) but it seems the different base teleportation powers doesn't "work" like other powexec-commands? Do they just have really convoluted unknown names? I mean they do exist on the popmeny that we know as Fast Travel so they should be able to be added to macros and binds? If I understand things correct I should also change the order of them because things execute backwards? But in the log it first says the power doesn't exist, then that it can't use the passcode without (being close to) a portal /macro_image "Veteran_TeleportBase" "Base Tp" "Supergroup_Portal$$Enterbasefrompasscode PASSCODE-196" Edit: I got this working: /macro_image "Veteran_TeleportBase" "Base Tp" "Powexec_location Me Monitor Duty Teleporter$$Enterbasefrompasscode PASSCODE-196" but I have to double click the macro. Still beats moving the mouse about or having a second macro/bind. Seems I was too eager to put under scores in the powers? Also works for powers that doesn't spawn a portal: /macro_image "Veteran_TeleportBase" "Base Tp" "Powexec_name Base Transporter$$Enterbasefrompasscode PASSCODE-12531"
  2. I've been banging my head against a wall trying to set up a macro that activates one of the base powers, but it seems there's no pow_exec for them? At first I though it would be as easy as /macro_image "Veteran_TeleportBase" "Base Tp" "Supergroup_Portal$$Enterbasefrompasscode PASSCODE-196" ...But of course it wasn't. It actually worked the first time around, so someone probably just activated a portal near me and I was so happy. The whole double/tripple click to get to the base; activating one of the base tp powers (and clicking the portal) then having to click on the sg-base every damn time is really annoying for me for some reason. Given that the Fast Travel meny is a popmenu with those powers there has to be a way to activate them? It would be so nice to have a couple of those in a tray for instant one-click base tp. Edit: I got this little one to work, but have to double click the macro. Still beats anything else I've seen: /macro_image "Veteran_TeleportBase" "Base Tp" "Powexec_location Me Monitor Duty Teleporter$$Enterbasefrompasscode PASSCODE-196" Also works for powers that doesn't spawn a portal: /macro_image "Veteran_TeleportBase" "Base Tp" "Powexec_name Base Transporter$$Enterbasefrompasscode PASSCODE-12531"
  3. Has anyone done an updated version of "best of" list for this? This is how I've done it, but there's room for improvement. L1-14: Officer Wincott vs the Trolls : Probably better redside or Praetorian L15-19: Deadlock's personal story (won't work once they change things, but now it's great) L20-24: The Chameleon Suit (Use base power to get back, crystal in the base, out through the portal and you won't have to travel for round 2+. Guessing this won't work after the planned changes.) L25-29: A Madman's Council (while still very easy, there has to be a better one?) L30-34: Smoke and Mirrors (No travel, great, and with stealth it's very fast) L35-39: ??? Haven't done this yet. Not sure what to do really. L40-49: The Hydra Dimension (even nerfed you still kill everything on the 2 maps fast, but with the moved portal in Bricks there's some running involved) L50: The Center's personal story (won't work once they change things) I'm currently running through all blueside arcs, so I got the praetorian tourist anyway.
  4. When you select that, all your enhancements are temporarily turned off untill you either compplete the story arc or abort the Ouroboros "task force". Same with inspirations, it's greyed out until you're done. So you don't have to do anything, you're just "naturally" weakened. It can be something of a shock if you're used to you're 50 slotted with a bunch of sets.
  5. I "honestly" expected an egg hunt with a new power slot for every egg found today.
  6. Myeah, ended up giving up totally and started playing on another keyboard. Problem was, even with remapping, I could not use two keys at the same time, so no cirkle strafing etc. Still useful to have it remapped for the odd times I do play on a computer with the keyboard and forget it doesn't work. 🤣
  7. I remember how my SG used to run pvp zone bash-up's where we just lined ourselfs up, two accounts, for people to beat so they could get the arena pet. (And the pvp badges.) It was not.. unpopular. 🤣
  8. Is there a list of rewards for badges somewhere, not counting the accolades? Like: Rewards for day jobs (Temp powers etc) Rewards for invention badges (more space etc) XP (Exploration badges, any other badges?) Anything else I don't really remember since live?
  9. Ah, heck everything really deals a little damage? Turns out Time Crawl does a wee little damage too. At level 6 I'm already up to 2.036 points of damage dealt even if none has registered on the "damage inflicted". I have to admit I'm getting a wee bit depressed about this.
  10. Yes, I'll probably have to go that route sooner or later, or but MSR isn't very xp profitable though. For now, I'm going for all the badges I can get that gives xp just to see how far that takes me.... Some interesting notes: Level 2-3: Exploration badge 10 XP Level 4: 20 XP That's quite a jump between 3 and 4, weird level 3 doesn't give 15 XP. History badges: No XP. Still getting them though. 😁 I guess I need to find out what badges does give xp so I don't waste time on the ones that doesn't. So far I've done: Regular zones: Atlas, Kings, Steel Hazard: Faultline, Perez, Hollows, echo DA, echa Galaxy, Boomtown and Crey's folly. ...and that barely got me to level 4. Edit: Finally made it to level 5 after doing Skyway as well. Twinshot first mission, let them fight, not much XP for two dudes. Technically due to the story arc it's really cosplay/sparring even if we're supposed to not know it, so I've still been a good boy, no thugs where harmed making this character. 🤣with 20 xp per exp badge and 1.000 xp to go it's quite obvious even with every badge there is, including redside, that won't take me very far. I'll have a nice stack of merits, but not much xp. Soooo.... Any good tips of missions I can do peacefully on the way?
  11. ...Oh, and most non-combat missions, like architect entertainment tour, doesn't give any xp. Damn... I made a fool of myself, not being able to find the exp badge just inside city hall. Then I realised not all badges gives XP. I got two badges when I finished Atlas Park explorer badges, but only got the five merits, no xp. 10 xp per badge at level 2, so that's 22 badges to get just to get to level three... Anyway, even if I of course make up my own rules: Is it cheating if I have someone mentor me while i get the badges in high level zones? I tried out Twinshots first missions with a fire/fire blapper today, and while I can let the other NPC heroes do the fighting successfully, they're so bugged it's a pain and the xp is very random. Sometimes I don't get any att all when Twinshot "arrests" an arachnos liutenant, other times I seem to get xp even when not fighting at all. (I suppose I might have to initiate fighting to make sure I get some.) I technically sort of still see this as a light version of pacifism, like military priests and doctors. I have to give myself some slack, because this is pretty much an impossible task even from the start. I'm not even sure I'll get to level 5 by getting the badges that are possible to get. Edit: If anyone else tries this, remember to level up as soon as you level up. I took another 7 exploration badges, earning just 10 xp when I leveled up. Given that it's just a base tp away nowadays that was... golly good gosh, oh the pain and suffering, stupid! Level three barely after all badges in Atlas, Kings and Steel...
  12. Some lessons learned from todays testing on a ice/time troller: Damage IS dealt in the tutorial. At first I didn't think so since no badge tracker appeared, so I started working on Isolator and suddenly I had dome more than a thousand points of damage. I made a new character (psi/time troller) and turned on damage tracking. Every attack against the infected does indeed do 10-15 points of damage. Apparently not enough to start the badge tracker if you just complete the tutorial. I guess I should try skipping the tutorial or doing it together with someone, letting them dish out the clobbering. One way or another I obviously need to get some damage done and I have a faint memory of it not working for others to do it for me (skipping tutorial doing just buffing in a team some months ago does ring a bell). That's enough for me to gain 10 xp for my first expolration badge, with another 210 points needed for level 3. I'll run out of exploration badges quickly. 🤣 I could make a lot of inventions for the invention badges I suppose. Would cost a lot of money even if I run TFs on other alts for recipes and materials. I can skip a whole lot of missions as time goes by, by using auto complete. It is a bit like cheating though, but I do think that would end up being sort of necessary sooner or later. I've started scouring Ouroboros for possible missions/arcs but so far I haven't found any that doesn't contain at least some minor degree of fighting. Gonna look through the thread about Ouroboros badges though, since that would be another set of possible badges to add some minor xp. Why psi/time? Well, it's a set I haven't done before. I haven't really done an empath since way back in early pre-IO days, but I don't think people realise how much empaths do bring to the table early on when everyone is still having end problems. Then again, not many know anything about time either, except that it's almost as annoying as sonic blasts. 😜 (If I stepped on any toes, I'm sorry, didn't mean that as serious as you thought.) I do think Time is the best secondary at the moment for some reason, still not sure about primary, not that I'll take a whole lot of them. This will be... complicated... I might have to go with a somewhat more generous "I don't do more damage than necessary", the Pater Familias road (what would the good father do? Example: I might have to hurt you a little to stop you from hurting yourself or others.)
  13. Wow! I didn't really expect this (or any) kind of response. Thanks all, you've made me think way more about this than i.. um.. though... My initial idea was to give myself a challenge, doable but complicated, I though: To walk through the game 1-50 without getting a single point in my "damage done" badge counter. I didn't concern myself too much really about the ethical implications since I don't really do RP. I do find that kind of discussion interesting both from a game/challenge perspective and in actual real life, but I was mostly thinking of "Is it cheating" in this context. Of course in the end that is up to me, but there's always going to be people arguing that I "cheated" for all sorts of reason (Oh, he used 2xXP, that's cheating, Oh, he use base teleportation, cheater!). While dark or kin would definitely be more popular in teams because they "feel" more useful (my main kin will always have a team even with people sporting perma-hasten), I felt that an Empath would "feel" right (and also not something I've really played even if my main back in the days where all healers (thermal bad guys). Having such a power set and a proper name to go with it would clearly signal even from the start that this is not a damage dealer. Teams wouldn't really matter much since I've got supportive people that has no understanding whatsoever why anyone would do such a stupid and pointless thing. But they're supportive! 🤣 I'll have to look in to the tutorial, but I'm pretty sure the damage does count in there too. I recently realised I've sort of tried this before: I went to pick up all exp badges to "level up without fighting" once, and never checked my reward window until I was through 3-4 zones and started to wonder why I never levelled up. (I ended up deleting that char and didn't play again for two weeks.) I had completely blocked that out of my memory. The question is, does it even work if someone else does the damage or do I personally have to deal some damage before I start making xp on the "side stuff". The first challenge for me is basically to find out how far I can get by just getting all exp badges, plaques etc I can get. The next challenge is to find out how many/which missions can be done without any voilence at all (completely ghostable). Can I do them +4/8 with stealth/celerity? Can I get far enough to start using the crystal and repeat some ad nauseum? To be honest I don't really expect the solo experience to last very long but want to go as far as possible despite the horrendous 30-40 gap. When all else fails, be a support(ive) character that advocates peaceful solutions in huge teams that don't listen to me and "defeat" every huge mob they come across. 😇 As several of you pointed out, most teams seem to be ok with people as long as they share the danger and don't hug the door even if they don't "see" people doing a lot. My recent run as a debuffer corr does contain a lot of nuking, but most of the run people have seen me make enemies shine in various bright colours while I mostly stand still, preserving my rare, precious endurance that can't really cope with all the toggles. I'm pretty sure half of them don't understand what I bring to a big team since mobs go down in 1-2 seconds and my toggles take longer than that to set up. Still not ever seen anyone complain. That single AM every now and then is usually enough to for people to say "Oh, he contributes!". That is what makes me come back over and over again, the friendly, non-elitist community that in my experience makes this game completely unique from any other MMO I've tried.
  14. Hmm, been running around debuffing with a corr for the last few days. Didn't thing fear, confuse, sleep did any damage at all. I know most holds (all?) and immob do damage as well. But damn, so you HAVE to do some damage before you even start making xp out of exp badges. Well, then it's already failed even before I started. I didn't really mind a team doing a bunch of damage as long as my "damage done" doesn't go up. I guess I could have someone do the initial seal clobbering for me and then go for the exp badges etc? That still doesn't take you very far though. Don't mind that it takes time generally, but I do opt for efficiency. Looks like I'll have to go back to the drawing board.
  15. Every summer/vacation needs a new project. I'm thinking about going non-violent in CoH this summer, to level up a character without doing any damage at all on the way, but I do require some input: Basic premise: Don't earn a single "damage dealt" point up until level 50 Do you think using Confuse to let them kill each other is cheating? How about playing in teams that do damage but I still only do holds, immobilize etc and healing? I don't really see a way of going all the way to 50 without that. Archetype and build? Right now I'm thinking ice/empath controller. Ice slick etc will help me get away without dealing damage. Then again, Mind control with the confuse could be useful if we don't think of that as cheating. Would you suggest any other AT/powersets? First bunch of levels isn't too hard, all exp badges and plaques with double xp on. After that there is single missions and story arcs with more role playing elements, but most of them do end with some combat. Even glowie mission often require killing, (cough), defeating and arresting everything in the last room. So, any tips on the way up, any good missions/arcs?

    Elec(Elec/Mu

Well, I've never ever actually used another persons builds, but they're great inspiration. But I'm interested to hear people discuss the new end mods as well. Are they useful or not in an "endgame" build? Last time I played a blaster/blapper was before Redside was a thing, so there's a wee bit of changes since then. Any inspiration; builds or otherwise could be useful for a once wanna-beeee bz bz Kid Flash that grew old. Too old for this sh... 😛 I have to say, playing with a dark troller and fire blapper I'm stunned(pun intended) by the raw DPS output we can produce and how little debt we've gathered.

    Elec(Elec/Mu

Almost 50 with my first Blaster since early life days and of course I made an Elec/Elec/Mu because... It's scary in clockwork missions to hear that zapping. Currently superspeeding around madly. Anyway, with some new enhancements on the market, and being able to go the Mu route...hmm.. I'd love to have some build inspirations. I'll end up doing my own crazy thing that people will say "That's... um, not so smart!" ...but it's fun! I'm already expecting the "Oh, that's not a very good combo". So... have at it, inspire me. I love a good combo of ZAPPing and running in nuking/blappin' so far. Playing together with a troller and another blaster works surprisingly well, very little debt so far. Edit: The one thing I always do is make sure I can run Posi1 stealthy, that is celerity + some more stealth, either SS or Stealth.
  18. Been away from the game for a couple of months and came back a couple of weeks ago. Logging on today I realised how, uhm, not very smart my question was. Oh well...
  19. That thing about not attuning purples because they're attuned by default and you might want to boost them... Does that count for "superior" AT enhancements as well, or just purples? Sadly hadn't thought of attuning purples as a "bad thing" on my main alt (mainly because it took another 2 months before I could out you can +1 stuff like the recharges in hasten etc (not really worth it for most people, I know).
  20. If there's one thing I think we'd all like to see, it's two autopowers, isn't it? Not jsut for the doms. I try to conceptualize future alts early, make them and stick them in day job locations so they get the base tp and the other powers early, once you get the accolades 1+1 day job stuff those extra powers/charges gets quite useful quickly, especially at lower levels. Revive team mate at l10? Yeah, useful! Extra powers: Please yes, Posi 1 ftw!!! Hang out, logged on, in Pocket D for - what is it, 30 minutes - then log off and back in for the Pocket D Teleport power. Get the P2W stuff in outbreak before going hunting for the badge (Oh well, I was the villain badge hunter back in the days...) "Inner inspiration" - clear out 3 spots and use it whenever you can. Mail yourself big insps Keep a mail to yourself (global) so you can REPLY instead of making a new mail every time - THIS is my number one bloody f.. hack! ALWAYS save one mail. Die and pay off debt quickly for a free P2W revive power. Debt is nothing anyway. Mentor an alt for 12 hours (or any mentoring) for free P2W Assemble team power (am I a cheapskate or what?) Base tp? Would never buy it, log off by base "portal" until you get day job badge, then log off there some more to charge up the base tp, 30 charges. It's worth mentioning twice given some TF:s. Today I also came across a temp power that gives me ½ level of patrol xp, five charges. Anyone know how I got that one? Semms very handly in the later "dead" (slooow) level range.
  21. I've finally found a working solution and it comes from unexpected sources... Microsoft Powertoys: https://github.com/microsoft/PowerToys ...has a keyboard mapping tool. Just install, go to settings and you'll find it. Takes about five minutes to completely remap the "gaming" keys. Unfortunately at this point it doesn't let you save different configurations like the old merc software did, but hey, let's face it... We basically play only one game...
  22. Hmm, neither of those two files are in my folder, or to be found on any of my computers. Would've surprised me though since I'm not syncing that folder. I think the wdw file(s) only exist if you have actually saved the layout with /wdw_save and since my last crash I haven't done that. Come to think of it, all the layouts for my characters where still there after that... It can't possibly be saved server-side, can it? Oh, f.kk my camel backwards! I guess I could save the layout with /wdw_save and then use /wdw_load each time I load a character but that's... (...zoning out, playing PS4, returning next week.) Edit: /wdw_save_file and /wdw_load_file of course, nothing else (and they save to data as default by the way)
  23. Tried googleing it too but there doesn't seen to be a list of the folders CoX uses. I know I've found this folder at some time before and transfered it from one computer to another back in the days. The situation now, where I can only play on one computer or I'll have to rearrange the whole UI every time I load a character is making me depressed. Having to move my over sized microphone, webcam etc (for discord) between my "work" computer and the "fun" computer, it's just too much, ending in me playing PS4 instead.
  24. I just noticed that OneDrive syncs my UI save files so when I change the ui on one computer and move over to play on another with a (much) higher resolution that's... Not good! For some weird reason I can't find these files anywhere though, so... Where do they default to? (Save location) I assume it's somewhere in the user document folder? One of the hidden ones?
  25. They've got a whole section of "gaming keys" set in a pattern that is wonderfully easy to find. Playing with awsd etc is near to impossible once you get used to that left side layout. Sadly... My hands are just used to finding that version of shift, alt, ctrl + number keys. I now hit tab+1 when trying to activate my second set of powers, not to mention fly into walls etc when I hit the wrong key to turn around. Yeah, sure, I'll get used to it, but it's been a 15 year habit playing on this and my other two identical keyboards. I know others share this pain; the Merc Stealth is quite expensive if you try getting one nowadays. Right now the left side AND the number keypad isn't working in any way that is functional at all. (keys starting web browser etc, number keys not working at all...) In my case it was even worse, windows kept crashing on every update and reverted until in finally one day failed that too and I had to do a clean install.
