At the beginning that attack chain is fine but end game you'll want to use the higher damage Midnight Grasp > Smite > Siphon Life.
One with the shield is definitely skippable but it is a nice o poop button.

It's an endurance hog currently but Dark Consumption is up often enough that I don't have to worry too much about endurance. I will probably be completely overhauling it soon.
So I take it that the reason its not good late game is due to the reliance on smashing damage?
Is Soul Mastery a requirement for your build? Just curious about maybe Conserve Power/Physical Perfection Route for End shifters/heal sets or maybe Leviathan for Hibernate?
