  1. Dr. Vahz in Posi 2 gave me the most trouble. I was exemplared to 16 for that one, of course, so that didn't help--two little minions and one medium was all I got. When all the additional mobs arrived, I eventually had to back off and heal up. But when I did, the little mobs followed me and he didn't. So my guys killed them, then I came back, found him alone, and dropped him. And Vandal (was that Citadel's TF? I think it was Citadel) stunned me and dropped my toggles at one point, and by the time I had my debuffs up again he had ALMOST killed me, and he'd killed most of the pets. But I was able to recover and get him. The clockwork king was the easiest of all--he gave me no trouble I could remember, except at low health he started running around, which was annoying. I didn't get to Manticore today, but if I remember right, you have to kill an AV, then you have to kill that one a second time and another one with him. And Numina's end-boss is Jurassic, a monster, which should be much harder. Those will be more interesting tests, for sure.
  2. That build looks beautiful. I notice you did NOT go with choking cloud. Do you not feel that it's an effective enough controller for lesser bad-guys? I also see that you took Mutation and Fallout, neither of which work with your pets. Are they meant to make you more useful for groups?
  3. I appreciate that advice. I've never taken Choking Cloud before, but I will this time to see how it performs! In my own sketched-out build, which is a close mash-up of the above offering, I still have two powers I can pick that I'm not totally married to. I'll use Choking Cloud for one of them. I'm on a mission. I hear so much about how well /time performs to make your minions unkillable. I like unkillable. But as I said before, I don't enjoy running with /time. I'm hoping (desperately) that I can do just as well with /rad. Because I think /rad is so much fun... and it turns AVs and monsters into paste and asks so little in return. I'm running through an initial toon (sort of a test-toon) right now: necro/ rad. He's only 30 so far. He's soloed all the Task Force Commander TFs but the final two (about to do Manticore today) and my, is he beastly. I know that this doesn't really say anything about the challenges of the end-game--they're very different. I know that. But I'll get to those things, too, in time. If they defeat me, they defeat me, and this will be a learning experience. What I really want is a great bots/ toon. I've always thought bots were the coolest. If I can do well in the end game with this necro/ toon, I'll make a bots/ rad and (hopefully) love him, cherish him, put him on my page 1 with all my 50s I actually like and want to keep playing. That's my goal.
  4. You're a life-saver. I've been spending days trying to get pines or Mids to work for my MM.
  5. Thanks for the friendly clarification. I downloaded that thing on the first page, but when installing it, it informed me: Blocking Issues: The .NET Framework 4.7.2 is not supported on this operating system. I'm running Windows 8.1.
  6. Yeah, I don't know what that means, either. But thanks for the response.
  7. I'm having this same problem. I do not know what "a clean .net reinstall" is. I have pines and it works for almost everything I need, but I was hoping mids would allow me to create masterminds using the newer secondaries (pines crashes if one tries them). But I can't get past the above error message.
  8. Thanks for fast and helpful responses. On some of the AT forums, you get ignored for days, then abused, then ignored some more. Who'd have thought such a naughty AT would have such a pleasant community? I'll create a /rad MM this very day and see how it goes! Anyone have any other strategies or build ideas?
  9. I'm a long-time player of kinetics and radiation defenders and love them. I wanted to explore the viability of these secondaries on a mastermind. Folks have talked about kinetics, and I get the impression that it makes wonderfully violent pets that don't survive very well. I can grasp that. But I'm wondering about /radiation, too. My rad/ sonic defender can solo just about anything in the game (though very slowly). I wondered if I could make an effective mastermind using a similar strategy. Unfortunately, my hero planner crashes when I even make the attempt. It will not load the Radiation set for masterminds. I looked online and saw that people used to have this problem, but everyone says it's fixed now. So I tried to download the latest version of pines. My version insists that it IS, in fact, the latest version. No new updates available. So I installed mids reborn. Upon starting, it covers my screen with error messages that will not go away. AGAIN, on the forums, people say this used to be a problem, but it's fixed now. AGAIN I tried to get the latest version, only to be told that I already have it. I'm not a computer expert. I can barely turn my computer on without help. I just want to look at the viability of these builds. And I'm frustrated to the point of distraction now. Maybe someone can talk about /radiation at level 50, fully slotted. How does it perform? Can it solo well? Does anyone have a good build to share? If it doesn't work well, I won't keep pursuing it. Everyone swears by /time, and I know /time is effective (at least for a defender, it is), but I find it clunky and unpleasant to manage. It's just not very compatible with my play-style. I'm really hoping for a viable strategy that uses one of the sets I already love. If this isn't possible, I will adapt and overcome.
  10. As I really like stalkers, and I really like min-maxed toons, I'm very interested in how good I can make a stalker's damage output using the various secondaries that add directly to it. On paper, at least, Bio seems to do that better than any other. But yes, there's also Shield with its + to damage per enemy in melee range. I've played two shield stalkers to 50 now (elec, for the AoE madness, and a broadsword for the big hits). I like shield. But I want to try several different options. I'm also interested in stalkers using the SR, electricity, or energy +20% to recharge. Those could make a difference in performance as well. But nothing looks more promising on paper than Bio for its damage buff. I understand it's a set that requires regular clicking, which can potentially disrupt a good attack sequence. But can it be managed for maximum performance? I am excited to see how it works when the rubber meets the road. And I'm glad to have a build in-hand that will give it a fair shake.
  11. It looks delightful. Thanks for the response. I'm looking forward to giving this a whirl.
  12. Here's another attempt to provoke a decent build from someone out there. I've removed my travel power for Hasten (I guess I'll make do with a P2W hover-board or something) and four-slotted Kick for the Kinetic Combat set bonus. Defenses are getting respectable: fire/ cold is still capped, S/L is 40.3%, Energy/ Neg is 36.7%, Psi is 23.6%, S/ L resists are capped. Used Moonbeam from Soul Mastery, since it's popular among Stalkers, but it might as well be a mule. I slotted it with Siphon Insight purely for the defense set bonus. Not sure if that's a good idea or not, but as I said, I'm scrambling for defense right now. As the helpful poster above mentioned, recharge is only 77.5%, but at least Hasten is there now. As I've said, I'm not very good at this. But I'm doing my best. I truly wish one of the experts would weigh in with a tried-and-true end-game build. I'm starting to suspect that there isn't one--maybe viable StJ / Bio stalkers are like Santa Claus: everybody talks about them, but they don't actually exist (yet). 13. 1) This is not 257.5% recharge. Ageless gradually decreases to 10% (maybe 12%) and does not really give you as much recharge, by the minute and a half mark, you have lost 2/3's of Ageless benefit. Further, unless you are running around spamming Kick all the time, you cannot rely on Forced Feedback (all the time meaning at least once every 5 seconds, which you'd probably need to kick 2-3 times to pull this off.) I'm not trying to be rude, but saying you have a ridiculous number such as "257.5% without Hasten" is not accurate. If you aren't going to allow kick to disrupt a good ST and AOE chain, you have 87.5% recharge (possibly 97.5% if you really want to count Ageless' end recharge number). 2) Hide being turned on in Mids Reborn is not accurate of hide when broken (your actual defense numbers) your actual defense numbers really need improvement. 3) This is true, but Bio very well can be made to survive quite nicely if it is properly slotted, in this case, it will not. You need to use your actual recharge numbers, not rely on Kick which will lower your DPS by considerable amounts, and you need to turn Ageless off. I would heavily consider revising this build and making your endurance issues subside enough so that you can run Barrier and cap things much easier and have an entire period of almost 20 seconds of pure invincibility. I didn't realize that the Kick enhancement or the ageless would be factored into the number I got on my total. Thanks for letting me know. Thanks for taking the time to offer a critique. All of this advice sounds wonderful. I am such an amateur at this. But... I've asked, BEGGED, even, for someone who knows what they're doing (which is not me) to post a build. A build. A build. Please. I even posted my own awful attempts at builds, because people sometimes say that if you want help, you should post one. I posted two. And still, nobody seems to want to actually post one that works. Even with the critique... no build. Is there something else I need to do to get the help I need?
  14. This is an alternate version that sacks Physical Perfection to use Ring of Fire as a mule. Any ranged epic attack would work, really. But that gives me a little more set bonus damage, and squeezing out more damage is what the build is really all about. I guess I'll know, when I get close to the 40s, whether or not I'll be endurance-efficient enough to want to go this way. http://www.cohplanner.com/mids/download.php?uc=1585&c=736&a=1472&f=HEX&dc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
  15. Alright, I've mocked one up. Maybe this can draw criticism, at least, if not someone's actual build. http://www.cohplanner.com/mids/download.php?uc=1624&c=740&a=1480&f=HEX&dc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y biggest concerns so far: 1) No hasten. But I have 257.5% recharge, so maybe I don't need it. I don't know. 2) I've slotted Genetic Corruption with Fortuna Hypnosis, because it's the only purple. BUT: using Lethargic Repose instead would give me a little defense, which I could still use. I'm not sure whether or not FH is a mistake. 3) Still somewhat underwhelming for defense and resists, even though I squeezed it out from just about every place I could find (except point 2 above). Only fire and cold defense is capped, and only S/L resist is capped. I know that I'm not a tank, but it's nice to be capped if possible, right? Maybe Bio isn't the defense set for that, since its protections are all over the page. Or maybe there's a way to do better that I haven't seen. That's why I'm asking for help! Thanks.
