Sleep Grenade, Flash Bang and Tear Gas actually do alot of damage

Flash Bang does next to nothing without procs.  Its base damage is something like 12 at level 50, but since it's considered Ranged AoE you can fill it with procs if you want damage from it and it procs well; I have Will of the Controller and Annihilation slotted in it and I see the procs hit most of the mobs with every cast.

  2. It does both.  It converts knockback to knockdown AND adds a chance for knockdown.  However, my understanding is that the chance for KD can trigger alongside a power's normal knockdown/knockback, resulting in a stacking knockdown that causes a knockback anyway.  Because of that I personally don't use it as a KB>KD and usually stick it in a power that doesn't have any knock to begin with and one that benefits from damage buffs.  Typically I put it in an AoE damage power like Irradiate, Sweeping Strike, Fire Ball, etc. where it also benefits from the damage enhancement component as well.

  3. It's been a little bit, now that we've had Arsenal Control in our hands for a time how are people slotting it?  It's such a quirky set that a lot of my normal slotting practices don't seem to work and i'm genuinely not sure if I should slot the control effects or the debuffs in some of them.  Take Smoke Canister for instance, I originally wanted to slot Confuse like normal but the Confuse seems to go away just after the smoke clears so I opted for a ToHit Debuff set instead.  Also procs seem to not work in the patches either thanks to pseudopet mechanics.  Sleep Grenade and Liquid Nitrogen also have me wondering about idea slotting, and while I've got a Hold set in Tear Gas I wonder if the damage would be worth boosting.

As of now i'm only confident with my slotting for Flashbang and Tri-Cannon.  What is everyone else putting into this set?

Also, extra question concerning Liquid Nitrogen.  Since the damage is triggered by knockdown, does the damage occur only from LN's knockdown effect or will any other source of knockdown deal damage within the patch too?  I have Arse/TA and i'm wondering if stacking LN with Oil Slick is causing LN's damage to trigger more often.  Of course they're on fire anywau but more damage is more damage.

  4. There's a bunch of TFs that were designed before Incarnates were a thing.  While you'd have to convince people not to use Incarnate stuff you can run a lot of things without.  Ms. Liberty TF, Lord Recluse TF, Lady Grey TF, Imperious, Dr. Kahn, and Barracuda all predate Incarnates and are perfectly doable without; Lord Recluse also has a challenge through Ouroboros that encourages exactly that by playing the original TF (with Statesman and Sister Psyche) while disabling Incarnates and invention set bonuses.  Of course they're not quite street level, street heroes usually aren't challenging the Legion of Doom all at once, but still.

I asked ChatGPT to make an Invulnerability/Super Strength Tank build for me today.

I am running the Oroborus Flashback mission Defeat All Clockwork Leaders, mission contact is Tina Macintyre. While clearing the NPCs the following text errors were noticed:

I'm not seeing errors.  Praetorian Clockwork "speak" in developer code, often with if-then statements and a bunch of shorthand.  This is intentional and mentioned a number of times in the Praetorian storyline, notably brought up when Metronome possesses Clockwork and speaks plainly.

  7. Not a typo, just outdated information.

When speaking to Sgt. Goddard as part of General Hammond's orientation mission, he mentions that you'll be returned to Firebase Zulu's hospital if you're defeated anywhere in the Shadow Shard.  There are medical stations in every Shadow Shard zone these days so you won't go all the way back anymore.

  8. It's been possible to get under the floor in the reactor room since the days of live, I know I got under there with my Peacebringer back in the day by Dwarf Teleporting through gaps in the floor.  I do recall being able to fly around under there in Nova form and being able to attack foes however.  All that said, it's just that they didn't seal up any cracks in the floor after they made the map so you can put targeting reticules through it.

  9. Here's a random discussion idea I had.  Given that Praetoria is established as a mirror universe similar to that of Star Trek's mirror universe or Sealab's Superman's Bizarro world, it's a given that many major characters have alternate selves with different personalities and lore, and sometimes even different powers altogether (Siege for instance who upgraded from Citadel's body style to that of a War Walker).  But what about mirror versions of your own selves?  Many of us have numerous characters that originate from Primal or Praetoria, but have you ever made a character meant to be the alternate universe of one?  If so, what's different about them?  Is your best Hero's counterpart in league with the Big Dogs?  Maybe your Villain is carrying out missions with the Resistance forces?  And of course if you had one that started in Praetoria, what of their Primal counterpart?

  10. I always see shouts for scanner missions, but never tips.  Alignment tips are some of my favorite content because they have their own mini narratives and feel much more organic than just listening to the police radio or reading a newspaper, plus you get a bunch of merits for the 11th one! And they mostly accomplish the same goal as scanners/papers if you don't just blitz the objectives.

Honestly, please add more alignment tips!  10 per level range isn't enough.

  11. Hate to bring this back but I had one of these happen a couple days ago.  Sky Raider force fields, did they always not have Hold protections?  I swear they did but after running into them recently I noticed I was just holding them straight away.  While level would have been a factor (the mag protection was only 2.5) when I looked it up on CoD it didn't list Hold, only Stun and Immobilize.  I went back and confused one on another character and there was no hold protection for sure.  No Psi defense either incidentally.

  12. It's best to look at Praetorian alignments as analogues to Dungeons and Dragons alignments.  This is how I look at the four major stories:

RESISTANCE: Chaotic, you don't support the laws of Praetoria so you make your own way

    • Warden: Chaotic Good - You work to bring down the empire with subterfuge and propaganda, typically involving exposing harsh truths
    • Crusader: Chaotic Evil - You aim to bring down the empire with force, typically through acts of terrorism.

LOYALIST: Lawful, you support the Empire and do what you want within their established systems

    • Responsibility: Lawful Good - You aim to protect the people who reside within the empire for selfless reasons
    • Power: Lawful Evil - You use the codes and systems set forth for your own betterment for fame, glory, and status among the elite.

There are two additional storylines where you go undercover with the other faction and keep in touch with Marchand/Scott the whole way.  Those blend the lines quite a bit but somewhat stay within their faction's alignment.

Your character concept would probably best fit the Power storyline, and you'll get plenty of opportunities to bring down the hammer on various dissidents along the way for sure.  But it won't be exactly what you're asking for.

You may also consider the Infiltrate Resistance story, but that will involve running missions for the Resistance which might go counter to your stated goals.  You may also have to remake your characrer as in order to get access to this you have to play the tutorial, tell the Clockwork to go topside, and then tell Maurader it was you who did it as Reese tries to take credit.  You then have to find the first Warden contact who won't be labeled until you speak to him.

EDIT: A third option if you instead don't care about the story is that at level 5 you'll get a contact that offers repeatable non-story missions.  You can just keep calling that contact and focus on missions you deem as eliminating dissenters like Resistance, Syndicate and Destroyers.  You won't get any reward merits or storyline badges if you go this route however, if you care about that.

Are Mayhem missions simply les popular than they were before Sunset?  I'm getting surprisingly little attention from attempts to start one, even when other stuff is getting posted in LFG.

There's a new contact that lets you farm them if you have the Hero Slayer badge, which is easy enough to get from a single round of Who Will Die part 4.  Plus they tend to be time consuming and don't yield as much exp as just beating up warehouses full of Council.

  14. /Earth is probably uncommon simply because it's a newer set that was cobbled together when Seismic Blast came out so that Earth/Earth was an option, versus /Ice which was an Issue 0 launch set.  While I can't offer much of an opinion on the combos I would say try them both and see what meshes with you.

  15. I believe this is the result of the pseudopet inheriting caster buffs.  On a Controller I noticed that using Sleep Grenade after popping a red inspiration that the patch had the circling red triangles assoicated with attack buffs.  I'm betting the grenades are simply inheriting Domination when used.

Incidentally I believe I saw this also happen with Arsenal Assault's Trip Mines where I set up a bunch before turning a group hostile while Perma Dom was running and all the mines had the rainbow Domination glow as well.

  16. She's pretty tough, the fact that she routinely uses Build Up and that she has Dull Pain and Unstoppable makes her very difficult to kill without assistance.  She is very weak to Psionics (no resistance compared to capped S/L), but you don't seem to have that so you'll have to find alternatives.  Envenomed Daggers are probably your best option, you could also get some other useful assistance like a Shivan Shard who's energy attacks will be more effective than your smashing.

But don't think that allies "defeats the purpose".  While this one is an outlier (Scirocco actually doesn't tell you to), you're generally told by your contacts when facing a strong boss to bring help.  She's not Scorpion's dragon for nothing.

irradiate has a long base recharge time (20s) making it a prime candidate for proc, can put two -res procs in it and then others as required

i agree that the base -def is strong enough

On my Rad characters, I often double up Fury and Achille's and throw the Overwhelming Force in there too.  It's a real nice way to completely strip resistances away (it boosts the damage of Irradiate a fair bit too since it's a DoT) and the knockdown is useful for reducing incoming damage too.

That said, I don't have a Rad defender, just Rad Blasters and Sentinels.  It's great on my Sentinel though since I can destroy entire spawns with Irradiate > Engulfing Darkness > Atomic Blast.

  18. I have not played an Elec tank but I do have a TW tank (Willpower is my primary).  I can't verify at the moment (damn job) but I believe my attack power picks were Defensive Sweep (the character was made before you could get T2 at level 1), Titan Sweep, Follow Through, Rend Armor and Whirling Smash.  Taunt and Build Momentum as well.  I would have taken Arc of Destruction but I insisted on flight and AoD can't be used in the air.  I'm no expert but I think the consensus is that Crushing Blow is better for getting your momentum going but Defensive Sweep does have a defense bonus (similar to moves like Parry and Divine Avalanche) and can slot a Luck of the Gambler if so desired.  I would say the best powers to skip are Taunt and possibly Defensive Sweep, and skip Arc of Destruction only if you intend on flying all the time like I do.

I think my usual attack chain involved starting with a sweep, into Whirling Smash and Follow Through, filling in Rend Armor and another Sweep before needing to start over.  Use your Epic/Patron AoE between momentum so you're not wasting time for your fast attacks.
