  1. There is a tier list with fairly detailed analyses of each power set (primary and secondary) for Stalkers.
  2. Thanks for the builds. Comparing the two really shows the differences I was looking for. Bio Armor's offensive adaptation along with debuffing resistance seems to be very important.
  3. I'm thinking of making a Willpower / Staff character for fun, but would also be open to Bio Armor. Is there a clear winner between WP and Bio? Does it mostly come down to Bio having a few extra tools, and WP being more passive?
  4. I have made some changes after testing in game. Cimerorans do too much damage when I don't have the ATO proc up. So I found a way to cap S/L resist without it up. Dropping Char down to two slots with Entomb set freed up three slots. One went into Might of the Tanker to get 6% S/L, one for Aegis 5% psionic unique, and the other two went into LOTG global recharge. Here is the updated build:
  5. With a single proc from Superior Might of the Tanker, every resistance is capped. Not including Granite Armor, I'm not aware of any other set that can cap every resistance. If you do know of another similar build with a different set, please share! This build does not softcap defense. It has around 19% to most defenses, plus 7% to-hit debuff from the Beta Decay aura. A medium or two small inspirations can softcap, but I find most teams have plenty of defense buffs to share. It also has Unleash Potential to effectively softcap defenses without inspirations for a limited time. Hasten is not included, but you generally don't need it due to the amount of expensive sets in the build, and the use of Agility or Spiritual in the Alpha slot. Agility is better for the endurance modification, but you can get away with Spiritual for more recharge. You also get additional recharge from enemies in range of Beta Decay. I leave Particle Shielding on auto because it is your most important ability as a Rad Armor tanker. You get a nice absorb, a good amount of regen, and endurance recovery. I was able to tank Crimson Prototype while debuffed to 1 HP thanks to Particle Shielding.
  6. That might be a bit much, depending on how much defense debuff resistance you have. With SR, a typical 7.5% defense debuff will be reduced to 0.375% defense debuffed. A buffer of 2% is plenty to ignore 5 debuffs. With Shield Defense's 66% DDR (single-stacked Active Defense), a 7.5% defense debuff is reduced to 2.5%, so a 5% buffer is useful. Also consider defense debuffs aren't incredibly common unless you're fighting certain enemy types. The extra defense is wasted on most enemies. If you're fighting with a team, they are likely to bring a Maneuvers or two, adding to your buffer. Inspirations can be your backup plan if all else fails. Build for a defense buffer if you want, but I don't consider it necessary to have.
  7. Tanking with 1HP on a Rad Armor tanker is fun. Absorb powers got implemented late in the game, but don't have a counter mobs can do against it.
  8. Super Reflexes is not a great tanking set at end-game, but it can be easy to level. If you really want to make it work, you can. It will survive at end-game, but you may need outside heals due to the lack of healing, and generally low resistances the set has built in. Don't go for defense just because of the 5% hit chance enemies have against you. It is a bit misleading for two reasons. First, the base to-hit for mobs is 50%, so defense drops that down to 5%, meaning you are avoiding 90% of attacks, not 95%. Second, anything above a minion has an accuracy bonus of 15% to 50% (depending LT to AV) which applies after defense. When (not if) you get hit, your lack of resistance means you will lose a large amount of health. As a Tanker holding the attention of 16 mobs at a time, each swinging at you every 2-5 seconds, you will get hit often even with softcapped defense. Tankers and Brutes are the only ATs with 90% resistance cap. Being at the cap, with defense layered on top makes them very very durable. Defense buffs are extremely common on teams, while resistance buffs are rarely available. My advice is to go for a resistance-based Tanker and layer defense on top if you want a very survivable build. If you want a SR character, defense works better on any of the DPS ATs who are limited to 75% resistance instead. If you are dedicated to a certain theme, go for SR and ignore the naysayers (including me). The invention system can make up for SR's weaknesses, at least somewhat.
  9. Yes. The impact of the change was analyzed, discussed, and debated extensively on the test server forum.
  10. That seems like a very high number and conflicts with my experiences. Almost all of my BSODs have been due to software or driver issues, but this was before Windows 7. These days, software-related BSODs are extremely rare but still happen. Bad hardware is most likely the cause of repeated BSODs, but it could be any hardware component. Inominatus needs to run some hardware stress tests to check for bad hardware.
  11. Thanks for posting your build. I was hesitant to make a /Bio stalker due to my previous build attempts on a /Bio Sentinel not reaching the resist and defense goals I had. With a few tweaks to your build, I was able to reach 74.8% S/L resist, 44.7% S/L defense, 44.1% F/C, and 43.5% E/N, without using Barrier. | Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Reborn : Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1565;711;1422;HEX;| |78DA6594D94F135114C6EFD0A958A0D2D2760A94C516D1D24A59A38F46454C9446A| |02E8FCDA48C65626D9B2989E0F2E09FE0161F8CEFA2C644FF031F7D732391A8AFB2| |2F468DCBCB783AE7834ED24926BF73BF7BCE9DEF9E993BC9D9918617A76F1F1392F| |B644E2D95D2A919357745339C4935AB671C82AE5ABA15C8E9A496D3B4C40943BD96| |D3F3D9F08E3CA25DD6F2259AD00BE9734656CDEB99F471E36AC110EEF142219718D| |5B3D33354D0608DC634B54883C69DC1946694A6F5629D354E15356D2A74AAA86712| |9728AF904F27D5D28C66CCED586B263F7D742F280297E910E384882C6A26C049A69| |C627EEB224A56AE10010A0664B1449AC49A2CFD74589AFC8BB9E737F887B97790B9| |4C350EAEA9712C636E8559F7B0C6E227F2E5E41CA7F32DE6DE311BDE831F98FB3E8| |20BCC4585FB5DF6593BCFEBADD0335D58CF05EF9EB39CEF1965369D01B798FE1F4C| |8916AB478FEAD1233F7AA4A0470A7AE4A05C37FAE1FECBF5CDE84B33FAD28ABEB40| |629B15D16ABE4AD916BCCCFE4DDCBCF92BD43ECBD6D181C64761C018F3237A9DE87| |BDF9D0CF0EF473FF2AB806AE33C31B7857B5FC2ACBCF0BA02F613FE8617679411F5| |3A19A20DE5F10355DA83980DC2FB48F16786AB923F3DC5DF01EF3E07DF001F89AF6| |E393C516ED27647D54A63334C1EB1D9A0453E07966CF05F022D34BDEDAB19F7678E| |B81B718F613C33E62F0FA95BC76C26BE72C7B393C075E076F307B6F82B798DBE435| |82331179C3EB7D27ADDB3A28A6E846DFA3F452A3C88BE21B8F9116674D8A3FE6BDF| |73E62C6692EC1DF8133312FACFCBEA7E033F03973E025F88A19A11EF463DDFE38E6| |C090BC7BDECDB64A5C1E9AA6885529FD55CA40953254A50C57296376A597BD8CCBF| |89D902659592E0FFD19E06EA36EF7CF2224546CD9B5307776D3AE45396FDBAEA1DB| |4B953F9DB96C8B576CF17AF924225EB3C51BB6133A1AA4E5103F8954E2A64025FEA| |754E2FF92E303CA| |-------------------------------------------------------------------|
  12. The builder shows you all relevant numbers for each power: damage per activation, damage per second, damage per animation time, recharge, and more. You can even compare two power sets' damage numbers at the same time using the Powerset Comparison tool. If you need help making a build to do damage, look in your desired AT's forum.
  13. I only just found out about Mids Reborn a few weeks ago, when I made my first comment in this thread. I have been playing on Homecoming since early July. The problem isn't going away by ignoring it and placing blame on the users. The developers are the ones in the best position to fix it.
  14. Is an error message on the screen not considered the result of a bug? I'm pushing this because people are still posting builds made in Pines, despite Mids Reborn being the latest and most up-to-date. People are going to run into this, when simple fixes could prevent the errors. Something as simple as "your build was made in Pines and can't be loaded" message could clear things up and prevent the confusion I and others are likely to go through. I have to have both Pines and Mids installed because Mids isn't fully compatible with Pines builds due to the index bug they created. It seems if a goal of the project was to replace Pines, it didn't quite achieve that.
  15. The bug is in Mids, by not doing anything to recognize, alert the user, or account for builds not compatible with it due to them being made in Pines. The database apparently has different IDs for certain powers, compared to Pines. A version flag in the build seems like a basic feature that should have been implemented by Mids, Pines, and Mids Reborn so they can differentiate between builds when the database changes or when the program undergoes major changes. I used to maintain a character builder for a game that is no longer playable, and that was one of the first things I found was needed due to changes in the game causing old builds to no longer work in game or in the builder.
  16. Your analogy is flawed. This isn't an unreasonable expectation for a car to fly. It is equivalent to expecting a car's stereo system to play an MP3 file encoded with an older codec. Regardless of your interpretation of the definition of "bug", it won't change the fact others will experience similar problems in the future if nothing is done about this issue. It won't change the fact those people will report it as a bug too.
  17. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_bug "A software bug is an error, flaw, failure or fault in a computer program or system that causes it to produce an incorrect or unexpected result, or to behave in unintended ways." It is an unexpected result, regardless of who experienced it. The issue I reported is a bug, according to the most widely-accepted definition of the term. I don't expect it to be fixed; I expect this issue to crop up from time to time if the game lasts long enough. People will post builds and others using a different program (due to not knowing about both or playing on a different server cluster) will complain they can't open the build properly. Maybe they will figure it out, or maybe they won't. It seems like it will cause some headache for others when the simplest solution might be an error message warning them the build was not made with Mids and may not load properly.
  18. There are many reasons one would expect the two to be compatible. Both use the same file name extension. Builds made in Pines generally open without issues in Mids. I've only opened about 25 builds from my files made with Pines, and this is the first build in my library that had an issue. The paste code header from Pines says "Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Hero Designer to view the build" There is no error message or warning when opening an "incompatible" Pines file using Mids. There are a few options for the developers here. Do nothing. Let people be confused if they open a build shared by someone who used Pines when it ends up not working right. Make an error message pop up if the build wasn't made with the latest version of Mids. I don't know how the paste code or save file is encoded, but it would only make sense to have a version flag in it for error checking and parsing. Change the name of Mids to something else entirely and make it use a completely different file extension to reduce the potential for confusion from 3. above. Get Pines to stop outputting paste code headers with "Mids" in the text. Make Mids compatible with Pines builds.
  19. If software doesn't behave as expected, that is the very definition of a bug. If you have no plans to make Mids fully compatible with builds created in Pines, that is a different story and I understand.
  20. Bug summary: The Force of Will pool seems to be different in Mids, compared to Pines. This results in Mids loading the wrong powers into slots if the build was created in Pines, and vise-versa. Details: I created a build in Pines 2.23 using the Force of Will pool. I selected Mighty Leap at level 24, Project Will at 30, and Unleash Potential at 32. I found out Mids Reborn exists and tried using it to open my build. It decided I had Project Will at 24, Mighty Leap at 30, and Wall of Force at 32. 21. Example Builds This Rad/SS build uses no purple sets, no ATOs, and no PvP IOs. It achieves capped S/L resist and is 1 inspiration away from S/L defense softcap. You are meant to cycle between Rune of Protection and Meltdown as needed when facing non-S/L enemies, though the recharge bonus will leave you with some gaps in protection time. With either up, you are capped on all resists except cold and psionic, which are 50-60%. | Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1450;664;1328;HEX;| |78DA7594DB6E12511486F7C0600B8596966381428152CAC111B4F7C6D8EA8545693| |1DEE248B740A440064CF4D25BE3A9F574A3AFE013188DBE8EC7C473A28E8B597FD0| |8438C9F0CDACC3FEFFB58799CAB50DF7B3D3378E0BC57DB2A30F06F5F37AF78A341| |C15BDD96E88D13145679CA3F50D7959760752DBD177DBFAB0DDEBD64F187B3D238A| |744576A4D46A57FB745D1B1AB2DB1CB684A7DAEB75B453ED666BD8EE36DDD6DD96D| |4FBE39B5ACF6848E3BA8B6FFA52EE2E6CF6DB0D6D533786AD7A451F0C291B2617AB| |74DECCD28F32F265AA224E175955D812E032534D822966D1257098765125A454716| |81BDC614ED798CF73B43CAFAF288F6D429455E13A60DE226D3BB4EDD07643DB0DED| |5968CF42FB36F538B8C7E608D1C5922ABC39CE798BC25AF74E76B4CBA322D331E5B| |35BB1053F1860FA836088190C33359ACD89D99C982D88D9C2982D8CD9EE92CE8C35| |9C296692ACADD0E3F5A0DF83FE08FA23E88FA1DF4EB573987F0EF3C7307F1CF3C73| |17F1CF3DF23CD79F4CC9F512CCDE52DB0029E6526CF31CB34938F3DA93E784AC253| |129ED2F094DEE31E95BC05B0CF814FBC37E900E756FCCC20D584B8468490DB277F8| |BD05AFCC9CF79E517F89BB96A8282D73D4AFEA2BC8F4AF429E57C947BC2BC9FA147| |CCEB294B51AECF469807A495C05E273E23F70DFCCACC7D67EED33A29AC937A83DC5| |BE63AE967E03903CF3978CEC3731E9EF3F0FC881AD6B8C7B106ED22348BF0508476| |F90BF883F9805080EFC20BDEB7C32FC1D7E02BE643AAD550AB5DE2D89126D800253| |345CFA38477AD54E0FF63198CA9E3775611173936DD60E6D4F137C0CCFFAD1BDD9A| |A6284D44CA1391631391F589C8D644A4AA4296228A15717AC5687F2D27EF5CE32F0| |7B21FFE8D5CE099DF4F547D74FDFF8BB34DAF411993FE01DCBDDF42| |-------------------------------------------------------------------| This Rad/Psi build is what I personally use. 22. I am of the opinion that Radiation Armor is the best set in the game when IO sets are added to it. Stone Armor has more mitigation potential, but the usability of the set is diminished by the penalties and lack of mobility in Granite armor. Plus, your costume is ugly in Granite form. Dark and Electric come close to Radiation in terms of mitigation, but lack the utilities and QOL benefits provided by Radiation Armor. For the sake of comparison, all powers are assumed to be slotted with 3 standard level 50 IOs, except inherent fitness only receiving 1 IO. Skip to the first reply if you just want to look at the example builds. Key Powers - Particle Shielding: This is Radiation Armor's best power. It provides an unenhanceable 50% recovery bonus for 1 minute, an enhanceable regeneration bonus, and a fairly large (1100+) absorb shield. The only downside is the absorb bonus is not enhanced by healing bonuses from your Alpha slot. With enough recharge bonus, the cooldown can be brought down close to 30 seconds, making the regeneration buff practically permanent. If the shielding is counted as healing for the sake of comparison, combined healing so far (inherent Health + Particle Shielding) is around 60 HP/s before IO set bonuses, Willpower needs about 3 targets in range to achieve the same HP/s. If the shielding is counted as temporary health, it is about the same amount as Invulnerability and Stone Armor's bonuses of ~1120 HP. - Gamma Boost: When at full health and unenhanced, this power provides about a 36% bonus to recovery. For comparison, Willpower provides 30% base. Combining Particle Shielding with Gamma Boost results in the highest recovery available on Tankers. Endurance should not be a problem for you once you get Particle Shielding down to around 60 seconds recharge. - Beta Decay: An auto-hit aura that gives you recharge bonus and debuffs defense so you can hit things easier. Auto-hit means it will keep enemies around you taunted, when other sets often have an accuracy check on their taunt auras. - Radiation Therapy: At first glance, this may look like Soul Drain. However, it should be noted it heals for a large chunk and small amount of health with no targets hit, plus it heals for the same small amount for each target hit. In addition, it performs a regeneration debuff on all targets hit. Radiation Therapy can potentially heal for around 400 + 80 + 80/target, and have about a 16 second cooldown. Combined with the healing from above, that puts Radiation Armor around 90 HP/s effective healing with no targets hit, which is equivalent to Willpower with 8 enemies in range. - Ground Zero: The damage on this isn't important. The fact it hits up to 30 targets makes this power stand out. Effectively, you get a PBAoE taunt that puts you on the threat table of more than the target cap. This is extremely useful in situations where your team is swarmed, like ITF or LGTF. As enemies targeting you die off, the enemies you hit with Ground Zero start attacking you instead of allies. - Meltdown: This is a great emergency click power in the game if you choose to use it. The crash only takes 10% of your endurance instead of 100%, unlike most other crashes. Personally, I skip it, but you may want it. Brute builds sometimes take it and rotate between Meltdown and Rune of Protection for a constant +~20% resistance to all damage. TL;DR: Radiation Armor has the potential to get more endurance recovery than any other Tanker, rivals Willpower's healing, and has effectively the same health pool as Invulnerability and Willpower, before Incarnate powers. It has amazing aggro management and an emergency power that won't kill you. IO Slotting and Builds - Defense or Resistance? If you can't afford very rare sets or ATOs, go for S/L defense and recharge bonus. Use Rune of Protection and/or Meltdown to shore up your resists when needed. An example build is below. If you can afford very rare sets and ATOs, get as much resistance as you can while using pool powers and global IOs to fill in your defense. Rely on teammates to soft-cap, or don't worry about defense because you don't really need it with all of your effective healing and 90% resists to the most important damage types. A build with 90% S/L/F/E/T and 75% C/N/P is provided below. - Slotting Toggles: Don't worry about endurance reduction. Your recovery is so high that only TW can come close to pushing the limits of what Radiation Armor's recovery provides. - Suggested Secondaries: Anything can work with Radiation Armor. You can go for damage or control, though I prefer the latter on my Tanker so I'm filling the role better. Knockdowns provide a great way to control groups and keep them from attacking you and your teammates. Converting a knockback to a knockdown is also an option to make sets like Energy Melee tolerable. Notable sets with AoE knockdowns include Battle Axe, Electrical, Ice, Kinetic, Psionic, Super Strength, and War Mace. Super Strength and Electrical Melee both have AoE disorients and AoE knockdowns they can use frequently to keep enemies under control effects. Ice Melee has additional control in the form of slow effects and a sleep effect. Defense debuff sets help your teammates hit more often, but are is rarely needed at 50 due to IO sets and the vast amount of defense debuffs others on your team may have. Any of the "bladed" weapon sets debuff defense, plus several other sets, including Radiation Melee. Don't forget you already have a defense debuff in the form of Beta Decay. Dark Melee debuffs to-hit, which is equivalent to adding defense to yourself. Super Strength and Titan Weapons are go-to sets for dealing damage. If you want to make a DPS Tanker, they should be more viable after the upcoming buff. - Suggested Epic Pools: Your Epic pool choice may depend on your secondary and how many power selections you have free. Adding an extra AoE or control effect can help round out your build or provide some usefulness outside of just tanking things. Take fewer attacks from your secondary if you want more options at 50. You don't need every attack to be a tank. Earth Mastery gives you an AoE sleep, which is useful if your group pulls more than they can handle. Hit a cluster of enemies with this, then tank another cluster to lighten the pressure on your squishies. Mu Mastery gives you two targeted AoE abilities, which can act as a ranged AoE taunt, while dealing some damage or immobilizing a group. Pyre Mastery has a great AoE resistance debuff, as well as a targeted AoE power. Anything with a hold effect can be useful for shutting down an Immunes Surgeon from range, or stacking holds on Hamidon encounters. This also gives you access to IO sets with some great bonuses that are hard to otherwise obtain.
  23. As someone who has tanked Lord Recluse like that, I can guess they had softcapped defense (something like 75% when he's buffed by the pylons) and 90% S/L/E resists. They were probably using Radiation Armor, which has a nice self-absorb. That would explain why you didn't see their health move. When they got hit, it probably damaged their grey bar instead of the green bar. It is also possible they were just defense-based and healed back any damage they took before you noticed.
  24. Auroxis posted the math for various fury and damage bonus levels. Tankers won't do more damage than Brutes in AE farms, except for the first few seconds of the first mob pull. After that, brutes will reach or exceed 75% Fury, and always be ahead of Tanker, assuming they both use the same amount of red inspirations.
  25. I have tried joining a league for the Trick-or-Treat event, but I seem to be crashing to desktop every 15-30 minutes. Bigger league sizes seem to make me crash more often. I have tried changing settings and turning down the max particle count but I'm not sure any of it is having an impact on the frequency of my crashes. My PC specs are: i5-8600k 1070 Ti 16 GB ram Win 10 nothing is overclocked
