  1. If it's mainly for team play, I'd suggest to slot your shields with a bit more defense.

Damping bubble, IMO, is way overslotted. I'm running a Necro/FF MM, and I only have a LOTG:Defense/global recharge in it. The best I can tell, adding more Defense to it doesn't really do anything. The Defense Debuff Resistance, along with all the other resistances it offers, stayed the same whether i had 1 Defense in it or 4. And with a decent amount of global recharge, it can be made to be perma.

I am currently working on a WP/Staff concept.  I don't suppose you'd be willing to share your build?

There ya go. I went Vigor and Melee Core for the HP/Regen, and the extra resists. It's totally insane how much you regen with RttC and Melee Core fully saturated.

And I think I dropped Assault for Taunt.

  4. I know this is from last year, but to the OP...I feel like you also need to factor in your secondary power set.

For example, /Dark will debuff your enemies' To Hit, plus has a heal. Staff can increase your defense and add resistance as well.

I built my WP/Staff for max HP and max regen. If memory serves me correctly,  when RttC is fully saturated,  I hit well over 225 hp/sec. With soft capped f/c/e/ne defenses.

Most people will say that a stone tank running Granite is the "tankiest", followed by Invuln. I say, choose what fits your theme/concept and run with it.

Of all my tanks, and I have a LOT, I enjoy my WP/Staff the most. Probably my 2nd favorite is Bio/Rad.

Numina's, Miracle and Regenerative Tissue are active on pets when slotted in Dark Empowerment. Impervious Skin? Whaaaat?! No way... Spent all this time trying to improve pets but overlooked Imp Skin... Geez, if this works, I'll be upset... Oh geez, for goodness sakes! It does!

    image.png.63b9ab6a915c7f6ee13f551546ba0ec1.png

It makes the most impact, highest dps increase, on tier 1 Zombies. But arguably, Zombies are quickest to fall. If they're dying often, Grave Knights would be a decent alternative.

Wow! So they DO work on the pets?! Yay!!!

I didn't even think of Imp Skin. I'm guessing that's slotted in Enchant? Wouldn't it be awesome if you slotted Steadfast:+resist/Def in Enchant AND it transferred the bonus to them?

  6. 5 hours ago, C U R S E said:

Panacea proc is the only benefit the pets will get. All others have been tested. Interesting enough the status/regen resistance IO, slotted in resistance will benefit them as well.

So, Numina's and Regenerative does not work?

  7. Not at my computer (on phone), but here's a few things to consider.

Nature needs recharge, and lots of it. You want wild growth, wild bastion, and overgrowth up as often as possible. Same for Soul Extraction.

Your pets will benefit from some end reduction.

Not sure about the Achilles in Grave Knights (not sure how often it could proc)

The Pet IOs will help tons (2 + resists, 2 + defense, and the other Superior...can't remember the name). Even if slotted in Soul Extraction, all your pets will get the benefit.

You can slot Resist Damage IOs in Enchant. It will give your pets more Resist. I usually put between 2-4 pieces of Unbreakable in it, and the Steadfast +res/Def there.

Dark Empowerment...I've learned that if you slot the Panacea, Numina's, etc procs in it, your pets will receive the benefit of it (but not you). Helps to keep them healed up (health and end).

Lich....I always throw a Cloud Senses proc in him. About every power he uses has a chance to proc it. He doesn't do much damage at all, so might as well put To Hit Debuff there, and/or a 1/2 of the Pet Uniques.

That's just what I can think of off the top of my head. When I can, I'll get on my pc and look a bit closer and maybe throw a build together to give you ideas. I myself was really close to rolling necro/nat, but instead decided to give Force Fields a shot.

I tried searching for a Bio Build.  I'm pretty sure there was a post some time ago, but i can't find it.  I just hit lvl 11. Any help is welcome, i've never played Bio before.  Thanks in advance.

    Check link in my sig.

  9. So, I just respec'd my Necro/Thermal (haven't played it in forever, and had to respec since the changes took place on page 5). Now, I admit, I'm not the best MM player, and I know there are many more players out there that are better than I am (I believe  @StrikerFox is one of the best?) Having said that, here is the build that I put together.

Am I missing anything, or are there better ways to slot? Thanks in advance for any and all critiques/ideas/suggestions/feedback. I also have a Necro/EA and a Necro/Dark, but the /Thermal is the one that I've played the least. Trying to get a feel for which of the 3 performs best.

  10. If Ice/Dark fits your theme, then I say roll one! Energy Absorption is EASY to keep perma, and you can build to have capped Defenses to S/L/F/C/E/NE fairly easily. While your Resists won't be the greatest, you can take Melee Core Embodiment to really push up your Resists (and your Regen!). Your DM Attacks will debuff To Hit by 5.25% each (if not slotted for To Hit Debuff), and it'd be easy to keep a minimum of that on your enemy...essentially increasing your survivability. Siphon Life can be used as a "ghetto" Heal every (roughly) 3 seconds, with Hoarfrost backing it up.

If you went Soul Mastery for your Epic, you could take Gloom (6 slot Superior Winter's Bite) to pump up your Fire/Cold Defenses (since they're the hardest to get to caps). Plus, it's a really good attack. Then, to top it off, take Darkest Night. Slot 3 Dark Watcher's Despair in it, and you're looking at another -22.79 To Hit Debuff...PLUS a 30% Damage Debuff...which stacks with Chilling Embrace's -Damage Debuff(which is 14%). Combined, you're going to be dubuffing an enemy's To Hit by a minimum of 28% AND their Damage by 44% (obviously their Defense Debuff Resistances may affect your To Hit Debuff...)

Musculature Radial would be a perfect fit for your Alpha. It will boost your Damage,To Hit Debuffs, and End Mod.

Downside to Ice/Dark....Resists (as mentioned earlier). Also, it looks like it would be/can be very end hungry. Luckily you have Energy Absorption and  Dark Absorption to offset that.

I played an Ice/Electric tank, and it was pretty sturdy and fun.

Heck...I think I might roll one now.

    Curse you! 😆

  11. Sonic (because you love music, it motivates you, and you listen to it too loud)

Or Pain. You've been hurt and that pain manifested and you're tryingturn use your pain to help others.

    Just a couple of thoughts.

I'm tempted to make a character that based on me.  I love animals, so obviously Beasts, but i'm not sure on a secondary.  Perhaps empathy, but i'm not a doctor in RL.  Although i've been thinking of going back to school, maybe become a shrink.

  13. Hey all!

I admit, I haven't really given Doms a try. So, I figured it's time to change that. I'm looking at Earth/Sonic and was wondering if there's any tips into playing it?  I like the idea of locking down opponents, then moving in with Disruption Aura (reducing their Resistance) and then laying some smack down.

Any one play either of these sets and can give advice/what to expect?

    Appreciate it!

I have lot's of experience with all other Armors, but Bio makes me feel like a noob.

I also use Mid's as a crutch for all of my builds and it just doesn't tease out the details.

Basically what is the game plan for survivability and how does it work under the covers?

    Thanks!

After reading my guide (in sig, and @PLVRIZR linked it ), if you have any other questions, feel free to reach out.

I'm going ahead and giving the community two proper ways to slot this fantastic team buff.

So, your 2 ways are the only ways to slot a power? Keep in mind that many people chase set bonuses, which may be why they slot powers the way they do.

The beauty of this game is that 2 people can have the same powers, slot them differently, and practically be totally different.

    You're not reading something right.

Base (for a tanker) Heightened Senses provides 3.3% defense to Smashing and Lethal but 13% to F/C/E/N.

Weave provides 5% defense to all.  So Heightened Senses is significantly better than weave at F/C/E/N defense, which is the primary thing it's supposed to be good at.

Yep. You're right. I didn't look past the S/L values. My bad.

But I still think the + To Hit  or +Accuracy would thematically fit the power.

  17. Greetings,

After playing and respeccing my WP Tank (numerous times), something dawned on me. Why is it that I can delve into the Fighting Pool and pick up Weave, and get MORE defense (to all btw), than a PRIMARY POWER (Heightened Senses) gives? This makes no sense.

While I appreciate the fact that Heightened Senses also gives +Perception, the Defense it gives is approximately 2.7% LESS than Weave. Slotted with the EXACT same IOs, Heightened Senses give 5.2% Defense (S/L/F/C/E/N.E) while Weave gives 7.9% Defense to ALL. Is the extra 500' of Perception worth it? If your Perception is increased that much, shouldn't it affect your Accuracy or To Hit?

I propose that Heightened Senses stay as is, with the exception of offering +4% (or +6%) to To Hit or +8% (or +10%) to Accuracy. OR, bump up the base Defense values of Heightened Senses from 3.3% to 5% to match Weave's numbers (after all, shouldn't a PRIMARY power have better values than a Power Pool?).

Personally, I like the added To Hit or Accuracy myself.

    Thoughts?
