  1. I think I can come up with a concept for Dark/Time (especially with custom colors), so I might have to play around with the costume creator before I decide which I want to do. I do appreciate knowing which sets have good synergy though, because sometimes that just makes it more fun.
  2. Thanks for the replies so far. I think the completely new sets to me would be Dark and Elec for primary and Nature and Time for secondary. There are a bunch that were never allowed on Controller that I've still played on other ATs. Thematically, Dark/Nature or Elec/Time sound like concepts I could have fun with.
  3. I just got back to the game, and I've been rebuilding some of my old favorites, as well as trying some new things that weren't around when I left. My main hero was a scrapper and my main villain was a brute, but I also had tons of alts of all ATs. While I did have some controllers, it was by far my least played AT, and the only one that I remember getting past the teens was a Gravity/Storm that was pretty fun to play. The reason I'm posting is that I wanted to see what might be a fun combo for someone without a lot of experience controlling, especially if it has powersets that weren't in the game around 2009 (when I stopped playing), because it would be fun to do something new. I don't need the best powersets possible, or the consensus best build or anything, just something that will be fun and new to me. Also, any general advice on how to build and play a controller would be helpful.
  4. Thanks for the insight. This is the character I made on day one in live, so I will be sticking with broadsword to keep it closer to the original. To be honest in the original game I liked the resistance of Invulnerability, but it was kind of basic and not all that exciting like some of the other options. When I made the character there weren't nearly as many secondaries to choose from, so the only one that really fit was Invulnerability. In the past I've had lots of alts, so I'm sure I'll also be making him some knightly friends with other combinations of weapons and non-flashy secondaries that can be explained as armor. I don't even know what to do with myself with so many power combinations now.
  5. Back in live some members of my super group went to a different server and made a villain group called "The Cereal Killers." We all had various deranged versions of cereal mascots. Mine was Livid Leprechaun, and he was fed up with being chased for his lucky charms all the time, so he turned the tables and started killing kids. He was a fire corrupter (green of course), and had super speed (gained from years of running away from those thieving kids). It was so fun to play that short little guy running around everywhere shooting green fireballs and yelling at random people to stay away from his lucky charms if they got too close.
  6. I did notice that the mez protection said long recharge, so that might be a bit rough until I can get enough IOs in there, but it doesn't scare me off. I ended up making the character last night and it's a lot of fun to be back in the game.
  7. Thanks, that helps. Since it sounds like they are pretty close, then I'll go with shield. It will be nice to try something different while not changing too much about the character, and getting to give him the shield he would have had if it was possible on day 1 of the game.
  8. So I just found out that the game is back, and I want to re-create my old main. He was a Broadsword/Invulnerability Scrapper, but back then shield wasn't an option. Since he's a Knight, having a shield makes more sense, but I know nothing about it beyond reading about the powers on the Paragon Wiki. So can someone tell me in practice if it is as good or better than Invuln, and maybe explain the differences between the two? It looks like it's less tanky but with more utility.
