  1. Good call. From the July 12th, 2022 Patch Notes: I must have had that power fully slotted for quite a while. The PC was only in the upper 30s until a few weeks ago.
  2. BTW, I think that Beta Decay needs a To Hit roll to affect enemies. Enhancing accuracy is pretty useful for that power. Losing the Accurate {Defense Debuff / ToHit Debuff} sets is unfortunate.
  3. I am certain Beta Decay was fully slotted with Analyze Weakness. I took a video with my phone to help recall where the various enhancements should go after the respec. Any suggestions on a replacement enhancement set (at level 49)? Analyze Weakness was actually pretty good. I am not seeing much in the Defense Debuff and ToHit Debuff sets.
  4. Dumb newb question, I am sure: Do enhancement set categories get removed from powers on characters who already have that set slotted for the power? I just respecced a PC after deciding I wanted to grab Tactics earlier to help prevent being blinded by Captain Stone in the Admiral Sutter TF. Before the respec, my Dark/Radiation brute had Beta Decay fully slotted with Analyze Weakness. But, I could not repopulate the slots with that set during the respec and now after. And, now I notice that the whole Accurate Defense Debuff set category is gone from Beta Decay (Defense Debuff is still there). I guess I am just asking if this is some glitch that I should try to fix somehow, or did the set category just get removed from that power?
  5. [Oddly, I thought I posted most of the reply below last Sunday. Now I don't see it, so here goes again...] Thanks for all those replies. There is a lot in there and it looks like understanding more about what's going on at level 50 and beyond needs to be a priority. So far, this is the first combat content we've hit as a duo that we haven't been able to figure out, at least eventually. BTW, the two toons in question are level 50 with no incarnates socketed yet. But, they have almost entirely attuned enhancement set IOs and I have started converting some to their Superior versions. I don't know where the notion about us using only SOs came from, but that's not the case. That vampiric regen is no joke. At least if that's what I think it is, Schad uses it every minute or two and, while the tank can deal with it, if my controller is too near, it almost one-shots him. That also tends to wipe any summons we call (Back Alley Brawler for melee and Posi for ranged). The controller keeps the tank buffed with Fortitude and has Maneuvers and Tactics active. Looks like Assault might be a useful respec addition. I use Corrosive Vial as often as it recharges, hoping to take some of the bite out of the enemies' regen.
  6. We did not set a set a timer. So, we should quit the TF and restart it with a timer?
  7. We were trying the Dr. Kahn TF (ME: a Mind Control / Empathy controller and my partner a Dark Dark tank) and got to Schadenfreude after the part inside City Haul. We basicallly had no effect on him. His health barely went below full the whole time. We eventually left the part of the map he was on, destroyed a portal, wiped the rest of the minions, then came back to fight Schadenfreude again. No dice. Any advice on how to approach this would be appreciated. And, yes, several rezzes were used and we called the P2W prestige summons (ghosts of Statesman, Back All Brawler, Positron) all to no avail. BTW, we aren't experienced CoH players. Our heroes just hit level 50, but we haven't figured out what to do with incarnate shards that have started to drop, etc. Maybe our problem is we need to upgrade enhancements or do some incarnate things to match up to this content?
  8. Very good to know. Thank you both for those answers and links to the resources. I had not seen those pages before.
  9. Some enhancements have a chance for a status effect. E.g. Frozen Blast has a chance for immobilize, at 2.5 / minute. But, I don't see the magnitude or duration for the effect. Is there a place in the wiki where that is listed? Is it some standard for effects from enhancements? Sorry if this is a silly question. Also, regarding the duration, is it affected by other effects that extend effect durations? E.g. slotting two Trap of the Hunter enhancements lists a 5% bonus duration to immobilize effects. Does that apply to the Frozen Blast immobilize?
  10. Thank you for that response. I had not known the EMP involved a hold. I will stick with Resistance and EndMod enhancements. BTW, apologies for the forum mixup. When I searched for other queries related to PS, they were in General. And, of course, PS is available to 5 different archetypes, and the same question applies to all of them.
  11. Sorry for a dumb question, but what is the reason that Power Surge (in Electric Armor) has Holds as an enhancement set category? I see that PS says it applies a 3.00 mag hold on the target. But, isn't my own PC ("Self") the target? Will my PC be held when I activate PS? Meanwhile the enhancement thing is a little confusing if PS does not apply a hold to enemies (which I don't see that it does in the description), so why would one want to add hold enhancements to it? Would there be much point in slotting the Holds enhancement sets into PS? PS may be a decent power choice for my level 44 electric tanker. But, I thought it's probably worth understanding these things whether or not I take it (it would be the last of his Electric Armor powers).
  12. Thank you both. I just figured out that the Taunt power has a magnitude 4 (at least for PCs) by looking at it in Mid's. It also has a duration. I did not see any protection from that power, as there is for knockback, teleport, etc. It looks like that duration is modified by taunt resistance. The Assault (Leadership pool) power shows a -Taunt effect, which I am assuming affects duration. I don't know of any other (and I am not sure how to check on Clarion). Even the Empathy's Clear Mind and Willpower's Strength of Will powers don't help with taunt (which seem like an oversights, really). I notice that even the first three sized of Resist Effects Inspirations only give 50% taunt resistance, while the largest gives 75%. Once again, I am assuming that means the duration is lowered.
  13. TL;DR: Looking for a good wiki article or guide that explains the mechanics of an NPC taunting a PC. --- I've been on a while, though my highest level toon is level 31 and I still sort of consider myself a newb. I often get a short amount of time to play and try to solo a short run or so. I mention this because what I am wondering about would not be an issue for a more experienced player or someone in a party. Last night my tanker was on a mission for The Magician in the Night Ward. Some of the Black Knights used taunts on him, which I had never encountered before. Since I had never had a toon taunted, I didn't know that I could no longer choose my targets and that my toon would just stand around if he wasn't targeting the taunter. And, since he is mostly melee and the taunter was usually out of range, he mostly stood around, wondering why only his AoE power was doing anything. He ended up in the hospital, but was able to prevail the second time through. Through the help channel, some helpful players explained that NPC taunting is pretty rare (only occurs in a few missions) and that Escape inspirations can help, as can the Assault power from the Leadership pool (which my toon does not have). Also, don't fight the taunt target selection, just attack the taunter. Okay, got it. But, afterward I tried hitting the Wiki to see if I could learn something about how NPC taunt mechanics work. I wasn't really able to find much out. Taunt seems like a status effect, but there doesn't seem to be a magnitude or protection level for it. It wasn't clear to me if Mez resistance or defense was helpful. How long does it last? Does it require a to-hit roll? Etc. If someone could point me to the right Wiki article on NPC taunting mechanics or maybe a guide here on the forums, I would appreciate it. I understand from the online chat that NPC taunting isn't common enough to really worry about nor build around. But, I'd still like to understand more about it. Thanks!
  14. Thanks for that. I am favoring ParagonWiki. I don't generally have an issue with Fandom, but that may be because of my ad blocker. Though, as folks have noted, there are changes not reflected on ParagonWiki, either. BTW, it should be a little more straightforward to figure out how to edit a wiki page. I registered for a Titan Network account to update a few things I had run across. They are minor things (e.g. the wiki lists an enhancement set as adding 10% to something, but it is 1% in game, etc.), where I would update a page when I notice something off. But, apparently, more than the Titan Network account is needed, as I can find no option to edit. I understand lots of wikis are locked down to keep out spamtards out, there ought to be an obvious way of letting an admin know if a legit user wants to help. 😞
  15. Thank you for the advice and the history of the wikis. It's looking like Paragon Wiki is a more favored going forward. It's unfortunate that Google hasn't gotten the memo. When googling "City of Heroes" X, where X is something like Enhancement Sets, the Fandom wiki is almost always the top result, if possibly just because of their name. And, for sure, that change log would be a boon. Seems likely that it exists somewhere, or is at least available in raw form from the version control logs.
  16. I just started last week (my first time for both CoH and any MMORPG) and I can't believe I missed this back in the day. Just... Uber. Mega. Fun! But, I have lots to learn, so apologies in advance if this is a silly question... I see two CoX wikis pop up often in discussions and search results, the Paragon Wiki and City of Heroes Wiki. Is one more up-to-date or better at certain things than the other? Obviously, the former is the one mentioned here most and it seems to have more frequent recent updates. But, I occasionally notice aspects of the latter that are convenient. E.g. the always-at-the-top and case-insensitive-autocomplete search bar or the easy to spot rarity of the sets in the enhancement sets tables (maybe just because I don't have the icons memorized yet). I have noticed that both are missing some things that are in the game (e.g. I was wondering about what turned out to be a vanity pet, but I couldn't search its name). Anyway, any tips about which one is better at what or even if there are other resources I should be checking out. I have been diving into some of the guides here on these forums and they are excellent. But, I usually look to a wiki when I am trying to look up the specifics about this or that aspect of the game.
