  1. My first character was an energy/energy blaster. I figured that if guys were flying all over the place, they couldn't hit me, and kicking them back kept me out of melee range. So I slotted EVERYTHING for knockback. I got booted from so many teams before I figured out why. It took way to long to dawn on me that scrappers and tankers might not have wanted enemies pushed back a mile.
  2. I don't know why it popped into my head, but I've been obsessed lately with making alts inspired by/blatantly copying from the bosses in the Mega Man games. So far, I have (on Excelsior) Guts Man - Inv/SS Tank Elec Man - Elec/Elec Blaster Metal.Man - Claws/SR Scrapper I'll post pictures later. Obviously, the 'elemental' bosses (Fire Man, Ice Man, etc.) are thematically easy. I just need to play with the costumes more on them, and settle on an AT. I don't want to go Element/Element Blaster for everyone, so I'm trying to mix it up a little. Any really good AT suggestions for those obvious themes? Any powerset/AT suggestions for some of the less obvious bosses? Like, Shadow Man from MM3. I'm thinking Katana/Dark Scrapper or Ninja Blade/Dark Stalker. What's a good secondary for Time/ for Flash Man? Or Gravity/ for Gravity Man? Any thoughts on what powersets to use for someone like Snake Man or Quick Man? As for costumes, any tips for some of the more out-there designs? Ice Man is easy, but what about Heat Man's Zippo lighter design? Or Snake Man?
  3. One of, if not my absolute favorite, things about COH is that any team can be viable with the right strategy. Sure, there might be times where you wish you had someone to hold aggro, or maybe deal a little bit more damage, but if you play smart, you can succeed with any combination of 8. If you had a group of nothing but healers in WOW, or any other MMO, you're not getting very far. Ditto tanks, or even DPS to a lesser extent. However, and COH, a group of practically any 8 defenders is practically invincible. 8 half-competent defenders of any combination is almost game-breakingly easy to run. You could have a team of nothing but tanks, and be just fine. A group of 8 blasters can wipe out an entire herd, if you're careful with your targeting.
