I believe it's because you could be sidekicked up to someone else's level AND have a pocket healer handy to buff/heal through any tactical mis-steps and bad luck.  There's also issues with them generating INSP's with Inner Inspiration, and feeding them to you at opportune times (hard to tell if you got that insp from a mob defeat or someone handing it to you).

You can't run the Tour de France with your friends, you have to have a support crew that's sanctioned by the race.  Similarly, here.

    This makes sense, thank you!

So myself and other CoH streamers have developed a play on the classic "Iron man Challenge" that was popular for a time. As such i am inviting others to come along for the ride.  The Iron Man challenge is designed with streamers in mind but anyone can participate with using the honor system!

The Rules for the Iron Man is as follows

    1. Must be a newly created character.

    2. Cannot be any of the following AT’s: Brute, Tank, Scrapper, Sentinel.

    3. No Power Leveling or teaming with any other live player unless they are also participating in the challenge.

    4. May only purchase upgrades (inspirations and enhancements) with money earned by doing missions or by own means.

    5. If your character dies for any reason they are to be deleted immediately.

    6. No Supergroup invites will be accepted unless by other Iron Man challenge participants.

    7. You must try to at least level up once per stream on the challenge.

    8. No P2W items are allowed, only the items you get from creation.

IF you would like to join the discord where i have the rules posted up feel free to at

Regarding rule #3, I'm just curious:  No PLing makes perfect sense, but why no teaming with non-IMC players?  I'm not sure what the difference would be between a PUG and other players also participating in the challenge.  Regardless, I've just become aware of this, and I'm definitely gonna give it a try.

  3. I scanned through the thread and didn't see anything on this, but if it was already posted and I missed it, sorry.  For the Legionnaire badge, the second mission of the Mortimer Kal SF is a quick and easy way to farm for Warrior Elite Bosses.  Set it to -1, x8 and be sure to have a toon that can handle 9ish Elites at a time.  When they're down, *don't* talk to Odysseus, log out to character select, log back in, rinse and repeat.  A bit tedious, but nowhere near as boring as scouring Siren's for them.

  4. Regarding the Running on Empty (200 Sappers) badge:

I just soloed (couldn't get any interest on LFG) Operation: World Wide Red from Crimson at -1, x4 and breezed through it without breaking a sweat.  Treated every Malta mish as a kill all, and blew through the Knives as fast as possible.  Started the arc with 112 out of 200, and the badge dinged in the mish right after the Kronos Titan shows up.  I imagine a full team of 8 could knock out most of this badge in one thorough sweep through this arc.  Plus if you don't have the badges for the Kronos Titan and/or the Zeus Titans, it's good for those as well.

In the Storm Palace zone, Brutes spawn in groups of 6-10, usually with 2-4 bosses. There's some variation (I had a group that was like 24 dudes, no bosses. One cast of Ion Judgement wiped them out!). Remember that Bosses count at 5 points, so really you can treat this as a "defeat 100 bosses" badge, but it'll be quicker if you're also taking down the nearby minions and LTs. Just look out for Storm Elementals while traversing this zone!

Also, if you go to The Chantry (the actual structure in that zone) and just fly around the perimeter, you'll find a ton of brutes that are all gray and green (if you're level 50) and they go down fast.  Just keep flying around the building until you get the badge.

  6. So I just decided to hit every plaque in Echo: Galaxy again, and sure enough, I clearly missed one at some point.  Thank you so much for replying (and also, I guess, for making me question my sanity lol).  Appreciate it!

The easiest couple of things to check would be to make sure you don't already have the badge (sounds silly but it happens), and to double check the wiki page for the Expert badge to make sure you hit all the correct plaques. Other than that, I've heard that it is best to get your character as close as possible to the plaque when clicking on it. I don't know if this was related to an actual issue or just a rumor, but it's something I've always done. That badge is just four plaques in three zones so revisiting the plaques shouldn't take too much effort.

Thanks for the reply.  I definitely don't have it, when I look in History badges, it says I'm 75% complete, so one of these plaques just isn't registering when I click on it.  I went back to all of them and got right on top of them.  Clicked them all.  Even tried it again doing them in the correct order, not that that's a necessary thing.  No luck.  I'm only writing all this here to document it.  Hopefully this is something that can be fixed at some point.

  8. I'm wondering if anyone can help shed some light on this weird problem I'm having.  I've clicked on all the required plaques for the Expert badge, but I'm not getting the badge.  The only thing I can think of is that at least one of the plaques is located in Echo: Galaxy, but that's just a guess.  Am I doing something wrong?

    Hi Everyone,

Back in December I have built a tool, as a proof of concept, to automatically detect badges in game using bind files.
Those that remember it, back in the days we use to have bind files to trigger “setTitle” command lines.

Those command lines were written in log files. From there a tool was fetching the info and publishing it to City Info Tracker (https://cit.cohtitan.com/character/leaderboards)

The tool I have built back in December, was to see If it was possible to recreate a similar tool.

The proof of concept was working well enough.
This encouraged me to start working on the next logical step, build a replacement for City Info Tracker.

I have been working on this since the last few weeks. Today I am ready to show the result.
If such a tool/web site could be of interest to you, simply go to https://cityofbadgers.com

Also, I want to give a big thank you to Kitsune and collaborators.
I have used Kitsune’s open source badges database to start this project.
I Also want to thank everyone that helped me tested the site while it was being developed.

So if I'm still running a Windows 7 machine (I know) and if I was dumb enough to install the game in the My Documents folder (I know) and I get this error (see attached image), does that mean the only solution is to reinstall the game in a location that's less stupid?
