  1. Gonna test this out definively.
  2. I am currently levelling a Savage/Dark Scrapper. If you know how to actually use the crit mechanic in Scrapper, it is INCREDIBLE. If you don't know how to use it, it's only awesome. I have had several savage melee toons, including the Savage/Dark on a brute (my first toon on Homecoming). They are good. My fire farmer is a Savage/Fire brute. It isn't bad on a tanker (bigger AoE). I will be trying it on a stalker one day. You just have to know how to use it. Savage has SEVERAL mechanics going on that require player adjustment to optimize. It isn't as cut and dry as stacks of blood frenzy, especially when savage leap is involved. Savage Leap has it's own mechanic going. It does more damage depending on the distance from which you start the attack. At close range, it isn't that strong. At it's max range, it's insanely powerful. I always add 2 +5 range IOs to it for more damage.
  3. Island Rum definitely doesn’t work anymore. You need the homecoming launcher.
  4. This is my main, Nux, a Dark/Dark Scrapper. He does insane damage. High recharge, Dark Regen proc’d with the scrapper chance for crits and theft of essence: chance for +endurance. Dark regen is the engine that runs the whole build. Plus he is supper fun to play.
  5. ARE YOU KIDDING!? Do you realize the complete and utter mayhem I could cause having something as unwieldy as KICK at level 2!? I mean, I might get to level 4 one or even TWO minutes faster than normal!?
  6. To be honest, THIS is what we should be talking about. This change alone is going to impact a huge number of players. I can tell you for a fact that a majority of my toons are forced to take the tier 1 secondary as the first power. It is a power that I neither want, nor use. In fact, with the added ability to reject the tier 1 secondary, most of my tanks will instantly get a respec. All my new blasters will be respec'd. I will then pwn the entire game and all of COH will be my oyster. You've been warned. Fear me. Edit: Hideless stalkers will now be a thing. That would be fun to test viability. I probably will take placate over hide on some builds!
  7. In a former life, I was an engineer at a company that had far more variables than this game does. There are ways to obtain numbers without running something hundreds of times. You simply need to change what you are trying to determine. For instance, if I am asking "how does this change affect the absolute fastest time possible?" then we will be spending years looking at that, because no one knows what that number originally was, and they certainly aren't going to determine it now. Instead, we need to just get an overall general idea of what the change could bring. Here is what I am proposing: A team volunteers to run a TF as it currently stands. They calculate their time from the moment they begin, until they receive completion awards. Then that same team goes and runs it in Beta. They copy the same information, and make it available in the forum. Have several teams do this. Have the same team do this. Have the same people, using various toons do this. It does not matter whatsoever. You will then be able to determine, on a general level, how these changes will affect gameplay. That is all anyone really needs, because few players are going to feel more than a general impact. This change does not represent anything that won't be immediately absorbed into normal gameplay. @Marbing Will someone give this man a raise, please?
  8. I run a dark/dark scrapper named Nux. He’s sick. Truly disgusting damage and so much fun to play. I know Dark/Dark isn’t on your list, but he is a total blast. His secret: Dark Regen fuels the whole build.
  9. I personally blame @th0ughtGun for all of the indominatable troubles. If he wasn't so good of a player, others might feel like they had a chance to shine, but alas.... 😛 But in all reality, I think COVID-19 probably helped with server populations in a tremendous way, and now we are seeing the decline as people go back to their normal, boring lives.
  10. I would like to point out that @th0ughtGun needs @America's Angel to give a link for those videos! Also, There is a toon that I have made recently named lNFERNO (he's a fire/martial/soul dominator). He's got great potential for mob wiping solely because of the copious amount of procs I have given him. He frequently pegs out on damage cap (300%) and mops the floor with a lotta stuff. However, I sacrificed survivability to do it. He's a glass cannon dominator, insane DoT, but with 0 heals (he relies explicitly on his own regeneration rate to heal). I have taken barrier just to help him survive a bit. I am considering respecing him and tossing several powers in favor of having the teleportation pool. We'll see though. For him, there was a tradeoff I willfully made: take a FEW defensive powers (just for LoTG slotting) and the rest of his powers are designed to increase damamge output and KD/Hold/immobilize everything directly around his damage aura. If he can get the baddies first, he wins. If they get him first...oof. The point is this: it is because of his primary powers that he already has that I am able to do this. They are the foundation for his abilities. The procs just make everything go much faster. But even if I took them all out, he would still completely incapacitate the enemies, still get to damage cap and still mop the floor with them, just slower. I think that is an appropriate use of procs: getting the DPS I need to not make everything gruellingly slow. But for a non damage AT, I can see the frustration.
  11. So the question I have is this: Would it be better to wait until the first one wears off before applying the 2nd? Thanks!
  12. @Burk The numbers are just like @Gobbledegook states. They alternate. When not allowing the particle shielding to drop, odd sequences give 1110.3 (1st, 3rd, 5th, etctimes applied) and even sequences give 763.7 (2nd, 4th, 6th, etc times applied). Originally, I had it as an autopower, but now I don't, because I want 1110.3 reliably. This is an important consideration when tanking Hami, Marauder, or several other major AVs that I have built him for. It may be minor to some, but I would at least like to report it (and maybe get the bug finder badge, haha!)
  13. When I activate particle shielding, I get an absorb shield of 1110.3. However, if I activate it again, with 100% health plus absorb shield, it reduces my absorb shield to 763.7. Pretty sure it should not reduce! I understand not wanting it to stack, but pretty sure this is wrong.
  14. I have an ice-rad sentinel named Cold Fusion and struggled to build him. I would love to see a good build for this as well!

  16. @arnabas, Do you have any recharge enhancements in it? If so, that's what made it pretty bad for me. I had to toss all the recharge enhancements in order to get the effect. If not, I need to run some comparisons between tank, brute, and scrapper.
  17. There are of course many options. However, my original post was really about my dark/dark scrapper, Nux. I am still working on him (I don't ever use mids. Pen and paper for me). However, I completely do not understand why people would suggest that the Theft of Essence proc is only mediocre. I have a high, high recharge build. My Dark Regen CD is just under 9 seconds. It is in my attack chain in such a way that it fires as soon as it is off of cooldown (it appears twice in my attack chain). The way I have it setup, it is the source my my +50% critical strikes, 80% of endurance recovery (I do take ageless for the recharge, and bonus +recovery, but this only gets applied when I notice it is down), -res, and a few damage procs. I may slot it with a KD proc soon. There are of course other ways to handle endurance. For those of you who chose cardiac as your alpha, you will of course not play this way nor need to rely so heavily on a proc like this. In fact, you probably will notice little benefit from it. I may move to cardiac in the future (boost my -res), but I doubt I will. For those who are brutes and have taken energy mastery, you probably won't need this. But my goal is to maximize DPS AGAINST a non-cardiac endurance solution. I like cardiac, but frankly, don't need it with this playstyle. My endurance bar bounces around like crazy. I have little in my build to help reduce endurance cost or boost my recovery (save for ageless). However, combined with my habit of mob jumping, I have found this to be an effective solution to never worrying about endurance. I start popping recovery serum whenever I have to face off against only a few baddies. If you wanna see, come team up with me in Indom some day!
  18. The G.O.A.T. SG runs nightly mission teams, Task Force Tuesdays, Farmin' Fridays and a whole lot of other random stuff. We also have a LARGE coalition that really adds to the mix of available things! Send message to @Nux Aukairo for further details!
  19. Theft of essence, which gives only a small amount of endurance per proc, is utterly useless as is in a single target power, and almost as useless in an autopower. It barely offsets the total cost of firing a healing power multiple times to get the proc to go off. However, in Dark Regeneration, it really shines. If the devs want to nerf the proc because someone found some use out of a completely pointless set, then go ahead, there are other ways to mitigate endurance issues (that is not a challenge, but if talking about how awesome something is warrants the negation of it, then why have any proc at all?). This particular one is costly because I had to build my somewhat low-damaging heal into my attack chain, which does reduce DPS. I made the most of it by putting -res and other damaging procs into it. I sacrificed slots in other places to do it, not because I was turning it into a proc monster, but because I needed to make up for lost DPS that I sacrificed (and did not fully recover with this method mind you) by sticking a heal in my attack chain. Also, I will say this: the utter and abysmal weakness of doing this is that if I have to face off 1v1 with a baddie, I will not be able to recover endurance very well. I absolutely depend on mobs surrounding me to make this build work. It works marvelously well, unless I am soloing a single baddie, then it is very difficult to keep endurance up. That's why I have ageless, that's why I have p2w powers, etc that help offset these difficult circumstances when I know they will arrive. In face, my damage, regen, recovery and overall survivability suffer greatly when faced off against few baddies because of the nature of Dark/Dark. The point of this post was to share something with the whole community that I found to be useful.
  20. In low levels, I have found kismet's +accuracy to be sufficient to not need to slot any accuracy in Dark Regen. In fact, I have 0 accuracy enhancements in it and I have no problems whatsoever with accuracy. I have been experimenting with it here lately. I actually just put in my Scrapper's +50% crit chance proc in there and it procs very frequently. I have almost no endurance problems whatsoever now, especially since he is a high recharge build (spiritual and ageless). Dark Consumption may get the boot here soon, necause I don't really need it, apparantly.
  21. I cerntainly hope that they would not nerf it. It already comes in with a built in downside: if your endurance is low enough and you attempt to heal, you completely drain of endurance, detoggle, and then your endurance bar fills. I would say this is problematic enough to warrant no adjustment. I keep a few blues on me just in case I have a low endurance bar before I heal.
  22. Ladies and Gentlemen, If you all are aware of this, please forgive me. I have recently discovered one of the greatest proc benefits I never knew: Slotting a single Theft of Essence: Chance for +Endurance into Dark Armor's Dark Regeneration. It has a chance to proc for every single baddie surrounding you. I have reliably filled my entire endurance bar when surrounded by many a mob. Of course I have the standard +recovery or + endurance procs, but this one takes the cake and it is ONLY THIS EFFECTIVE ON DARK ARMOR! Apparantly it is also effective on Bio Armor (which I have never used!) I made a Dark/Dark Scrapper and threw the proc in the heal in order to try to mitigate my nightmarish endurance problem. BOOM! Started seeing my endurance bar fill entirely! So I geared my toon to be high recharge (do not add recharge enhancements of any kind into Dark Regeneration), and wow! My heal is now a 6-slotted proc bomb with -res and +endurance firing reliably! LOVE IT! Just thought I would share this discovery. I have made two tanks with Dark Armor recently and it works on them as well (and even better since they can hold aggro!)
  23. @parallelbars My Savage/Fire farmer, Charcoal, can clear Road Tunnel easily in 6:35 (of course with multiple runs, it can be slower because of incarnate cool down [lores]). The secret? 1) 4 obliteration on Savage leap + 2 +5 range increases. That attack does MORE damage the further away you activate it from the target. Even without 600% damage bonus, or any other inspirations (see 4), I am pegging out at 323-326 damage (-res makes the difference, I believe) on Bosses after fury builds up . The range went from 70ft to 109.75ft. That adds a bonus in which I barely have to spend any time travelling. I just savage leap from mob to mob. 2) My attack chain utilizes rending flurry every time it is off CD. It is in my attack chain twice. It is bracketed by a single stack of frenzy at least, sometimes 2-3, just depending on how far away savage leap was activated from. 3) I use Spiritual alpha, . Why? The recharge bonus I get does slightly more damage just because it helps savage leap coincide with mob kills. If it is slower, then I either spend time doing damage to only a few baddies, underutilizing my AoE. But, since spirtual gives me such a significant recharge bonus, just about the time I need to, I can Savage leap to the next mob, kill a bunch of minions in 1 hit and the remaining baddies from the previous group follow, because of the insta-minion kill. 4). Guys. GUYS! ULTIMATE INSPIRATIONS. I pocket 2 every run. If you are a dedicated farmer, you should have the threads to buy these like candy. They make a difference and DO NOT reduce xp/inf. They make you kill faster. And with road tunnel, you can use 2 and complete each session (Road Tunnel has 4 sessions). So, for 8 runs it's 240 threads, which isn't a problem for me, because I don't run Road Tunnel 24/7. Anyhow, I started using the Savage/Fire build offered in the OP. I have spent months experimenting with incarnates and tweaking it to have the current build I do. If you are on INDOM, come to the G.O.A.T. SG's Farmin' Fridays at 8:30 CST and send tell to @Koal for an invite! I'd love to show you the fastest fire farmer I have ever seen. 😉
