Horrible mission. Same issue, for me the ambush spawned but appeared as just another mob (not attacking me or following me around just sitting there), as I decided to kill everything (it's all XP right?) about the 3rd or 4th mob I killed I get mission completion.

Creating macros (I know it isn't this hard...)
Lost Ninja replied to Evangeline Blue's topic in General Discussion
Or use this: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1uHUi6BWFTYj4wbfGBs3LjZL88Fym6B-8EwDr18YZcY8/edit#gid=0 Copy/Paste the 3rd column text and complete as above to change it, to get a handy icon instead of the default macro text. eg: /macro_image "BlackKnights_Taunt" "My Taunt" "powexecname Taunt$$say $battlecry" -
It IS a network issue as far as I can tell but probably your network specifically. I frequently have the same issue loading in to PI/RWZ and sometimes Talos (hell all zones occasionally). The server that handles the handshake between your client and the actual zone server takes too long to respond. I haven't come up with any fixes apart from retrying until it does work. Hopefully now we can see it's an issue with connectivity rather than a hard crash someone who knows specifically what is going on can chime in. You'll appreciate for the efforts of troubleshooting a "Crash" is not the same as getting booted back to the login screen.

Literally ANYTHING to stop ranged henchmen from brawling
Lost Ninja replied to Weylin's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I have no idea if this is at all relevant, but when I was playing my Grav/Rad (Controllers) team the other day I was having the precise opposite issues with my pets. The Singularities would stay at range as soon as they "see" an enemy even when they'd be far more use in "melee", as I understand it they only have the two ST attacks (hold/immob). Would looking at how they function in combat be helpful in working out a way to prevent MM pets going into melee? -
I use Toe Bomber... 🙂

A Possible "Guardian AT" Solution
Lost Ninja replied to Steampunkette's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I was going to say much the same. But I'm trying to be less negative.... 😄 I am aware that a Guardian AT has been shown on some of the other servers but was under the impression that it was poorly executed by the person who added it. (That might be some drama between HC and the other servers IDK.) So I'm not even certain what the Guardian AT the OP wants to fix is. Is the Guardian AT the OP is talking about an actual existing HC AT, or are we talking about a playstyle (melee defender/corruptor/etc) or is the idea connected to the thread about the "Paladin AT"? -
Bearing in mind we can have normal Icon Employees in our bases now, they have completely removed the need for the difficulty NPCs. I would imagine that it is either an oversight or a programming difficulty behind not having the Icon Cosmetic Surgeon or whatever it's called or Null in Bases. But personally I'd love to see Null in the base. I don't think that to use a suggestion forums to make a suggestion is too out there though, and I see no reasons why we cannot ask.

New Archetype: Melee Supporter, Paladin
Lost Ninja replied to Croax's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
With the current UI I find these types of powers/inherents really annoying. Yet it seems to be the go to for interesting things to do with them. I don't really have an alternative but if they were to add this I'd hope that the could add an UI element separate from the Menu/XP Bar to show buff stacks. And/Or make the ring system (as seen in Water et al) work with the expanded tool bars. -
New Archetype: Melee Supporter, Paladin
Lost Ninja replied to Croax's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I'd like the AT but not the name. A Paladin is a religious Warrior in most games where I have come across it. We don't really need that association in this game. Guardian (as mentioned above) would fit the abilities just as well and doesn't - at least to me - have the same connotations. -
If a player cannot discover that other things are available (and the prices that they are listed for) on the AH for themselves I worry that higher levels of play or more difficult TFs might be too hard for them too. This game has a huge amount of variation in what you can build and quite a lot in what you can do (content wise), but it is far from difficult to understand most of the in game systems. Adding recipes to the AH in case people can't work out how to buy crafted IOs does nobody any favours, just dumbs the game down further. There is a help channel in game for a reason, these forums exist for a reason. If a player is incapable of finding out how to play without their hand being held I would suggest they find an easier game... Noughts & Crosses (Tic Tac Toe).

When you say crash do you mean a hard crash back to the desktop or back to login after a long load time? Which version of the game are you running (32Bit, 64Bit... etc) Computer details. Crashing (to desktop) on zoning to me sounds like a GPU or Memory issue. If it's a long load time then dropping back to the login it sounds more like a network issue.

Not been able to adjust body scales or gender on any of the base NPC Icon/Facemakers. Can adjust face scales on all Icon/Facemakers. IIRC Both the Icon cosmetic surgeon and the CoV version (I forget the name) have a different in game name than just Icon Employee or Facemaker. That's the NPC we need in our bases. 😄

I don't think that any of the archetypes mentioned (other than sentinels) are broken or need such sweeping changes. There are certainly under-performing sets within those ATs but that's more of a balance issue than a need for the whole AT to be changed. The HC Devs have already said that Sentinels are going to changed because they don't performs as well as they should.

Logitech G13 Razer N52 (Not sure these are even still made but they started off as a Belkin Nostrom n52 before being re-branded as Razor and given a back light (I think)). I use the G13 only difference from the above image is it's used in addition to the keyboard. (well button layout is different too but you get he idea... edit: Just had a look and it looks like the g13 has been discontinued, I love mine and was planning on getting a new one as the key caps are worn out (it's about 8 years old). https://gadgets-reviews.com/review/138-review-of-the-best-keypads.html - Some others... edit 2: The Razor Taturus is what the Belkin Nostromo has become. I used both the n50 and the n52 and loved their design but the software wasn't that great. I never upgraded to the Razor version as the G13 cam out and I liked that better. Logitech software was/is great and you can program (using LUA) your own stuff if you want.

Will the Leveling Pact feature be coming back?
Lost Ninja replied to ShardWarrior's topic in General Discussion
It was the "Play with a friend and get a bonus" style thing. Not the specific mechanics. Though I seem to recall you could grant bonus XP to other characters for each level achieved in a RAF IIRC, or was it granted when you hit 60? Something like that I think. My first level 70 Paladin got to 60 in that manner (mostly PLing my RAF duo through Scholomance and Stratholm (Had to look that name up it's so long since I gave a damn about WoW). Good times (in both games). 😄 -
The Good, The Bad, and the City of Heroes...
Lost Ninja replied to madpoet67's topic in General Discussion
Hates: Freaks that res 15 minutes after you kill them... Every other self ressing mob in the game does so pretty immediately after you defeat them. The freaks that wait around until you're ready to move on then either shoot you in the back or run away. I actively avoid Freaks if the mission is a kill all. All small sized maps, be that crystal caves, oranbega or council/5th column bases. The rooms are fine (apart from Layer Cake Room) just the tunnels between them. Annoying to navigate, frequently misleading with dead ends that still catch me out after all these years and for Oranbega and Council Bases, clutter on the sides of the tunnels to get stuck on. Seriously believe these environments were designed to annoy. Misleading Mission texts, "Interrogate Crey" What the hell does that mean? Is it a kill all? All mobs in last room (even though the last level of the map has two "final" rooms)? What? Oh wait it's some random boss mob not on the final level or even named... -
Will the Leveling Pact feature be coming back?
Lost Ninja replied to ShardWarrior's topic in General Discussion
As at the time I typically played duos, I used it a fair amount, it meant that I could break my duo, do some teaming then go back to the duo and still be the same level. However I always felt is was a "WoW has this thing so we'd better have it to compete..." type of thing. (Specifically: Recruit a Friend) -
I have bought nevermelting ice and regnerating flesh at 10k plus. It was the only price it could be bought at (I saw it for more too), and I had the inf to spend on it. And I for one have never had more than a couple of billion total across 2-3 accounts 30+ characters.

Base it on login for the global account rather than character level, make it very clear (emails to the connected forum account clear). Then after three months of zero activity those names are no longer locked. Names won't be reassigned unless someone requests them, but equally the name won't be locked behind a level cap. A level fifty from someone who has moved on and will never play the game again shouldn't be more valuable than the name of a lowbie only used for RP on an account that is used every couple of days. People who want to keep character names for characters that they might play in the future need to log in periodically. People who have low level characters holding onto a name for whatever reason don't automatically lose that character. Personally I'm being generous saying three months (for the amount of activity), personally I'd say 1 month. Don't log in for a month and you might lose character names. (Though I can think of a few reasons why someone might legitimately not be able to log in for a month (Armed Forces being one).)

Extra Generic Icons / Macro Specific Icons or Ring
Lost Ninja replied to Lost Ninja's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I have no idea who actually made it but I use this list: (it might be @Shenanigunner) https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1uHUi6BWFTYj4wbfGBs3LjZL88Fym6B-8EwDr18YZcY8/edit#gid=0 But that doesn't detract from wanting some more generic icons for things other than existing powers. -
I have both and the facemaker is identical to the icon employee in my base, they both have the same options as to what they will change or not.
-
Sound more like GW1 TBH, I don't ever recall skippable cut scenes in CoH.
-
There is an option to change what the mouse drag does, left drag and right drag. Couldn't find out how to actually bind them directly, so resetting them with the "load internal defaults" button was probably the best bet. Unless he's running a non Windows client (which he doesn't say) updating the client won't make any difference because the client will still load your normal binds.
