  1. After checking city of data, it doesn't look like any other controller pet gets containment damage, this is something new and entirely unique to arsenal control. It was a reasonable assumption to make on Frosticus' part, though. It makes sense and would be cool if other sets got this at some point.
  2. Been maining Grav for a year or two and this is definitely the set's biggest pitfall when it comes to its focus on positional control. The suggestions in this thread to allow power boost effects to affect teleport magnitude are pretty solid if raising the base magnitude is out of the question. Maybe adding a teleport magnitude adjustment to the Control Hybrid would make that hybrid see more usage, if only for grav users? (although don't let me distract from the simple change of the base magnitude - apparently Thunderspy did this and it works as expected with bosses and not on unintended stuff)
  3. Don't get me wrong, I totally agree with you. I think it would be really interesting if epic pools had significant impact and were genuinely 'epic' across the board. Or if boxing/kick/etc in fighting were picks someone could seriously consider to make a strong or unconventional fighting-based build that wasn't just for a gimmick/challenge. But going by precedent and general direction, that's not what HC's goals seem to be (obviously I can't know for sure but we kind of have to guess based on patterns), and it's pretty unlikely to change any time soon. I honestly don't think Hasten is a pool power that would have been made in the current environment if it didn't already exist.
  4. This has always been the case, not just for epics, but for regular power pools too - except for some select standouts that are either accidentally or intentionally the "correct" picks in most cases. The original devs really did their best to avoid having anyone potentially rely on power pools more than their primaries/secondaries. We've seen what happens when a power pool ability is "too good" - it ends up mandatory in nearly every build (i.e. hasten). It was the same way with the Fitness power pool, which eventually had to be made default because it was so good. If the torch is being carried along the same path as the original devs, then this is the way to go. Anything else would be an enormous meta shake-up, and HC seems to be trying to keep things pretty close to vanilla, just modernized a little bit. It'd be pretty far out of the usual if the epic pools weren't "one fine or at least passable power, a situational pick or two, and some obvious always-skips"
  5. I wonder what the reasoning was behind using Black Hole in the blaster dark epic. I don't know if there's anyone who plays and uses /dark anything that seriously considers taking the power once they know how it works (though this is anecdotal, probably a result of me usually playing with my damage-obsessed min-maxxer friends). Maybe there's a black hole rework on the horizon we just don't know about yet, and they're adding it in another place in advance? That said, It's not entirely useless, there's a place for extreme gimmick builds, but it definitely is a headscratcher at first glance. Maybe it's for someone's speedrunner build idea where they want to use black hole, then phase shift from stealth, to effectively silo and solo-fight a small number of targets in the phase realm? I could see that.
  6. Two suggestions for "Organic"! It might be better if instead of all of the effects at once, there were options to use only one of the power geometries at a time (i.e. "all", "right arm", "chest and right leg", "left leg" - I forget the exact powers these groupings correspond to) - I'm sure people will get use out of it either way, but it's quite a bulky effect when all are used at once, and being able to just use the right arm for example would open it up to more uses. I see that it's also noted as being specifically the geometry FX, but the "adaptation" effects from Bio Armor would also make for an excellent aether reward - if not for being bundled into "Organic", then for a future one maybe. They're such unique particle effects. Defensive and offensive adaptation both would fit well into a ton of character concepts for sure.
  7. Follow-up post with a video from Build 2, same settings: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1029958407282761768/1201209760633065502/cityofheroes_Zn7KsMvtEx.webm?ex=65c8fcc4&is=65b687c4&hm=26af37cc6d484928866ab19c1e64538d946338192966d132c379979cb8bdb265& Like the notes say, it knocks a whole lot more - not as much as the original, but noticeably better from build 1. It's more comparable to some other slip n slide type powers, closer to Freezing Rain's default state.
  8. It appears that Bonfire for Fire Control has been affected by the epic changes, but the change is presently unlisted here. Whether it's an unintentional change from altering those, or intentional and just slipped the list, KB->KD is knocking enemies much less to a drastic degree, removing the power's mitigation/control potential. Videos to demonstrate here - used fire cages and bonfire on +4x8 Circle of Thorns with my fire controller: Live: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1029958407282761768/1200886475278004334/cityofheroes_GQfY7Z0TuS.webm?ex=65c7cfaf&is=65b55aaf&hm=6e9d57a5b904c11bf6985684f4b724befcb0c569b49ea490ab5046659edb456a& Beta (BUILD 1 SPECIFICALLY): https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1029958407282761768/1200886474829205685/cityofheroes_ghMctrhD3A.webm?ex=65c7cfae&is=65b55aae&hm=297f3b5922912f21f88690f2264e2b8f1ca8874b7593153962ca6b33bd0d6986& I can still see this being a decent pick for the damage on controllers, but it does make fire control quite a bit riskier across the board, especially for a squishier AT like Dominator - something I could also see being intentional, given it was essentially far outshining other control sets with knockdown (i.e. ice slick). (p.s., the fact that Bonfire relies on an IO to even be considered in most cases (except for as a joke power in the vein of Black Hole or Detention Field) is a separate issue worth highlighting, but well out of scope for this thread)
  9. For the "Darkness" power, would it be possible to include the "Cloak of Darkness" effect? It's one of my favorites, along with the warshade's "Shadow Cloak", but neither Darkness nor Umbral rewards have it. Being able to completely hide your character's geometry like those two powers do opens up a lot of cool "invisible character" concepts that otherwise are impossible without using Warshade or Dark Armor. I posted a different suggestion about these a while back, where you can see a comparison of how they work significantly differently from regular cloak effects. They hide the character without hiding the aura, which is so cool. Though, I could easily see this being a completely separate prismatic effect for a later wave - "Invisible" or something.
  10. I only just found out about the 'exploit' build a few days ago and was excited to try out WS again as a result of hearing about its performance, sad to see it on the chopping block before I could really get the hang of it. Interestingly, while searching the WS discord channel for info about it, I even came across a conversation between Doom, some WS players, and one of the devs from June last year, about how it probably wouldn't be fixed until the class got a proper rework to justify its removal. I wonder what changed.
  11. This is a really clever way of offering the look of armor sets without explicitly requiring their use, definitely opens up some cool possibilities! 'Shocking' has so many options too! It'd be cool to see the "Crystal Armor" power's effect bundled into Earthen, though that could easily be its own effect at some point in the future since it's pretty different.
  12. Does this bit mean sentinels will get the lower cast time, but still retain the larger radius?
  13. Cloak of Darkness from Dark Armor and Shadow Cloak from Umbral Aura for Warshades both have very unique forms of invisibility FX! Unlike other powers which make the user slightly invisible, these two actually completely hide any hint of the user's body, but preserve auras. This makes it possible to do character ideas like 'a sentient ball of light' or other Animus Arcana type ideas. But due to these powers being limited to Scrappers, Tankers, and Warshades, it's not possible to do this on any other archetype and is limited by powerset theming. If you try with Stealth or any other powerset that offers invisibility (i.e. "hide" from stalkers), you can still see the body slightly and the illusion isn't there. The solution: add another level of invisibility to the FX customization for Stealth from the Concealment power pool! It already has two options for opacity - it would just be another level you could choose. Maybe "Full Transparency" or something.
  14. Female jackets (both sleeved and sleeveless) are missing the spectrum chest
  15. See title! Female characters do not have access to the spectrum option in "Chest" under these options: Shirts Jackets (both regular and Sleeveless) Bolero Trenchcoat Unique Tops Would be great to have for characters who use spectrum a lot. Always wanted to use one of the jackets with spectrum!
