Yes on super reflexes.  And Martial Arts sets that are melee and do not have shuriken.

But it is "Technology" not "Devices".  A broadsword, battle axe, and katana are definitely technology.  Unless you think humans naturally have broadswords somehow.

  2. I believe you get up to level 18 powers in the two Positron TFs.  So basically level 19 characters.  SO's only.

You fight Vahz, Clockwork, and CoT.  So you deal with toxic, END drain, and to hit debuffs.  You have to fight off the ambush on the city hall steps, your shadows, an EB or two, and an AV.

My go to is a dominator.  With domination up you can control your shadow dopplegangers and make that fight easy.  I also want one with a persistent area control - earthquake, static field, ice slick, etc.  You can drop that in front of the city hall doors and it makes the ambush easy to fight off.

I tried earth domination but earthquake and ice slick are terrible with clockwork.  They are vulnerable to knockback so instead of getting knocked down they get knocked away from it.  You can fix that, but not with SOs.

So I have settled on electric control for a primary.  Static field for general control and paralyzing blast (you get at 18) for the shadow dopplegangers.

For secondary I am thinking psionic.  Good against all of the foes, especially the clockwork.  But I am not settled on this.

Is there a better ATT or powersets to use for the Positron TF?

it would be a shame to have the single solitary Natural origin group who actually have a philosophical commitment to achieving perfection as unaugmented humans turn out to be just another bunch of magic users after all.

What powersets in the game would you accept as natural origin?  The only 2 I can think of are willpower and street justice for primaries and secondaries, with the fighting pool and leadership for pools.  Everything else is not something a human can do or uses technology.

    B...atman?

Batman has body armor and gadgets.  He is considered a natural but many posters in this thread would consider him technology because of his gadgets.

Give some warriors armor and interesting weapons.  Give them trick arrows and other powers and I would be happy with them being interesting.

I consider the Warriors to be an element in the game that makes the suspension of disbelief less necessary.

I find the reverse.  The skulls use death magic and are lower level than the Warriors.  How are the warriors as normals with swords and camouflage pants tougher than Skulls?  Make the Warriors levels 1-5 and that makes sense.

The Warriors for me were always wanna be Hellions.   Street level gang that is afraid to dabble in the true dark arts.  What's the point?  No real threat and kind of an uninspired backstory.

It always seemed weird to me that the Warriors and Family who use regular weapons are more powerful than the skulls, hellions, and trolls that have super powers.

  7. I'm not saying they are underpowered or overpowered.  They are just boring.  Their look is so normal it is boring  Their attacks are boring.  I can't think of any special types of warriors like sorcerers or shamans that you pay special attention to.  They just seem like a generic mob of guys with swords.

Is that a problem?  Is it less fun to do missions with them?  Is it good because they are the palate cleanser between other groups?

That's a strong combo? I've played a tank with it and it never exactly felt strong. Fun as hell but not strong.

It has a large number of AoEs.  The assumption is you are using IO set bonuses to make your character nearly invulnerable so all that really matters is how much damage you do.

  9. Blood & Treasure was a summer show on CBS.  12 episodes available on Prime Video.

The show has a strong James Bond feel with some Indiana Jones.  A straight arrow retired FBI agent teams up with a thief to hunt down the terrorist who killed her father.  They travel around Europe and a bit in the U.S. and North Africa.  A lot of fancy dress in casinos, banks, etc.  But the terrorist has stolen the sarcophagus of Anthony and Cleopatra from Egypt, so they are hunting that down and there is archaeology and tombs and museums as well.

The show involves a secret society, the mob, nazi's, lots of intelligence agencies and police.  The heroes team with the police, go rogue, work with criminals, and do whatever it takes to track down the terrorists.  Lots of changing loyalties.

It's a fun show.  It is very consistent in quality and tone - how you feel about the first episode will be how you feel about the whole thing.  And it is totally serial but wraps up the story at the end of the season - no cliffhanger.

  10. Being stuck at home I can visit exotic places on youtube with 4k walking tours.  Somebody walks around at a normal pace and films what they see in 4k.  It's smooth so no seasickness and it gives you a real feeling for being there.  I put them on while I'm working as background.

Two I really like are from different channels.

    The Pyramids of Giza

    Venice

  11. So if I understand this correctly:

You want the game balanced around IOs.  Which is a meaningless statement given the flexibility of IOs.  Presumably you mean you want the game balanced based around the best possible build using IOs.

Then, to make it fair, you want the prices of IOs lowered so that everyone has access to them and can make characters with the best possible IO builds.

Which means you want everyone to have the same builds with little effort.

The easy solution is to eliminate enhancements entirely.  Just give the powers the effects you want them to have with the IOs.  Then everyone has the best build at no effort.  Save all of the steps.

  12. I'm soloing with a stalker.  It plays totally different than my dominator.

With my stalker I can skip most of the spawns and a fight is very quick - with some downtime between fights waiting for recharge.

With my dominator (plant) I can confuse a spawn and then take them out one by one.  Fights can be slow because I am safe.  But I don't skip spawns.

I know traps normally has a different playstyle, brute is all about maintaining momentum.  What are the various playstyles that ATs and powersets inherently have?

  13. I'm half done with Striga but it doesn't excite me.  I haven't done it post-snap but I did it a lot live.  And I don't want to do Croatoa or First Ward with this character - it doesn't fit the theme.

I want to do old school contacts.  There are a lot of contacts opening up, but I don't know which ones have good story arcs or missions.  Any recommendations at the level 25-30 level?

  14. I've always been annoyed by travel times in game.  Especially in Talos and IP.  When I had a character exit a mission and have to fly to the train halfway across IP, I noticed that the temporary flight pack had a countdown timer of its duration.  So I timed how long it took - under 30 seconds.

I couldn't believe that I'd been so bothered by 30 seconds of travel time.  Just knowing how little time it takes has made me accept it.
