  1. Bases are as relevant as you want them to be. Personally I use my home base all the time because its way more convenient to me to sell my excess vendor junk there, change my costume, buy my merits, craft my IOs or even portal around when LRT is on cooldown. But then, I built that base to be relevant and useful to me, because I planned on using it. If you find using personal crafting tables or university crafting tables or Icon/Facemakers or LRT to meet your needs, then no, maybe bases aren't going to be relevant to you. And that's fine, as the game isn't going to be played the same by all people, and some people will find some aspects of it more important than others. Frankly I find Atlas Park irrelevant, I never go there, but that doesn't mean that its irrelevant to the games population as a whole.
  2. I am sure the 8 sec suppression is great for people who never pay attention to their toggles to notice that before they got turned off, but for those of us who do, the 8 sec suppression is a horrible, horrible nerf. It's basically causing the mez to last 8 seconds longer than it did before, and on some power sets could actually be fatal. If nothing else can you at minimum make the offensive toggle suppression an option? That way people who would prefer just having their toggles turned off to the 8 sec suppression afterwards can just do it manually like we have been.
  3. But instead of using end game content to get end game powers, instead people will just... not. And they'll be harder to encourage to get -into- end game. Even now with the farms it can be a pain and a half to convince people who have never done iTrials to give them a shot because they feel like they can't contribute. Sometimes taking them into a farm to get them a few Empyrian Merits and showing them how to build an incarnate can push them to do more. I'm just wondering who gaining levels in farms hurt? I mean I know some people get incredibly upset others enjoy the game differently than them, but why force a playstyle down someones throat?
  4. Adding (Unofficial RP server) or even (Unofficial PVP server), (Unofficial EU server), (Unofficial Old Man Yells at Cloud server), (Unofficial Etc server) tags to the server choices you get could go a long way towards helping people figure out where they want to be, and reduce the chances of them ending up in a place they aren't comfortable with. But keep them tagged as unofficial, so that way the devs and GMs don't have to do any more work catering to the server with rules or events. Basically just let people know without having to log into the forums how the community has decided to sort themselves out. I don't think anyone is advocating to force any non-RPer off of the server. It would be a huge loss for all the non-RPers to leave! They are by and large wonderful people who contribute a great deal to Everlasting! But an unofficial tag would also mean if someone for some stupid reason -did- want to say the server was RP-only, well, non-RPers would be well withing their rights to tell that fool to shove it 😄 Nor do I think an unofficial tag would make people leave, as in many other MMOs I've had conversations with Non-RPers who chose to roll on official, clearly marked RP servers for many various (non-trolling) reasons and were very happy with their choice.
  5. Just out of curiosity, which alignment are you? I know a time or two I've clicked on my portals and been confused as to why the blue zones weren't working, until I realized I was on a full Villain character. Full Villains can't access Blue zones, so they will show no destinations, and full Heroes can't access Red zones, so likewise those portals will show up blank for them.
  6. Yup! If you hit f5 while building it will toggle between placement locations, flipping through wall, floor, ceiling, and surface. Surface will attach it to whatever it is pointed at, but you have almost no control over rotation and its very finicky. The option that will give you the most control I find is to place a glass floor, hit F5 to get the floor option, and then place it on the glass, rotating, pitching, or adjusting height to where ever you need it from there. You can delete the floor afterwards with no ill effects.
  7. There is a list on the Base Builder Cheat Sheet post with all the ambient music/sound effects you can use. I don't know if the foghorn is on there, but you can test them out.
  8. For my Dark Wood base I don't need to lead a tour. Judge it on its own merits!
  9. Base/SG name: Dark Wood Passcode: Woods-13802 Contact: @decomposey It is a public RP base, designed merely to be a canvas upon which other people can paint their stories.
  10. So I posted this a bit ago in the MacGyver thread because I think the wardrobe came out rather well: It came out so well in fact that I had to give it what ever well made wardrobe needs. A portal.... ... to Narnia
  11. Because I needed a place to store clothes, but the base layout didn't support a closet, I had to improvise. Two Bank Teller Bottoms on their sides doe the main body, two Bank Teller bottoms upside down for the base,, a row of Bank Teller Top over the top to make it flat and even, and two Tsoo Pens as the handles
  12. Ah, usually I run with form of the soul, so the endurance from energize isn't really needed.
  13. I'm curious as to why you invested so much into recharge and Hasten. I know on most builds you want your attacks as fast as possible but staff attacks, compared to most other weapons, take forever to complete, so your attack speed is more limited by the animations themselves instead of by your recharge rate. Also all of your attacks have toxic damage for some reason, and I can't for the life of me figure out where it is coming from. I would like to know, because I would love to steal it 😄 But below is one of my builds (I have 3), focused more on surviveability and accuracy, because I got really annoyed at +4x8 missions when stacking Death Mages or Night Widows meant I would hit nothing. It does great in group content and iTrials, being especially fun during anything where Psi damage is a concern because you're mostly immune to it. | Copy & Paste this data into Mids Reborn : Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1529;691;1382;HEX;| |78DA6594594F53411886E7D053B1142C605B968258768A9496C5DD18B514179AA0E| |08D9AD4937A80C65A485B14F4CAC4F5D61BFF8257FE0AF7786D5C7E807881A88088| |C6D4AF7DDF949A4E72FACCBC33DFCC3BDFCC34B210AA7C3A7AFBA8D22A4F248C743| |A3A6924AF9A296BC4988EC72C4A4AB97CCD50A32173CA4CA64DFF48C28C6552F158| |F458EADA6CCAC3DE8899304DFF44C6989A8A86E3D3339978725AD9C7676713FE702| |2D7AE429D5DFFB71CF9D698695C3153E999F89C6B642E1EF31F4FCD67CC68643E1A| |31D21933B5582F66FAE47BE6901F2D672FABAB35F119D455FD3AE8FD05F6F46BA00| |F5CF12A96AC4545055D127309ECBB00062F82CF657E0DF35BB5EB2A1F5F76835C00| |F545F22658710B7C21B1167AB3D04B233D36D263D326B87B03FC2EDEACF066B5BE8| |3B6ED13F91EDCFE81FC0856FCCD9D8CAE5ECA7AE5584F2BAFD3F29AB71EB4C9E9D9| |D86773210F6E27FA5E499C9D7BB40FA3AF72901C007704C9006387C01FE2B70A7EB| |5AA6419F6940657A5CFC1BD38F643AB3E401E046B0F918741E711F0B504D670DE9A| |65ECD3B904AEC9BC3BE137FB46C6B95057AE36E4DD2E7BAD43ACAAF320A64CB4066| |A0D5929CA228A87919E018CD2456B66269ACF40DB15264F93277962A7C851F0AD38| |69E1AD6A096117DE11B03D0C768D829BB2835666A6F58E9ED7DAEE92F7C8FB60FB0| |3F221F85B623B18DBD189F93ABBC86EB287EBF9C85EF0B258ED666CF779683D93A0| |EF2C798E9C0083E3A021B1BD8CED1D80B667901C2287C1BEBDE43EB046F2EA475E2| |DFE5ADC9CFE6AD249F2562AB752019E5460952F582FBCF26C935E78BDB9A69CE458| |8932AE73B8285A5E59AE28BC632A5F4B949562C58B95BF6D699AF6981979047E761| |7D6CD2E15D5BF14D57D25DE02254AB044192C51864A145BB5FCBB709527729982CC| |CF1FF7567D3DF75238E667517DA3A8FE0FC25C01B9| |-------------------------------------------------------------------|
  14. Oh I ain't gonna lie, people -do- go to the D for that, and likley any time you visit there will be one or two who are pretty blatant about the fact that that is what they are there for. But to say -most- people go to the D for ERPs is inaccurate. Some do. Most don't, and saying that they do paints them in an unflattering light. Most people I see there go in order to interact with and meet people, make friends, or just generally hang out.
  15. Much has changed, but not in the past year. I'm not sure if the kitchen and bath items that were added were in the past year or not, but those are the last changes to base building that I can recall. Its been a while since anything new was added. But if that was in the past year, then yes, there are some new items in the base builder, mostly under the kitchen and bath tab. Plates, silverware, coffee makers, toiler paper roll holders and such. Other than that I don't think there are nay new developments.
  16. Honestly I think this is particularly biased, elitist, an unfair of you. Yes, there are some people in the D there to flirt, but just as many go there because it s a centralized place where they can be sure to find other RPers. Not everyone in game is on discords or even the forums, so they don't know what groups are out there unless they see in game recruitment in one of the global channels, they don't know about bases designed for RP, and they don't have any contacts, so they have to reach out to random strangers -somewhere-. I go there myself because I don't feel comfortable in VG/SGs, but I like to meet new people. It's also a good place to hang out there while I work on my AE arcs, sell/buy from the AH, or other account maintenance activities because that's where I know I can be found. And if someone approaches me, I make an extreme effort to include them. If I see someone interesting off in a corner I'll generally try to include them even if they don't reach out, and just sit there emoting to themselves. The issue is -interesting-. Unless you are something that particularly stands out, like an eyeless rat eating sewer mutant, or a nine foot kaiju, you're going to just blend in with the crowd. Another fresh faced hero out to save the world, or demon trying to redeem themselves, or an angsty orphan from Kings Row isn't going to really to be something msot people haven't already seen 10 times already. That's why you have to really make a point to sell yourself. Like the initial post says, you -have- to fish. You have to reach out, constantly, facing being rebuffed or ignored. And yeah, you're not going to get a lot of bites at first. One here and one there if you are lucky. But every person you meet will probably know someone else, and even with a few bites you can start building a networks for contacts and friends. It helps if you realize that all those people standing alone around the bar not talking to you ar eprobably in exactly the same boat you are. Try reaching out to them instead of the larger groups who are already occupied. Now while I do disagree with the post above this about pocket D, I do agree with their closing advise. You have to keep trying. Its will be discouraging at first. It will be hard. But ultimately one bite at a time you can build connections. There is no crowbar to force your way in, you have to put in the work.
  17. I went with a pretty standard split for my portals. Redside, Neutral (including Praetoria), Blueside, and Hazard Zones However, I couldn't get everything to fit everywhere, with the new Shadow Shard portals. So I had to come up with a solution. Luckily my Incarnate Lore pets (storm elementals from the Storm Palace) were able to help! Both of them contain portals to all four Shadow Shard zones.
  18. This is why often when a magical character gets into a magical discussion with other magical characters, inevitably someone ends up uttering: "Magic is bullsh*t" Not that it isn't real bullsh*t. But that its not internally consistent, often contradicts itself, and follows strict rules except when it does the opposite, bullsh*t.
  19. No we don't. Have you -seen- some of the bargain basement cons Big Spider pulls out of the Zig and dumps in Mercy? Some of them don't even last a day before they disappear, never to be seen or heard from again. I think the snakes eat them. Look, Praetorian person, you want blue skies, green grass, and as many clenched sphincters as you can shove a steel rod up, you got to Paragon city. Just be warned, all the blatant crimes in broad daylight they have going on over there may come as a bit of a shock, after leaving Imperial City. You wanna do what you want and dare anyone to stop you, you come to the Isles. Simple as that. Either way, make sure you make a visit to Primal Earth Hamidon and kick him in the goo. I'm told for Praetorians its very cathartic.
  20. I just tested it and the pieces are there for females. Spectrum bottom are under bottoms, spectrum. Spectrum boots are under the second option under many boot styles, such as Smooth, Stiletto, or Platform, and scrolling all the way to the bottom for the Spectrum option.
  21. I have one, up in the low 40s at this point, however I can't comment on the solo potential since I made the character NOT to solo, and have had friends help me with testing it group potential. I have some gripes, like the fact that it's almost impossible to chain stuff back to me unless I'm far closer to combat than I want to be when I target my friends. I hadn't planned on taking the sentinel, but I ended up doing so just so I could hit myself with my powers without running into enemy AOE range. Also the fact that no one ever stands close enough together for all of them to get hit (I suppose this is my fault for grouping with a friend who's global name includes the word 'spazz'). But even without good slotting, the buffs seem useful, and they are loving getting electrocuted back to full endurance. I'm having fun with it so far, and I look forward to seeing how it performs at 50 in some harder trails or incarnate stuff.
