  1. I haven't played in a while myself, mainly due to having limited time and working a lot and trying to rotate other games in. This game has always been like that for me though. I play it hard for a month or so then take a break, then after a while I find myself itching to come back and do it again.
  2. I've been forcing myself to play the characters I've currently made, which is now about 12. (probably more) I believe I have every AT except stalker. I've been doing this for a few weeks now, so I can actually get one of them to max level and have an income inflow. The problem is, when I'm away from the game, I am thinking of alts and power combos and old characters or characters from other games I could make. I could easily have double the amount I currently have, but I just don't have any time to actually play them. Help me!
  3. Well I haven't tried it, but Carrion Creepers is a pet power (it calls Creeper Patch, which then summons Creeper Vines). So I wouldn't expect it to do anything; it would proc for individual Creeper Vines, and as pets their powers should be unaffected by +Rech. Ah yes, thank you. I completely forgot about the +Rech and pets. I wasn't really thinking of them as true pets for whatever reason.
  4. That's totally normal at early levels. Best advice I can give you is have some patience. This class is a late bloomer compared to some others. At early levels, picking up the prestige attacks off the P2W vendor will make life much, much easier, outside of grouping up with others. Overall though, it is a very powerful class later on, but you are mainly supporting others by locking down the baddies or buffing/debuffing the group.
  5. My villain character is from a far off galaxy, here to "collect" the energy of this world so that he can fuel the dying star that keeps his planet and race alive. He is a hero to his people. Obviously, not to anyone else on this world. I basically made him sort of a cosmic vampire, dark/electric brute that sucks energy from others and grows in strength. I have hardly had the time to play him though, and mainly am focused on my heroes at the moment. Overall, I tend to like characters that are borderline grey, though I do have a few heroes who are very heavy towards the good scale.
  6. They've change the tree from what I remember (probably ca I19 or perhaps even before). It no longer has any special uses such as blocking doors. It's just a static +Regen power which only has significant value in sustained fights (it works well at the end of the Yin TF, for example, or any AV fight). Whereas Entangle really only has use soloing at lower levels. Both are filler powers that take up slots to make them useful, so neither is particularly valuable. Adding Entangle in place of Spirit Tree to the posted build would just require moving some powers down in the build (which is why I didn't do it). You can bump Roots and Hasten down and then either travel or your minor mez prot (that's what CJ is... with two critical cone powers, being able to move is essential... and you can put a -KB in it too). Yeah, it just doesn't seem that great outside of a few select circumstances and the investment into it seems like it could be better spent elsewhere. I don't remember it blocking doors, haha. Granted, I came and went with this game a few times. (I hate you WoW, look what you did! =P) A question though, how is Force Feedback recharge proc in creepers? Anyone try this? Thought about sticking it in there while leveling before I invest into all the sets to get some more uptime on it. Creepers have so many set options, it's hard to decide.
  7. I mostly agree with this, as someone who is leveling a plant/dark atm, except for a couple points. Entangle is probably my most used damage ability at low levels when solo'ing or just keeping mobs out of melee range. Prestige powers are good at supplementing damage, but they miss like crazy because you can't put accuracy in them. At higher levels or with a group, sure you can avoid this power, but while leveling I see no reason not to have it. I certainly wouldn't rate it as low as you did. And the other one.... Spirit Tree. I found it absolutely terrible. I respec'd out of it as soon as I could. The cooldown is way too long and the healing too minimal compared to other options. You have to waste a bunch of slots to make it decent at best. If you have a healing power in your secondary, you are way better off going with it.
  8. Go into character customization and change the pistol animations to no redraw. It seems to help. You are right though, some powers do feel kind of slow compared to others.
  9. I've played a ton of MMO's over the years, but nothing quite captured the spirit of this game. Granted, it WAS the MMO that started it all for me, until WoW sucked me away. I then fell into a spiral of trying every new MMO that came afterwards, with a brief return to CoH around the time CoV came out; but I didn't stay for very long for whatever reason at the time. I never imagined I would be playing it again, but here we are; and with great joy might I add. I haven't played a game that made me want to sit at my computer all day in a long, long time.
