  1. like the title says... you, your fam, your pets, friends... best meme/net costumes you've seen this year, etc our Leopard Tortoise, Spunky, went as a witch again... but i think she's outgrowing her fav costume this year:
  2. loads of other peeps with great suggestions already, so instead of repeating, my mind goes to another thought entirely... ...Runi. i'd met her through her brother, Con, who i'd been friends with a long time. she became a good friend in-game who had serious health issues IRL that prevented her from being fully involved 100%. i'd (and i'm sure others) have her put her char on auto-follow to mine, watching for hang-ups & peeling aggro off, attempting to position us to make best use of both chars. she did whatever she could, & sometimes that included unexpected AFKs or sleep. didn't matter to me, & we made sure the team was full of others who were either friends or weren't bothered (oh we booted some, fo sho). she was welcome at all times, even speed runs. Runi was sweet & caring, great to chat with, & i miss her. we lost her long ago. point is, find some good peeps who care for your enjoyment of the game, & try not to worry about how much you're "contributing". the right peeps will always hold the door open for ya. GL 🙂 f... i need a tissue now
  3. can also attest to the potential "tankiness" of Water/Atom, & agree with how powerful (& wildly under used) Void Radial is. initially i built /Mace (as was the meta of 2014) & landed similarly in durability to Linea's posted build (slightly more Def to N & positionals, Res to SLEN, HP & Regen) ...but with lower dmg output due to no Hasten (i know, i know! had to have CJ for melee mobility & -Immob) & half the slots in Tidal/Ion. didn't jump into the deep end with it (not aware if 801 existed then), and hadn't actually played the sets before doin the build... but as Blasters typically are, loads of fun & power at EX'd down gameplay, just surprised me what it could handle. the only part that kinda let me down, was if/when an attack snuck through, it hurt pretty bad. esp late game. eventually changed to /Mu & moved a bunch of stuff around, including gettin Rune at 22, which was incredible when stacked on all the +Res. new build did lower Def between .4-3.2% below softcap (actually picked up more N, & B.Decay still covers more than the gap), lost a small bit of HP/Regen, & ToHit/Rech (which wasn't too bad due to B.Decay, again). but the durability... sweet baby science... better at ALL levels, esp later, due to the SLE Res. char just did things it really shouldn't, esp if you're prepared & watchin your timers as Lin notes. went all-in towards tankiness, but i'm sure that's not for everybody, & know some peeps will believe you've destroyed the meaning of the AT. ;D no time to build or play lately, but new /Earth sounds like it could be good too?
  4. great observation, Sov, & thx for pointing it out :)
  5. understandable pov, & didn't intend to be dismissive of your passion for this. feels far less serious a subject to me (and like i said, THOUSANDS of Regen hrs clocked - loved the set)... sometimes a lil laugh is needed ;D imho, if you feel it really important to see Regen fixes, find those who make it happen & keep pleading the case directly. every server/iteration has had it's cliques of those who can get things done, and players they befriend/prefer to listen to... all the way back to Live. keep your stick on the ice!
  6. edit: aww, @Solarverse ...just a joke, buddy - no need to thumb-down! after thousands of hours playtime & a couple really successful builds, agree Regen could use some sensible fixes... but despite all-manner of controlled testing, maths, & unity on reasonable conclusions... it just never happens. it's all out there, many times over, even before HC... but until those who have time to code take an interest & start the convo with a genuine resolute, we're still in the same feedback loop. also, i love horses ;D
  7. WB as @Meknomancer mentioned, consider starting a 2nd acct for a farming brute. @FourSpeed has a great start-from-scratch thread worth reading: and i've got a thread on maxing-out Spines/Fire/Mu as cheaply as possible: i have a very old (circa 2014) icap build you're welcome to if ya like. since moved on to SR on Brutes (to take advantage of HP, give the Scaling Res mechanic a better head start & ceiling, improve E/N Res), but it worked well for Incarnate content.
  8. likely inexperienced and/or lack a quality build necessitating the added +End/Heals... which might indicate a slower or low-lvl farm, making it easier for a run-of-the-mill/PuG Kin to survive. a high-end farmer would prefer a Corr that adds dmg output itself along with sharing +speed & Fulcrum (not a Controller, due to how Containment negatively affects bunching), but the Kin would need built for farming (cap Res & softcap Def to the dmg type) either way. my experience has been that a high-end farming brute only duos with a Corr Kin if they want company 😄 plus everything @Hjarki & @Doomguide said.
  9. might also look into Rad melee. fastest i've witnessed was a friend on a Rad/Rad Brute ...lotta tools & slotting options in there for the things that slow an ITF.
  10. i feel ya! Regen scrapping ...so much upkeep just to get down the same road. but, there's somethin to be said about driver involvement that newer cars lack. a certain presence, mindfulness, and higher degree of concentration -which can be rewarding. 😄 wife's Mazda 6 is an incredible bit of modern kit, great value, & quite pretty in it's own way, but we both know the troublesome & quirky & uncomfortable 5-speed LS ElCo is more exciting.
  11. if you're new to the server, budget is likely a constraint, right? def look into Fourspeed's thread (linked in this thread, which is my super cheap farm build)
  12. "put your money where your mouth is" is a friendly phrase in your area? seemed the intent was otherwise, given 3/4 indisputable suggestions were ignored, replies are all abrupt, & i got zero indication the input was welcomed (like a simple smiley or written gesture) but maybe not... before i post thought it'd be good to look it up, & apparently the phrase can go either way; a rude derogatory gesture indicating that their speech is Nonsense or you can Invite and Inspire healthy competition for someone to proove and/or Instill their self-worth ...i've never in my life encountered it as anything other than the 1st, and even the 2nd indicates a challenge via "prove", but point taken & somethin new learned, thx. ;D if the 2nd was your intent, @Hyperstrike, then my apologies.
  13. *will not ...choice, admittedly motivated by your written tone/demeanor. interesting that my word would be in question after the 3 simple changes check-out, i'm not making any wild claims, & there's zero precedent of me crappin on peeps' efforts around here (didn't even have any negativity towards you or your build in my original post). my MO has always been to help by typing out ideas for others to take to completion themselves, because that's how learning works, imo. so who is this all about?
  14. 3 out of 4 tips already proven say i'm not (*mic tap* hello?). as for the 4th, what's in it for me to bother proving that now, after your nasty lil retorts? unfortunately for you, my ego doesn't require that i prove anything to anyone, so what else would motivate me? you didn't respond well to genuine helpfulness in the form of horse-to-water, so my usual motivation is pretty well burnt there.
  15. some mechanical issues & End drawbacks aside... as with the Corr thread, credit due for creativity Darkir. keep things interesting ;D
  16. ...holy defensiveness, EGOman! lol, i do believe you came into a discussion about "most badass" & dropped off a build like 'HERE IT IS. end of discussion' ...which obviously i'm interested to see & hopefully learn somethin from. you do happen to have your own HEAVILY viewed thread on Inv, & i see many peeps thank you & lay praise, so hopes were high. curious where this hostility is comin from, as my suggestions/post were entirely focused on helpin you... but maybe i should have seen it coming, due to the aforementioned mic-drop style of your post? whatever the case... #2 & 3 of my suggestions are spelled out plainly enough to be obvious win/wins (nothin lost). #4 was nearly the same, but a pool change that could utilize the same sets (again, no losses, all gains), and just a nice option (Meld) that becomes avail (a more "badass" power, imo, than SJ). #1 was absolutely more complex/involved, but i figured gently leading into the idea of changes (and why/where to pull from; the SL overshoot) was a more respectable way to approach than treating you like you'll not understand the moves on your own. if there's overshoot, there's a way to better distribute the resources -but you now this by now. i'll take responsibility for this assumption & my less-than-100%-walkthrough of these changes, so, 3/4 proven. how bout no? how bout you take your ego down a notch (or 10), and appreciate when someone takes the time to politely help your build be better... maybe even say thanks... you know, the way some peeps have given you for your Inv thread - bit of respect & appreciation - a two-way street, imo. and WHY IN THE WORLD would i do it after the way you've responded to me here (the short retorts & phrasing are clear in the 2nd)? but hey, it's not all bad. you still get 3 of 4 improvements to your build, w/o any losses. you're welcome.
  17. Post a build with the changes you suggest. We can then directly compare them. eh? ...you want me to do all the work for ya? despite already taking a look, identifying freebie opportunities, & offering steps for further optimization? i mean, if you were a newer player i could see it, just to help visually ...but you know the lingo/program/etc... don't think ya need your hand held, mate.
  18. slightly beyond the topic, but might be helpful?... look into Soulbound BU proc to buff PA's beyond enh values, utilize -Res powers/procs to further increase their dmg output (P.Ray & Tarantula from Mace pool do double duty, for example). PA's ice attacks do -Res themselves too, which becomes noticeable solo vs EBs/AVs/GMs.
  19. lol -mine (FM/SD) doesn't even have a slotted attack till L24... because, honestly, why? both sets are late bloomers. same reason i built it for icap Def, high E/N Res, & +Rech... below L30 it's a dog, but late-game incarnate/L50+ the fire dmg starts to shine (well, more-so) vs S/L resistant foes that other sets start to slow down against (go Blaze to further this). it was fun to play tho, despite the drawbacks. build is from 2014-ish, and i never bothered to rebuild it on these servers, but i'll post it if you want. Bill is spot-on with what FM's issue is, animation time vs dmg could use a rebalance pass.
  20. a light amount of slot/enh shuffling can use your ~23% SL Res wasted overshoot to improve ENFC Res, the End ratio, D.Pain uptime, +HP, and add a P.Transfer heal proc (mule auto R.P.Dam, T.Coat in R.Elements/Energies, try S.Wall in Def toggles, drop 6th from Hem, etc). in Shred & S.Leap, +4% free Acc from 2 Enh changes (still 3/3 of same sets). if you move C.Jump's 2nd slot to T.Hide +5 standard IO, it's a small net increase for free. also consider Soul for your ranged ST & hold (higher DPAs?), which opens up Meld for oh-noes moments & added DDR/Alpha buffer. makes a good LotG mule too, when it's not a power you have to lean-on (like a Regen would). could be other stuff i'm not seeing yet from a glance, but those are mostly free increases w/o losing anything at all. ;D
  21. ^ a good reason to pop RT (esp with -Res proc) before proc'd-out GZ, then Momentum (in my case)/BU/Focus/etc, then your AoEs/TAoEs if all bosses...ST's if EB/AV (Minions/LTs will already be dead). easily becomes my 2nd hardest-hitting attack, even adjusted for animation time with Momentum up, if i or my team have folded multiple mobs onto each-other (which is typical) to hit 30 within the large radius. full team attacking one mob?...then no, it's wasted. +Rech is absolutely key. 28sec recharge w/o Ageless, 23sec with, before team buffs. not even slotted for Rech, just procs in it. i didn't chase +Rech above all other bonuses, so those numbers could easily be lower if the build really went all-out for it. thing slaps, if you can make the best of it in slotting/build/playstyle. if not, then i can see why it'd appear lackluster.
  22. +Def is absolutely better than +Res for a blaster, due to HP & Res caps as you noted... but... +Def powers/bonuses/uniques/etc are far more plentiful than +Res (considering effective caps being more achievable too, naturally lowering target values). you even elude to it here: it's prioritization. another way to look at it... if you take Scorp, you'll never reach the same standing/idle Res levels through powers/bonuses/uniques/etc as you will with Mu. if you take Mu, you absolutely can still reach the same standing/idle Def levels (softcap is softcap, icap is another story) through powers/bonuses/uniques/etc as you did with Scorp. it's not that Mu's Res is "better" than Scorp's Def, it's that Def is easier to build for than Res ...and so by making the best use of availability, you end-up with a more durable & well-rounded Blaster. much in the same way we make proc-bomb Defenders, or take melee primaries for +Def on Res-based Scraps/Brutes/Tanks, or attempt to add AoE to Stalkers... filling the holes by way of prioritizing powers/bonuses/uniques/etc. :)
