  1. Did you try this? It's what I used, and I can import the builds:
  2. Copy the data block (all the lines starting and ending with a pipe character, "|"). Then, in Mid's, go to "Import and Export/Import from forum post". A dialog will pop up saying to copy all the data (which you just did in the first sentence). Click okay. When I follow that procedure, the build loads for me. Good luck!
  3. Against +4 mobs, our base chance to hit is only 39%, a lot lower than the 75% to-hit chance for even-level mobs. You can see this in Mid's if you go to "Options/Configuration" and choose the "Exemping and Base Values" tab. Then change the "base to-hit" number from 75 to 39. Now in the main display, all your attack powers will show their to-hit values for +4 enemies. You want all those numbers to be 95% or greater, if you can. If you find they're lower, you can slot more accuracy, use Kismet +6% accuracy (actually to-hit) defense enhancement, and/or targeting powers like Tactics or Targeting Drone. Be sure than no "build up" temporary to-hit boosts are toggled on, since that will distort the numbers. Good luck.
  4. So many things to try! I solo'd several AVs in the Freedom Phalanx task forces with a Mace/Elec scrapper who was less than 40th level. I got stuck on Citadel's AV, but now that my scrapper is 50, I'll give it another go. Soon. I got my Ill/Radd experiment to nurture, too. 🙂
  5. Here's the build I'm starting with. There are a fair number of differences from the previous one I posted, but ideas in this thread and reading Local Man's guide to Ill/Rad controllers made me want to try a few things out, like Ice Mastery. I know I'll end up respec'ing soon enough; still, I figure there are some decisions I can't make without trying things out in the field. I did take Green Dreamer out for a spin with her new build at a mild +1/x4, Turns out I need a little practice. But I killed all the monsters, I didn't die, and I ran out of endurance only once.🙂 I'll report back with the results of this experiment and new questions on what I might try next.
  6. Thank you for the response and the build, Hjarki! I love how active your build it... your controller is getting in there and mixing it up with the cross punch and the mace powers! I also find it clever how you use both Tactics and Focused Accuracy, so that you can skip accuracy slotting and have more room for procs. It's a really interesting build. I might have to try out two builds and compare. I'm curious what you think might be the best monster killer, if not currently /Rad. I was looking at /Time, but /Rad has much more -regen built in.
  7. Awesome advice, thank you. I will do all those things and post a revision soon. Thanks again!
  8. Hi, I've rolled the classic AV-killer, an Ill/Rad controller named "Green Dreamer." She is out hunting Skulls and dreaming of the upcoming epic battles, and I am working on an end-game build for her. I found a build online and used it as a base to make the one below, but I don't have enough controller experience to know how great the original build was, or how it has weathered the extreme surgery I've performed on it. I seek a few experienced troller players to weigh in. I'd like to get your overall thoughts on the build, plus I have a few specific questions. Leadership - needed? I'm thinking Tactics will help the pets hit, and hitting more does more damage. Also, I'm thinking Maneuvers will help the Phantasm live (the PA and Terror don't care). But maybe they do fine without these buffs. What's your experience? Spectral Wounds - needed? On one hand, it seems insane to go without a key piece of direct damage. On the other hand, direct damage is the pets' job and SW might just draw unwanted attention. I imagine that my troller will spend almost all of her time (when not renewing buffs) layering "Hold" onto hard targets, especially an AV. Is this true? Defense - the build I found had almost no defense. The author even mentioned not worrying about it... that's what pets are for. I sniffed at this and built enough ranged defense that a small luck will take Green Dreamer to soft cap. I'm not sure that's the right thing to do. What do you think? Survivability - aside from ranged defense and the smashing/lethal resistance, every other survivability stat sucks. I suppose this is just a drawback of being a controller, but do you mititgate this lack of survivability in any way? Build regen? Work more on the defenses? Hit points? Or just try to stay out of the way? Thanks in advance for any insight you have! 9. Hi FourSpeed, I deleted my post as, on reflection, I think it didn't follow the spirit of your guide, which is an excellent adjunct to Warlawk's thread. Sorry about that! Thanks again for your guide, best of luck to you, and look for Max Hazard, Pyrohawk, or Fuchsia Flame in the City (Excelsior) and say hi! Cheers! - Robopop P.S. I do love the "crunch" of a good Cross Punch, and have tried it out and kept it on some of my builids. So, especially thanks for that.
  10. [deleted by author - sorry, was off topic]
  11. The behavior you describe above is accurate, I found, for toggle powers. For click powers, it appears only one can be activated per keypress, except - as you point out - if one is set to auto. https://web.archive.org/web/20120508050831/http://www.barbariankeep.com/bs/bindguide.html
  12. Thank you, I'll dig a bit more, then. I thought I read about someone who put their whole attack chain on a macro. I'll try to find that post again.
  13. If I press the button while Burn is on cooldown, I get the disappointed "woop" noise of something on cooldown. Pressing the button after Burn is recharged, Burn fires again. So the macro is not considering Healing Flames at all.
  14. Hi, I've read a few guides and references on macros, and I think this should work for firing off two powers: /macro foo powexec_name Healing Flames$$powexec_name Burn The command creates the macro button in my tray, but when I click the button, only the Burn fires. I have tried putting quotations in a variety of places, but they either did not work or caused the macro to error. I thought the spaces in "Healing Flames" might be an issue, but "/macro foo powexecname Healing Flames" works fine. Anybody know what I'm doing wrong here? Thanks.
  15. I don't have Burn on auto, and currently it's slotted with Superior Avalanche (which has a proc that eventually knocks mobs back). Maybe just fixing that improves my clears. But I think the perma-haste and close to perma-Momentum is going to help, too.
