  1. Meh. I built mine to softcap defenses with decent resists, and basically sit in melee with everyone else for those sweet sweet buffs. I tanked the last two TFs I ran. Synapse at 24 was well before soft capped defenses but the time/ defender took care of that. honestly, there is no need to be purely ranged once setted out unless youre only building ranged defense. I built S/L/F/C/E/N and its a noticeable increase in survival vs just ranged defense. Ranged at that point just becomes a way to defeat stuff that happens to not be in melee range.
  2. I mean, maybe I'm totally wrong but I was under the impression that Fire was the uncontested king of blaster primaries. Fire/Temp is what I run, fully IO setted and everything, full incarnates... it is undeniably my strongest ranged. Elec/Energy is a good combo if you want to use electrical primary.
  3. Probably something like this. I slot Aging Touch so it has a complete attack chain at all levels, but at 50 it is not used as much when flares does the job just fine for ranged.   5. It's possible to get high defense and some resists, which is what I shoot for on my fire/temp. Stats for a fully IO setted out bells n whistles blaster with clarion and musculature + accolades (regen is low but has an absorb shield):

  7. After playing a DM/Regen scrapper main on live for years and maining a blaster here, I finally bit the bullet and made a tanker since the changes have made them appealing to me. Went with Rad/DM since rad has two powers that can be made into min-nukes. Caveats: I hate cones usually. Exception is Shadow Maul - I love it for some reason and let me just say, the changes to it have made it BEASTLY. I frequently hit 5-8 targets and its by far my best attack due to that. I also wanted great single target, utility such as healing from primary, and to be tough as nails while putting out great AoE for getting threat. I wanted perma Hasten to run my attack chain smoothly but with some wiggle room for repositioning Shadow Maul. (less than half a second gap). I also need Flight, it's just my thing to have full 3D movement. I went lite on the defense slotting too since it seems to be thrown everywhere on teams far more than resistance buffs or even healing. It has 7 AoEs and makes an attack chain for single target as Shadow Maul>Smite>Siphon Life>repeat. Shadow Maul is amazing now even on a single target due to lower cast time and higher recharge (procs) - even hitting one extra target makes it the best attack of the set. AoE chain is Soul Drain>Radiation Therapy>Electrifying Fences>Ball Lighting>Dark Consumption>Ground Zero>Shadow Maul. Most minions die halfway through, Lts follow before the end, bosses have barely anything left and have resists debuffed. Rad fills the hole of DMs lack of AoEs superbly well. It feels almost like a blaster - ya know, with capped resists to all but Cold/Psi (which get into the 70s with some work) and then 30% melee defense and 20% defense to all else. Add support and this thing is just immortal while pumping out crazy good AoE. The lack of taunt has so far not been too problematic. I was rocking Energy Manipulator: Chance to Stun in Rad Therapy, Dark Consumption, and Elec Fences but it was overkill and I didnt really need the mez, it was just neat to have 3 AoEs with stuns attached for a controller feel; it still has hold/immobilize/knockdown in its AoE chain for extra mitigation. Incarnates are mainly personal preference really as none are needed to fill any gaps except if I wanted more personal defense then Barrier destiny would be wanted. I go with Ageless for the defense debuff resistance. This guy laughs at end drain and is sustainable on end by the time Particle Shielding is acquired. It also exemplars incredibly well thanks to early ST attack chain with most set bonuses activating by lvl 22. The build is expensive - close to 800 mil to a bil because while it has no winter sets, it does have 3 epic sets on top of all the uniques and smattering of PvP IOs. You can save around half a bil inf just by swapping Hecatomb for Crushing Impact, Armageddon for Obliteration, and Ragnarok for Positrons Blast. Those epic sets are beefy though - they allow for 20% more accuracy and 13.75% more recharge at all levels of exemplaring, which the build doesnt NEED, but is critical for Hasten/Soul Drain uptime. Also drop the uneeded s/l resist on cheap sets for a whopping 15.75% resist to fire/cold on the epic sets, and while the fire resist is superfluous, that cold resist plugs a giant hole. Tell me what ya think, any suggestions I'm open to. I didnt push defense too hard as solo this is already plenty and I wanted to leave a bit of room for outside buffs to still benefit me while getting great regen/healing, amazing resists, a 1k absorb barrier on a 30 sec cd, and endless endurance.   8. My post right above yours at the bottom includes a cheaper +ranged def version of the build that hover blasts. Not sure if anyone else has a super high recharge version but would like to see one without too much compromise on defense.
  9. This is main build I've been tweaking lately. Goals were to get defenses softcapped, maintain strong slotting percentages in all relevant powers, get decent recharge (Chronos on CD is essentially 10% more global recharge), have no cones or rains, have only one melee attack, and have fast attacks to remain mobile with complete 3d movement. It truly is a masterpiece in my eyes. It exemplars very well with a great attack chain at every level since I'm willing to blap and 2 of my 3 AoEs are PBAoE- has great defenses early on that get better with leveling. By 50 it caps tons of defenses, decent resists, decent recharge, doesn't rely on procs (which may be nerfed at some point). It feels incredibly sturdy, often taking alphas for TFs on trash, and soloing 3x8 without a problem. Aging Touch makes a great power replacement for Flares once Blaze and Blazing Touch are aquired. End of Time is a very functional replacement for Breath of Fire as a 2nd AoE that is far easier to position. Time Shift is a mule mostly but makes a decent oh shit button. It gets Musculature and Assault Hybrid too. If anyone has any recommendations I'd gladly take a look at any possible improvements the build could make! (The empty slots are for the Energy Transfer heal procs coming out next patch for extra sustain to stack with the absorb/defense/resist.)   10. This is what I've been using. Works well with Titan Sweep as your opener. Doesnt rely on permahaste or any clickies really. Also isnt the most optimal, but gets the job done on cruise control.   11. Kheldians suck the fun out of the team, at least most of the ones I’ve played with. I mained a PB for years on live. Would love to see some QOL changes for them such as beefed up inherent and turning KB to KD in their aoes. Right now whenever I get one on the team I give it one mission. If they scatter mobs indiscriminately I leave. I’ve teamed with ONE kheldian since homecoming that didn’t have their obnoxious constant scattering worse than a damn energy blaster. that should be addressed but sadly too many are opposed so it’s just gonna stay the same. yall want Kheldians to get some love. Otherwise many players are going to either not invite them or their teams will just dissolve once the mission ends cause no one wants to explain to the nublet how to play their AT. epic ATs are supposed to be force multipliers - most the hero ones I’ve played with we’re force dividers - making the entire team less efficient. address that and maybe their stigma will change.
  12. Or you can run Heather Townsend’s arc for 120 merits per hour. this arc is too good: takes 10 minutes, can be used for incarnate salvage to get t4 incarnates fast, then after can be run for two empyreal merits per run, which you then trade for 20 reward merits. It’s a cakewalk too.
  13. I’m totally in love with my titan/wp scrapper. Got a billion+ influence build and it is simply beast mode on steroids. The AoE and single target are unmatched by any other melee set, and WPs hands off approach allows me to focus on attacks without losing momentum to survival clickies. Only clickies are buildup, conserve power, and incarnates. My heals are inspirations. I’ll post a build when I get home later. I find it doesn’t need hasten with the way I’ve slotted it due to needing to build momentum every 5 seconds which adds a second to animation time every rotation. Having the ATO crit proc go off then using arc of destruction to hit 5 targets and just erasing them is so satisfying.   14. Heather Townsend’s first DA arc can be done in 10 minutes and Mets two empyreal merits which can be converted to 20 reward merits. 120 an hour. Break it up win Tinpex, Hami raids, etc. but for solo nothing beats 2 merits per minute IME. can also be used to get your incarnates to t4 pretty quickly by selecting random incarnate salvage instead of empyreal merit. My first 50 was all t4 in a couple days of doing it am hour here and there.l combined with the trials.

I'm sure improvements could be made; I made this one with the idea of being able to exemplar well. Brawl and Aging Touch are set mules but work excellently for exemplaring.
