  1. I played City of Heroes starting with Issue 4 in 2004 until it shut down in 2012 and only came back to the game this year. It's as great a game as ever. There are too many terrific memories to figure out which is the best, so I'll just pick a recent vivid one. In April, I created a mastermind named Epic Climax, whose bio is being a former porn star whose pets were her co-stars who all had (imo) hilarious porn star names. I had just entered Atlas Park at level 1 for literally 1 minute when a level 50 read my bio and enjoyed it so much he sent me a tell and offered to power level me so I could have all my pets as soon as possible. I'm not really into power-leveling and prefer to level through actual game play. My only real exception to this are masterminds, who are just very weak early on. About an hour later, I was level 32 with my tier 1 pet and my highest primary power. I was very touched by this gesture. This speaks to the power of a good bio, to wonderful moments of serendipity in the game, and the benevolence of this great player base. I try to pay it forward by helping others similarly.
  2. Thanks so much for this information and the link!
  3. Yes. It's really annoying that the power set gives more protection to allies than yourself. Yes, personal force field is awesome if a team is otherwise wiping, but you can't do anything while it's on. So aside from that, you yourself always have less defense than your allies even though it's your power set.
  4. How does demoplay work now? Do we use homecoming.exe with it now that it has replaced score.exe? Homecoming.exe -demoplay doesn't work for me nor does homecoming.exe -patchdir homecoming -demoplay. What am I doing wrong?
  5. Now that base beacons can take everyone to most zones and Mission Teleport can be purchased for 1 million influence and Team Transport for 10 million, Long Range Teleport is near useless with its limited zone options and long cast time. It should be improved to include nearly every non-Echo zone including Firebase Zulu and have a 3 second cast time, and if a mission is selected, it gives you the option to teleport you to the mission entrance and if the mission is to talk to a contact, it gives you the option to teleport to the contact (making task forces even faster). That would be worth a power slot and the two previous slots required to unlock the power.
  6. That makes sense. Thanks, Coyote.
  7. Is there a reason slotting Dark Servant with 6 damage procs is not a good idea since I didn't see that on any builds here? It can take Cloud Senses, Ghost Widow, Gladiator's Net, Neuronic Shutdown, Touch of the Nictus, and Trap of the Hunter.
  8. You're talking about min/maxed characters. There are plenty of players who have RPG concept builds or casual players who don't have IO sets memorized or even use them and new players who don't have billions in influence to buy the best everything. These players can't rush into just any mob and do well. I've been on teams that can wipe out anything in seconds and I've been on teams that get wiped repeatedly. That kind of variety shows the game is working. Yes, the super dedicated player who has binds for everything and the fanciest bases is going to romp, but you have to have room for the newbies who don't have any of that too.
