  1. All right, here's an entry which is open, I'll have to put in some text for people to send comments, but here it is. The Starship Wonderment. Shard: Everlasting Address: KLAATU-14298 Global name to send comments: @El Miercoles It's constantly a work in progress, the outside isn't all that well detailed currently, as I hadn't yet realized the possibility of creating rooms outside of it to place external features until I was already busy with other projects. Parts of the interior are subject to continual revision, and most of the crew quarters are largely unfurnished, I tend to only fill them when someone is using one. The entry point is in a transporter room that I finished before smaller letters were available, and so the portals are grouped by a color code that probably means little to anyone who isn't me.

So, running fast isn't a character archetype by itself. You'll need to figure out what kind of things you want to specialize in. It could be hitting people in hand to hand, or throwing lightning at a distance. Once you've figured out what your character is going to look like when fighting, you can start going through the process. You can get a speed power like Athletic Run from the P2W vendor even when just starting out, that will give you fast movement at low levels. You'll probably want to add the appropriate pool when you get a bit of experience, but you won't have to start off moving like a snail. Then just figure out the best playstyle to make speed work for you. People here can help with more details once you have more ideas on what you want to do.
  3. Or triggering a supernova, but I haven't figured out the build to do that.
  4. So how do I make this happen on a Sentinel? None of my attacks are even close to that.
  5. I got a prize in a costume contest before, not the top prize, but one of the smaller ones. With this expertly designed costume.
  6. Are visible foreheads too much in the redesigned costumes?
  7. Maybe every profile should be changed to only read "Shove it up your nose." and then we all play as if we were in a single player game. That would certainly solve the problem.
  8. There's one way to make sure it doesn't, and that's single player. Which means it wouldn't be an MMORPG any more.
  9. This is the most revealing outfit I have left on a character, and I'm going to switch it next.
  10. I'm in the process of redesigning costumes for full armor with helmets.
  11. One of my oddities is known by the name El Miercoles. El Miercoles is a former professional wrestler who suffered a brain injury that's left him convinced that he really is the character he portrayed in the shows. He's listed as Natural origin, but he can outrun cars and jump from rooftop to rooftop, simply because he believes he can. So is he magical, or something else?
  12. All right, I've deleted the only character in the group, the one I was using to edit the base. That should solve the problem since the base no longer exists.
  13. Well, I tried moving the portal from the starting room on a base I was working on, and it resisted moving past a certain point and left glitched duplicates behind. Leaving it empty to reset didn't work, a GM tried kicking it and that did nothing. So I guess I have to abandon that project, and probably most other ones.
  14. And it's KLAATU-14298 if you didn't see the edit.
  15. Incorrect button press cost me my edit before I was finished, so I had to start over. But this one will get the prize for the worst base ever created.
  16. Character name: Cerebral Vixen Global: @El Miercoles SG League of Researchers Shard: Everlasting Passcode: KLAATU-14298 Builder: Cerebral Vixen (I'm assuming alts don't count)
  17. For what it's worth, I'm able to play the game tolerably on a Dell OptiPlex 3020. I'm planning on getting something far more powerful soon, but the fact that the 3020 works is a good sign for budget builders.
  18. So there was a time once when my grocery receipt informed me that I'd purchased LOL BUTTER. I thought that was humorous enough but today I got something that could be a character name in some sort of game like this one. BLUBRY CHRIOS. I'm also reminded of the time a store had posted a sign for a sale on Vodak, which could also be interesting. Are there any similar examples circulating around out there?
  19. Okay, I tried another type of wall, this one with 45 degree angles in the corners instead of 90 degrees. Even with the grid off, it's impossible to line the pieces up next to each other. Why bother to include rotation if you can't line anything up?
  20. All right, I've determined after considerable trial and error that building a wall in a half circle is not possible. First, I can only use the preset angle rotations if I want to avoid object spinning on the wrong axis. This forces a distortion in the shape of the wall. That part would be tolerable, if it weren't for the second problem. I place a section carefully, lining up the edges precisely and giving a slight overlap to prevent gaps. Then I move on to the next piece and do the same. Four or five sections later, I look back to see gigantic gaps. I wish I'd known before I started that this sort of structure isn't allowed.
  21. To give a little more detail on what's happening here, the object will spin on an incorrect axis with the first movement (such as in the ctrl-alt direction while I'm holding shift-alt) and then spin on the correct axis with subsequent movements. Sometimes it makes a difference if I move the object to a different location before making the adjustment, sometimes it doesn't help. Any clues would be appreciated.
  22. I'm trying to rotate pieces to make a curved wall, first by rotating 90 degrees to make a horizontal surface into a vertical surface, and then rotating in multiples of 4.5 degrees to make the progressively curved wall. The problem is that when making the shifts for the curve, some of the pieces keep rotating on an unexpected axis making it impossible to set the item the way I want it. Is this a known bug or is it only me?
  23. I have a level 46 Kinetic/Psychic Blast Defender who is instantly sent to the hospital from any attack. I ended up with about 20 hospital trips on the Imperious task force.
  24. I was working on a multilevel spaceship, with floors both above and below the main section. I set up the basic structure for those parts first, then started on the middle. Unfortunately, all the things above and below prevented selecting the interior sections and I had to throw out everything. I'd been working on this for several weeks, so now I'll just have to use a minimalist design. Keep the total items in the base below eight.
  25. I'd just spent several weeks working on a base that was going to be a large spaceship. After building extensive rooms above and below the main base, I started trying to set up the interior only to find out it was no longer possible to select room sections. I had to delete the whole thing and just go to a large empty room, without a single interior item. I wish I'd known that before I started.
