  1. I kind of agree. I would like it best if everyone could be rewarded, or as I suggested earlier, reward everyone who crosses a certain threshold... but baring that, it seems counterproductive to reward the same handful of folders again and again and again, while everyone else has the same chance of getting rewarded randomly whether they did 5 work units or 200.
  2. Right now it's sitting in a box with no OS at all, lol. I guess what I'm really curious about is if linux boxes are assigned more work. Right now my systems sit idle most of the time because "No WUs available for this configuration".
  3. Dang, 12 graphics cards. I just have a Vega 56 and and 1060m. Does folding work better on Linux? I was thinking of turning my old i5/amd 7870 into a linux box to run folding on but wasn't sure if the juice would be worth the squeeze.
  4. Well... unless you are folding with a Ryzen 3950x/2800ti graphics card system or 2, I don't think you would have caught them even if you started a week ago. I started 3 days late, but couldn't do half of what the number 10 guy did, even with 2 mid range systems folding 24/7. Edit.... Never mind... I see where you ended up. If you did that in 2 days, you will easily be number 1 next month... Just how many systems are you folding on? lol
  5. I thought that might be a limiting factor. Unfortunately I have no idea how such a process could be automated.
  6. It's great that they are giving everyone who does any contribution at all a chance for reward merits. but I think it would be pretty cool (and encourage maximum participation) if they gave a straight merit reward to everyone who crossed a certain threshold (outside of the top 10), like 200 merits if you do 100 WU in a month, or if you reach 2 million points... something like that. Maybe starting from month 2, so they could determine what a reasonable threshold is. Just my humble opinion.
  7. Since Folding@home's servers seem to be at peek capacity... any interest in a Rosetta@home team? Looks like it is also fighting coronovirus.
  8. What "power" level are you set at? I seem to get more work at medium then high for some reason. Could just be coincidence though.
  9. Are you using Chrome? If so try using a different browser. Mine did the constant refresh when using Chrome, but works fine on Edge.
  10. I'm new to folding so I have some questions.... A lot of the time my system seems to be sitting idle with no work, and at other times it seems to be give work I don't get any credit for... I'll see a note in the application log that says something like FS01:Final credit estimate, 71156.00 points, but actual points awarded are zero. I'm also curious when the stats at https://stats.foldingathome.org/team/243287 update? I currently have 49,143 points worth of work I actually received credit for but don't seem to show up in the rankings at all. Edit: It's also a little disappointing that I have earned less then 50K points in 15 hours when the program was estimating I could generate a million points in a day.
  11. Regeneration to me, is eclipsed by the Willpower set which has similar sustainable regeneration and MUCH better DR and def then regen does... sure when instant healing is running regeneration has more regeneration then willpower set does, but you cant keep it up all the time, so regen as a whole just seems lackluster by comparison.
  12. In old CoH Scrappers were my favorite. They were the ultimate solo toon. The tankers low damage output made playing a Tanker too sloooow unless you were playing with a group. Brutes and Stalkers didn't exist yet, and then for a long time after they did exist, they were purely on the villain side. Now Brutes and Stalkers can be on either side and we even have Sentinels... Brutes seem to have better damage output then Scrappers once their fury gets going, and their resistance caps are higher... Stalkers have the same resistance caps, and seem to be able to crit more reliably... plus they have stealth and better AOE defense than Scrappers. Sentinels have essentially the same defensive capabilities as the Scrapper, but can do their damage at range... Hard to see where the scrapper fits in.
