Dr Q when it's the weekly, on a team that each has all the TPs.

And when we combine these . . .  when Dr. Q is the weekly, I will occasionally log in my three accounts (my girlfriend might log in 1 or 2 as well), and then I solo it.

It's a multi-hour slog due to the team size, but my 3 accounts will get 732 merits combined.  Even if it took me 4 hours, that's better than 1 merit per minute for each account.

Of course, that TF is only up one week each quarter.

When looking at a power and what procs to include, whats better dam. or -res.

Offhand, I would say there are two main factors to consider: Are you alone and what are you fighting?

If you're on a team, -res benefits everyone on the team so that would be preferable.

If you're fighting 'hard' targets like AV's (or EB's, GM's), having the -res might work better than the extra damage.  Maybe.  There's a lot of variables.

Most of the time, you're going to kill things fast enough that the -res is probably sub-optimal.

So, in a few situations, the answer is clear.  If it's a tank that you only use for teaming, go -res.  If it's a corr that you only solo, go +damage.

Also remember, there's no such thing as too much overkill.  Go big or go home.  I did a concept build named Toggle Man (based on the prose linked in my signature).  He has exactly two click attacks: Lunge and Boxing.  All the rest of his damage comes from auras (he's spines/dark armor scrapper).  His auras are larded up with damage procs and the build is shockingly good against crowds of enemies.

I want to say that once you have done a weekly repeat of any SSA, the clock has started for repeats of the other SSA, but not for the first time rewards of those SSA.

    Right.

Each character gets one free run of every single arc (there are 12 total) with no timer involved.

I ran through every single one consecutively on my badger for 240 merits.  I then ran one more for 20 merits, which starts the timer for any arc on that character since he had no 'free runs' remaining.

Now, in Ouro, completing most of those arcs in 30:00, 1:00 and 2:00 (2 hours, not 2 minutes) will get you a badge for each time limit met. But outside of Ouro - nope.

And don't get tripped up by that "most".  A good rule of thumb is that, if a mission or arc already awards a badge for completing it, it probably doesn't count for the 'optional' badges like no deaths, 30 minute timer, no travel powers, etc.

I'd honestly be in favor of the zone having a lvl 35 requirement like cimerora.

Actually, I remember that being changed and I just took a level 10 character into Cimerora to be sure.

You gain access to them by completing the entire story arc or just its final mission.

Both will often be seen in LFG.

You can earn badges by completing the entire story arc or the arc's final mission.

    https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Villain_Accolade_Badges

*NOTE: All Patron badges may now be earned by a single character. However, only one patron contact may be chosen per character.

meaning only ONE patron pool may be selected.

This is 100% correct, but leaves out one important fact.

Doing a patron arc and receiving the badge for it unlocks *ALL* the patron pools.  You can only pick one, but you can pick ANY one pool, regardless of which contact you spoke with.  Most people think Black Scorpion's arc is the easiest so they will do that one no matter which pool they intend to use.

We can't do homages to copyrighted characters ... but what about doing homages to CoH characters?

Yes to copyrighted characters and yes to CoH characters also.

Homages are not copies.  They are inspired by the character.

Yeah, I was playing my empathy defender and on every other spawn, the blaster was yelling about how he needed endurance.

Whatever, pal.  I have ONE power that boosts END and it has a long recharge.  The problem is that your build sucks.

To be fair people who pick empathy generally play other mmos where heals are kind of king.

Eh, one of my earliest characters back on live was empathy/dark and CoH was my first MMO.

I've also done a fire/emp corr.  Empathy is a good set if you actually understand this game and that being a "pure healer" is stupid.

How do u make 30 million anyway?

Is this a general question on how to get influence (money) in the game?

The simplest, and inevitable way, is to play a level 50 character.  Your influence earning is proportional to your level.

The fastest way, which many find to be tedious and boring, is working the market (auction house).  You're sitting there working the market interface instead of playing.

In between, is farming.  This is where you build a character to be highly survivable and do good damage in very specific conditions - then play them in those conditions repeatedly.  For example, you might do radio missions against only one type of enemy.  Or, at the extreme, you use the Mission Architect system and play one specific mission over and over.  Plenty of people find this boring, but some enjoy it since you're actually hitting enemies.

Folks make mistakes all the time, forget what alignment they are, forget they are in an AE mission, never quit the TF team they finished 10 mins ago, or need a badge for an alt. Nobody is perfect, I have done all of these things multiple times.

And let's not forget the classic:  "I'm standing right next to the contact; where are you?"  "Um.....  which shard are you on?"  "Oh......"

When I get a tell that someone is switching characters, I right-click to get global name. Gotta be fast sometimes!

Yep.  This is what I do.  They're also generally attentive to this issue and lead off with a tell, "Hey, I'm back.  I was <previous character>"

Read the thread linked at the end of that email. If you got that email, you have an account on the "Closed Beta" server.

Yeah, well, it tells me I have to log in to read the thread and I have no idea what the 'Closed Beta' server is.  Did it used to have another name?

I use a password manager RELIGIOUSLY and I can guarantee I have no account on any system named 'Closed Beta'.  I still have my passwords from the original CoH because I just move defunct passwords to the 'Old' folder.

This would make sense if this was 2004 and the player base had only a couple of months under their collective playing experience, but this is 20 years later.

I run multiple task forces every week and I think you're seriously underestimating how many new players are around.  Also, returning players that haven't touch the game since around 2010 and just found out that it's back.

Having said that, I also recognize that my experience may be skewed by the fact that I only lead task forces and basically never lead teams for random arcs, radio missions, etc.  Players who sign on for a task force are probably more focused and experienced than the average PUG member.

I'm sure that you would love  to level your controller, but filling up a team with them will level you very slowly. The very most controllers you want on a team is two, but preferably just one that is experienced with the game.

This is really a situational thing.  A team of 8 controllers would be extremely powerful and get through enemies quickly - AFTER they get their pets.  By then, they'll have a good array of powers, probably some IO's and, as noted, their pets which are their main source of damage.

But you're talking about Frostfire which, as I recall, is in the 12-15 range?  So if people are actually in that range, it's pretty rough no matter what AT's you have.  For this reason, I would never turn up the difficulty.  I do Positron and Synapse at base difficulty.  I only go to +1 once we reach the Penny Yin TF which is 20-25.  By the time you're ready for the ITF, sure, plenty of teams can handle +4.  But Frostfire?  Ouch.

I actually worked with a guy from Newcastle many years back and upon finding out where he was from I said to him, "Hey!  I like Newcastle Brown Ale!" and he said, "Are you kidding?  Only the college kids drink that crap!"

That's always how it is.  Like when all the yuppies were drinking Jagermeister to be cool - meanwhile, in Europe, only drunkards were drinking it.
