And I don't care how tightly you clench your sphincter, it's still a non-issue.  Disney/Marvel/DC/WB/HBO or any other IP holder for that matter can come after this or any other game at any time for all sorts of things, yet they don't.  If they all cared so much and wanted to so "vigorously defend their property", they'd all have legions of lawyers handing out cease and desist letters to every cosplayer walking into a con somewhere and handing out lawsuits like candy to every single game offering a free skin of Batman or Superman or Spider-Man or whomever.  They don't do it.  They've got better things to do with their time than to worry about a dinky rouge server running a stolen copy of a 20 year old game.

If you want to worry yourself over it, more power to you.  Feel free.  If you're one of the aholes standing in Atlas reporting new characters as they zone in because you don't find them "original enough" for your liking, go for it.  Hope you enjoy driving more people away.

So much for keeping it civil 🙄

  2. I agree.  Actually, it was found that Agents of Marvel created the characters, then tried to sue over them.  I think their point was duplicates COULD be created.  The court's verdict was something like "Yeah, And...?"

Anyway, thanks for keeping it civil (I fail at that sometimes).

Once again the most inane and irrelevant garners the greatest attention.

It's all fun and games until Disney sends their Pitbull lawyers to shut the game down for something that is completely avoidable - with the slight price of someone getting their butt hurt/genericized.

It's not like it was on Live, when NCSoft was making money and Marvel sued them for copyright infringement.  Ain't nobody making money on this now, so that isn't a factor.  It also doesn't take much evacuate the City.  Just one person/company to bring a lawsuit up would probably do it, since Homecoming isn't making money on the game, and probably doesn't have the lawyers to fight it.

I don't care if it's inane, nor do I care if you find it irrelevant.  If it keeps the City Lights on, then it needs the greatest attention.

When in doubt, report it.  Let the Giant Monsters sort it out.   Probably no harm done, but may help prolong the City.

Thank you! I might as well make a temporal warrior and test out different versions. Your feedback has been insightful!

You can test out different options - you have 1000 character slots.  Create something on a whim and play for a while.  Table it if you want to try something else.  Actually, trying different versions of a Brute or a Tank could offer you some valuable insight as to what works and what you like,

  5. I think I've seen a few costume contests...never participated,  I never thought my costume was good enough.  But reading all these posts I think I've compiled a list of ideas:

1 - Show up naked.  With beer.

2 - Make sure your costume matches the Judge's idea of a good costume

3 - Make sure your video settings match those of the Judge(s)

4 - Research how the Judge(s) has chosen before

--I'm sure someone has kept a database of all the Costume Contests ever ran

    5 - Sacrifice a goat

    6 - Buy a lottery ticket

7 - And most importantly - Show up and enter the contest.  Winning is random, but you can't win if you don't enter.

There are no trophies for 2nd place

Nor is there one for 1st.

  6. I don't know much about the Terra Volt Respec (not related to John Travolta respect), but I do know there is no worse food than cold french fries.  Those are the worst.  Even if John Travolta served them.

    Just sayin

Yes, you're allowed to have your opinion and you are allowed to post about it.  However that doesn't mean I'm not allowed to have my opinion and also post about it.

No where here does anyone mention anything about keeping you from posting your opinion.  Sounds like you are trying to pick a fight.

Your opinions, and your ability to voice your opinions, is not infringed.

Sadly, this is a widespread social trend.  We have two choices - do as Vanden says and use them as cheap shots for comedic value (cruel), or simply ignore them (also cruel, but less so than the first option.)

I have to disagree on part of this.  I believe it is not cruel to ignore some posts.  Instead, it is can be considered a kindness to not use them as cheap shots for comedic value.  'Can't say something nice...' you know the rest.    I ignore the majority of the forums here, and thus, the majority of posts.  There is no cruelties there.  But ignoring a post that you read, and not responding because you have nothing kind or constructive to say, is not cruel in any way.

Remember - you are entitled to your opinion.  But nobody else is.
