I've been meaning to get around attempting to use AI generators to make art of my toons since I couldn't even draw a decent stick man IRL, this thread and free time has inspired me to give it a go at last. This is what Bing's generator came up with with my first attempts. The costume is not accurate based what I specifically always had the character wear and I likely need to use more details to shore up the final product but even for an early attempt, god damn if this does not show the essence of what Ràs de Gaer Weir is all about!
  2. Favourite animations: A few have already mentioned these so not exactly original but I am a Superman mark at the end of the day so love me some Knockout Blow and Foot Stomp from SS. Crushing Uppercut looks great as a rival power to Knockout Blow from Street Justice. With that it feels like "Yeah screw being cocky, I'm launching you into the atmosphere right now!". Worst animations: Simply put, Tough. Unless I am making a Gorilla or a Tarzan rip-off it just doesn't look right on anything I've made and used the power on. Thankfully there is the flex alt to remedy that. Animations I would like to see: Alt for Fire Ball Blast (Suitable for some of the other blast powers as well for those who use them). Primal Signature characters are all pretty much alive other than Statesman and Sister Psyche Reichsman is still alive but de-powered to the point that he now is second to Requiem in the 5th Column (Seen in one of Max's missions in Dark Astoria). Interesting thing of note is that while it hasn't been followed up in HC or other servers I have seen but in one of the planned updates in Live, Scirocco and Ice Mistral would have defected to Paragon following the events of Dark Astoria with a "Play as Scirocco" mission to help flesh that event out. Mu Vorkan or someone else would have taken Scirocco's place as Patron. Praetorian's are on the other hand quite decimated, least from those loyal to Tyrant. Chimera died in Magi trail, I think Black Swan did as well. Huntsman likely dead after defeating him in Number Six arc if not by player hands, then by Praetorian Hamidon who owns the place now. Diabolique is killed in her iTrial as is Mother Mayhem and Praetorian Malaise (So that's both versions dead since Primal bit the dust in Who Will Die) and yes Anti Matter gave his life in an attempt to hurt Hamidon during the evacuation in Number Six arc. Some are still alive, there is the arc from Provost Marchand Blue side forming The New Praetorians that features Marauder, Pendragon, Riptide and Aurora Pena. There is a Red Side equivalent arc that I know Bobcat joins but can't remember who else is involved in that. Tyrant is still alive but in a deep prison somewhere. Plan was he was going to get his powers back and become Statesman on Primal Earth to give people hope again during the war with The Battalion (Coming Storm). This was somewhat referenced in Statesman preview in NCSoft's failed League of Legends type game. So yeah, a genocider on planetary scale can be forgiven it seems! 🤦‍♂️

When I was informed of the new set by my mates, they figured I would be looking to remake one of my existing toons, in this case Vénus Bássie my Elect/Storm Corr so that the powerset being used would be closer to the concept of the character. While this is not unfounded as I had done this quite a bit previously both here on HC and back on live, changing Mud Slide from Water/Dark Corr to Water/Stone Blaster, giving King Bishop Street Justice to make him different from Prince Bishop using Super Strength, giving my Siren character Symphony Control with Sonic Assault when it was released last year over just being Sonic/Pain, once I logged onto Beta to take a look at the set however my response was... "Nah....not feeling like this fits the character enough to replace what I have" Vénus Bássie wasn't ever a X-Men Storm Homage/Rip off, she was always meant to be more akin to Raiden from Mortal Kombat bringing Thunder Storms into battle specifically rather than all weather elements. So loosing that many lightning blasts, even as weak as Elect Blast is considered it would mean I lose a lot of what I envisioned for the character concept. With that said, there is room for an alt version of the character. Right now I am eyeing the idea of making a Electric Affinity/Storm Blast Defender. Figure that I still have main version of Vénus who can be all out attack but then have a more support version if that is more needed in a Team. Means I also have a excuse to finally give Electric Affinity a go as I never had a concept before now to give the set a try.

    (Re)Union!

    So admittedly I've been on Homecoming since 2020 but haven't really done much on the forums since I just stayed on Discord hanging around with the old CoH RP crew I've known since live, so I haven't known about this post until now. With that said.... Punk Rock version of Rule Britannia starts playing! Was known as @Eleven on Union and while that is still my handle on Everlasting (Followed the RP crew onto there), my main has seen a name change since a show post CoH shutdown got really popular with TV audiences with a popular character of the show having the same name.........not that I am bitter or anything! No really, I'm not bitter, I kinda like the show too. Otherwise all the old toons are back (The Prince Bishop, Torv Vermundr, Impervium Tower to name a few that you may have levelled quite powerfully from!) along with some new creations. Still working on getting builds done over any regular RP'ing (Nowt much changes from live!) but gradually getting there. I'm guessing these videos I made 10 years ago are now also redundant!
  6. You know, you just convinced me to go Defender with this combo after comparing the builds. Pretty much same build you posted for Corr but tweaked as you suggested. Luckily, I haven't started levelling the character yet so no issues re-rolling.
  7. Old habits die hard. If I take Hasten, make it perma. There are a number of builds I have that don't bother with Hasten because it is redundant (My main Blaster is one example) but if I do take it then it is because I am trying to maximise recharge and I want to keep it consistently running. In this case I've take Hasten to ensure Geyser is available for every mob or every other mob. I know that every AT can bring a Judgement to an encounter (If doing Lv45+ content) but even saying that, if I'm not having a blaster bringing nuking options per encounter then I feel I'm letting any team I am with down. Of course I freely admit I might be overthinking that. And case in point of me missing something obvious, I completely forgot about Force Feedback! 🥴 I'm not opposed to taking the Melee attacks as I enjoy them on my Stone Tanker and it would suit the character concept just fine (RP wise this Blaster is the Arch Nemesis of said Stone Tanker). If taking them offers better set bonus solutions, then its great justification. I've not put them in the build initially simply because I'm keeping to the idea that my Blasters/Corrs/Doms keep their distance offering range assistance to Melee team mates getting into the fight close quarter. Again, that might be me overthinking my role and if taking the melee powers is going to be better in the long run, don't mind that at all (Providing going into Melee situations is safe and doesn't make me a liability to the team). Why I took Scorpion Shield? Working the assumption without it Ranged Def would be affected without. However I've gone back and took it out and found Range Def numbers have not changed. But this is why I am seeking feedback, so I can learn this (I still consider myself an intermediary level when it comes to builds). Will happily take Dark Embrace (Charged Armor in Mu would break character concept for me) over Scorpion Shield to help bring up Resist numbers as you say. Can't say that I was consciously trying to get AoE defence up at all, just ended up putting 6th slot in dehydrate based on having it 6 slotted in previous builds. As you say, AoE Def not needed with Range Def but again this I why I am looking for the review so that things like this can be pointed out and I can see opportunities to move slots around. Got some great info here to give build another attempt. Thanks for this, been a great help. EDIT Here's the revised build: Managed to get perma Hasten without Incarnate boost to the point that I was able to move 3rd slot elsewhere and still keep perma status and drop Agility for Musculature for more damage without also affecting Ranged Def. S/L Resist is now 62%. Only thing I am not sure is possible other nuanced slotting I might be missing but mainly choice at 35 for Fracture or Beryl Crystals. Fracture is in this build for now because I am wondering if I need something to ensure mobs stay within Whirlpool while setting up follow up Geyser blast. However I can also see benefit of Beryl Crystal for even more accuracy (95% total boost with it) with bonus perception for times it can be useful. In my quest to get everything re-made from live and well as trying new combos out I have not tried previously, I have been going over builds I had previously and making tweaks to making whole new builds in some cases. This week has been mostly about the Corruptors despite been known as a Scrapper main but have been putting together Corr builds that I am happy with, however I have ran into an issue with a new combo to me, the aforementioned Sonic/Pain combo. Tried putting below build together seeing builds featuring one or the other power and while Smashing and Lethal Def are high and general Dam Res is pretty good, no where close to Cap Ranged Def and not sure if I am doing a disservice to a "healing powerset" build not having hasten which I could not fit in (Wanted to try Sorcery since I've not tried that out either). Appreciate any help with this one. I do not have any objections to dropping Sorcery for Fly pool is that helps slotting better if suggestions want to go that way.   9. I have experience with Water blast before but only on a Corruptor due to this character in a previous version being Water/Dark Corr and of course Earth Manipulation is new for everyone and something I was happy to see as I had a reason to remake this toon as a Blaster as this combo of power set actually matches the original concept of the character. The build however could do with some opinions and guidance as I don't feel like I am getting the slots and sets right. I am able to get Capped Range Def without too much hassle but only just getting perma Hasten from 3 +5 boosted Recharge IO's and Incarnate bonuses. I've tried different sets and was able to get perma hasten without Incarnate powers but at heavy cost to Range Def. It could be that this combo of powers needs Incarnate boosts to make it happen and I just haven't picked up on that but all the more reason to post here to see if I am missing something obvious or way off the mark entirely.
