  1. Yeah, no idea what I was thinking. Regardless, what I have always liked the idea about a Pyrokinesis type of power is that it fits the theme and adds some damage that Mind currently lacks. Sure, I recognize that Dominator primaries don't need damage, but most of them get it in some form, whether it's their T9 pet, creepers, haunt, or better damage in their single target or aoe control powers. It would also give Mind something that really sets it apart, the way Wormhole does with Gravity. Like it said, it's an undeveloped idea, I don't claim to be an expert on power balance or set building. But thematically I think it's a fun idea.
  2. I'm going to throw out an undeveloped idea I've had in the past on Mind Control . . . turn Telekinesis into Pyrokinesis and add an Enflame mechanic to the power. The added damage may actually justify the laughably high endurance cost. Perhaps instead of floating away, the Enflame is simply contagious. The idea doesn't have to be that you are controlling the fire, it could be more that the enemy "believes" they are on fire and thus the damage could be similar to spectral wounds and heal back after the the enflame effect wears off. I love my Mind/Psy/Psy Dom and don't feel he lacks for much, but Telekinesis is absolutely worthless and the fact that it's the tier 8 in the set is a joke.
  3. I thought I would share the Dark/Dark/Soul build that I have put together and have enjoyed so far. I started off as D/D/D but found Dark Consumption completely unnecessary and thought I'd get more use out of power boost. I was not disappointed and I was able to steal the slots that I'd been using in DC and shift them over to some attacks that I had kind of neglected. When I was originally looking around the forum for some guidance on how to build this thing out I didn't find much that was recent so I figured I throw this out there incase it might help somebody. I'd also love to hear any critiques. I'm not a build expert by any means. I originally was trying to focus a bit heavier on defense but I've found that the debuffing is so strong I just don't need much of it and shifted to a more +recharge focus. One question I have for those who understand the math behind Procs (because I don't): In my testing I'm not seeing the Decimation Chance for Build-Up proc fire. I'm sure it sneaks in there from time to time, but I've been monitoring combat logs and a few times I've even copied them to word documents to search things out easier. Nothing. Is the recharge I'm getting from the Decimation set so much that it's just shrinking the chance to fire off the proc that badly? Should I look to slot a different set entirely? Any suggestions are welcome. This Hero build was built using Mids Reborn 3.1.1.2 https://github.com/LoadedCamel/MidsReborn Click this DataLink to open the build! 4. I can't find much in the way of current information on Victory Rush. Most of what I find via forum search are old threads talking about it being buggy and not really understanding what the power does or how it behaves. I've seen the following from various threads: It's only beneficial if targeted off a Boss or higher. It's recharge time isn't enhanceable. It accepts endurance mods but they apparently don't have any effect. Doesn't effect pets. Is all this still true? A few other questions: I'm unclear if any procs actually trigger or if they would even be worth it. I assume there is a high chance they fire, but with such a high recharge, I assume it's not really worth it? Are the values the same on all classes? I have a power selection at 49 that I dont have much need for and I'm debating Victory Rush and Teleport Target. Would love to try VR but if it's a waste I dont want to bother with a respec almost immediately. Thoughts?
  5. Thanks, I'll give this a look later tonight when I can pull up on my laptop. Just glancing over, I notice you shifted some enhancements into Maneuvers. I dont actually run Maneuvers unless I'm exemp'ed down because at 50 I soft cap without. I've played the build I posted quite a bit the past few days and I've been very pleased. It's very versatile. I've still not slotted the Forced Feedback proc into Smash, because I've been worried about the accuracy, so I'll be curious to see how you added additional. I still don't know if Irradiated Ground is optimized, but I have really liked the KD proc from Avalanche in Ground Zero. Putting an entire group on their back to kick things off is very nice, as a lot of minions never get a shot off. I appreciate the response. Looking forward to further improvements. I think Rad/Rad deserves more love than it gets on Brutes. It has been a beast in S/L farms (not the reason I built it) and it's more versatile in regular content that an /Fire brute will ever be.
  6. I have taken various ideas from different builds I've seen and have mashed them together into something that is working well for me, I wish I could remember when I found the original build that I used as a baseline, because I would like to give the original poster credit, but I can't seem to find the post. Apologies if he/she see's similarities. I didn't intentionally slight you. I have some questions about whether this is the optimal way to slot Irriadiated Ground and Ground Zero. One of the two powers need to carry 5 pieces of Superior Avalanche. Also, I currently have an accuracy in place of the Force Feedback proc in Radioactive Smash. Will loosing the Accuracy IO still allow it to hit reliably on +4 content? Will the proc fire often enough to be worth it or should I just keep the accuracy? I currently have this completely slotted at level 49, minus thee following: Armageddon, catalyzed Winter sets, and the last two slots of Weave and final slot of CJ. It functions really well at all levels I've exemp'ed down for but really hits its stride and lvl 30+ content. Also, I've not given much thought to Incarnates yet. Suggestions? Musculature, Reactive/Degenerative, Ion, Ageless and Assault would be my instinct.
  7. One more request!! I know you just hooked me up with a Stone/Elec brute, and I'm thrilled with how it looks, but my buddy is a first time player and rolled a Savage/Bio Brute to play alongside me. Any chance you could do one more??
  8. Been trying to find a good Stone/Electric Brute build. Any chance you could assist me? This thread is a godsend. Really appreciate this, but I'll need to be visiting Altaholics Anonymous here soon.
  9. Is there a way to create a macro that will target glowies? If not every glowie, a majority of the generic ones? Trying to find something that would help with stealthing missions on large maps, such as the map I played last night where I had to rescue 3 citizens on a huge outdoor map.
  10. Redlynne, I really appreciate your well thought out build and explanations of how best to operate. I'm newly back to the game as of a few weeks and ready to move onto toon number 2. Gravity was the troller I always wanted back on Live but could never seem to finish. Your build has me ready to tackle it again. Question: It seems this is a relatively affordable build to produce. I'm not great with Mids or the numbers part of the game, so I rely on the experts, but do you actively avoid heavy Purple usage or is this just the most optimized way to go? Would upgrading to Purple sets anywhere improve things in any way?
  11. This is all very helpful. I appreciate the feedback. I'm going to re-roll as a Scrapper. I know he will ultimately be fine as a Brute, but I enjoyed playing him up this far and it went fairly fast. I'll just do it again and get the most out of the character that I'm really enjoying. Thanks again everyone.
  12. Hey all. I come with a fairly simple question. Is there a general rule of thumb as to when you should choose Brute or Scrapper for a particular build? I ask having just rolled a WM/Shield Brute and climbing the ladder into the low 20's, but I have been told multiple times I should have rolled this combo as a Scrapper because the damage output would be better. Should I just re-roll? I thought I remember from my days on Live that Scrappers didn't crit on their Shield Charge which is what made the set better on Brutes, especially the classic Elec/Shield. Am I misremembering? Was it just the tier 9 Elec/ move that didn't crit? In general, when I'm considering a new character, how do I answer the question of Scrapper or Brute?
