  1. ❄️Happy Holidays everyone!❄️ It's finally time to announce the winner of the 2021 Holiday AE Contest! Let me just start out by saying that the whole team had soooo much fun playing through all of the arcs, and that it was extremely difficult to pick a winner. We were amazed by all the hard work and creativity put into each and every arc, and we highly recommend that people play through all the submitted stories (not just the ones highlighted here). Before announcing the winner, let's start off with some of the team's Honorable Mentions! Honorable Mention: The Dance-Off That Saved Christmas Arc ID: 44962 Created by: @Clave Dark 5 Number of Missions: 3 Description: "Lame Christmas schlock ruins TV every year, so why should the AE be any different? Help Santa save Christmas through a series of weak character motivations and underdeveloped plot holes that Harold Angel of the Paragon Times hearkened to as 'an asinine affront to the holiday spirit!'" (Ack! Get these Reindeers off of me!!!) Dev Review: "This arc doesn't take itself seriously at all, and it's all the better for it! Getting piled on by reindeers and saving Christmas (I think anyway 😅), all while competing in a dance competition had me laughing nearly uncontrollably. Play this arc and I can almost guarantee you'll have a great time!" Honorable Mention: The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year Arc ID: 45220 Created by: @Defeat All Snakes Number of Missions: 3 Description: "Grandville is in the middle of an anti-Christmas crackdown. Trees are torn down, gifts confiscated, carolers hit with riot hoses, and none dare resist. None, that is, but a rumor-shadowed figure who seeks those willing to defy Recluses edict -- one the villains of the isles call only 'The Sandman.'" (You know it's bad when even the skulls are dressing up as Santa!) Dev Review: "An amazing cast of characters really bring this arc to life and tie in beautifully to the idea that people are truly what makes the holidays special, not just the "stuff". And oh my goodness the puppies are amazing and almost steal the show!" Honorable Mention: I Hate Christmas Music Arc ID: 44913 Created by: @Police Woman Number of Missions: 3 Description: "'Tis the season for Christmas music - but that's simply the worst when you're a Troll Raver like the Boogie Man. Help the Boogie Man put an end to the scourge that is Christmas music and replace it with something with a more danceable beat." (No no no! Stop dancing to the Christmas music!!!) Dev Review: "A fun and really unique twist on the classic "Save Christmas" story where you go on an ever escalating journey to try and end Christmas music 😱. You definitely don't want to miss the colorful cast of classical characters who each have a unique spin on them!" And now for the final reveal! Holiday AE Contest First Place Winner: Murder on 34th Street by @@Charlie!!!!! Arc ID: 45294 Created by: @@Charlie Number of Missions: 3 Description: "Santa Claus has been framed for a crime he did not commit. If you don't help prove his innocence, he'll be spending Christmas behind bars." (I wonder what size tire I should get Uncle George for Christmas? Wait, no focus on solving the crime!!) Dev Review: "A great arc that has so many different layers, while finding a way to have a beautiful simplicity. Definitely an arc I'd play over and over again that feels like it has the potential to be a classic!" Congratulations to the winners, and make sure to check out these arcs, and all the other arcs submitted for this contest! We want to wish you all Happy Holidays, and we eagerly look forward to the stories that have yet to be told and that are still to come!
  2. Howdy everyone! First of all, as always, we thoroughly enjoy all of the content you guys are creating! We really enjoy playing through all of them and seeing all the creative stories you guys come up with. Having said that, we've selected some more story arcs for Dev's Choice that we really enjoyed! This month, a couple (not all!) of our selections have less of an emphasis on combat, and more on storytelling. We hope you enjoy all these stories as much as we did! The author(s) will receive 1,000 Reward Merits and a Golden Title. @GM Conviction will be in contact with you shortly regarding your rewards! Please keep in mind if you have previously submitted an arc it is still a potential Dev's contender, we have not yet been able to review them all and are working on an active list. We will continue to update you on selected arcs, so check back often! Any previously awarded "Dev's Choice" arcs, will be moved to "Hall of Fame". After testing the current selection, be sure to filter for these to checkout some other great arcs! The Storyteller: Sabrina's Tale Arc ID: 14388 Created by: @Redbone1 Number of Missions: 4 Description: "Reading a story is one thing, watching is another, but to relive it.... That's something else entirely. The Storyteller invites you to live through one of his tales in which we see sometimes, superpowers can't make the world right." Dev Review: "This arc is about taking a look at a tragic love story between two people. I don't want to get into too much detail here, because it's best experienced first-hand, but the storytelling is wonderful, and there's a lot of heart in this story. It exemplifies that combat isn't everything." DETH ETERNAL Arc ID: 43772 Created by: @Defeat All Snakes Number of Missions: 4 Description: "Okay moron I made you a holo-video-game thing. Are you a bad enough DETH SLAYER to RIP AND TEAR your way through an army of DEMONS that LITERALLY came from HELL?? PS I'm totally gonna laugh if you die in this." Dev Review: "A great take on a not-at-all-serious-origin-story for a character that's ultimately just really fun. Tons of comical references, story, and RP stuff, it's truly a unique arc that I had a blast playing through." The Cassini Division Arc ID: 37104 Created by: @Darmian Number of Missions: 5 Description: "Praetor Sinclair has formed a dedicated unit, The Cassini Division, to track down rogue Powers Division and Resistance members who cross to Primal Earth. Their treachery must be punished and their hidden benefactors found and dealt with." Dev Review: "The second part of a great story continuing the Loyalist Power arc, it involves lots of time-hopping, dimension-traveling, and villain-hunting! All this wrapped around a really enjoyable story that builds and builds until the conclusion makes it something you don't want to miss!" Check out these arcs and let us know what you think! Special thank you to all the GMs and Admins that help us test out each of these arcs! Your time is incredibly appreciated. Additionally, if you have any arcs to review for Dev's Choice fell free to post any recommended arcs for us to review here: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/30759-devs-choice-is-back/

The Golden Age of the Paragon Society Arc ID: 3408 Created by: @WrongNumber Number of Missions: 5 Description: "Every citizen of Paragon City has heard of the adventures of the Paragon Society, a hero group that was active from the 1930's through the 1970's. The last surviving member of this group has asked for your help investigating a secret involving the 5th Column that dates back to World War 2." Dev Review: "A classic old-school feeling mission that has you working to stop the 5th Column from restarting an old experiment. A great blend of storytelling and fun, quirky characters, you definitely don't want to miss this one!" On the Claw-Tipped Wings of Betrayal Arc ID: 43524 Created by: @Jiro Ito Number of Missions: 4 Description: "Help an unusual contact in Cimerora and cover Marcus Valerius' escape with the Idol of Mot from the Talons of Vengeance." Dev Review: "Looking for a story in Cimerora after all that Dark Astoria content? Enjoy being that hero behind the scenes who may not get all the praise but is the one really responsible for saving the day? Look no further than this fantastic arc which sees Cimerora's final moments from a slightly different lens." [Leviathan 1] Hollow Pursuit Arc ID: 37663 Created by: @cranebump Number of Missions: 5 Description: "The murder of a local politician with national aspirations points toward a well-known suspect. When you look into the matter, though, things aren't exactly what they appear to be." Dev Review: "Wow what a ride! Lots of unique characters and a plot that twists, turns, and snakes until the final reveal. And to top it off, its only the first in a series of arcs designed to unveil the mysterious Leviathan organization." Check out these arcs and let us know what you think!
