  1. I'm a Storm/Bio Sentinel and I chose the Hover/Fly/Evasive/Stealth path. Stealth let's me get into position and launch that big Parasitic Leech that gives me more buffer than the enemy Alpha strike that follows can do significant damage to. Hover + Evasive + Athletic is really snappy in a fight at 46th level. Hover keeps me out of melee range in arcs like Jenkins/McIntyre where AVs like Marauder and Battle Maiden can hit hard in melee. Neuron is the only AV that dropped me through that whole thing and that was my fault for aggro'ing the whole room. Bio is one of those sets where I enjoy taking the whole tree but Athletic is 100% skippable unless you're just a fan of flying around.
  2. I'm a huge fan of Invulnerability/Super Strength tankers and just make the classic superman archetype. Especially if you're not swimming in infinite money.
  3. The best quality of life change for the Kheldians would be to make their Cosmic Balance/Dark Sustenance mechanic self-contained instead of team reliant. Possibly a three toggle system similar to the Bio Armor Adaption powers or the Staff stances. On a team, I've never once felt like Kheldians underperform and I can +4/+8 all day after 50, but in daily solo play, I spend most of my time +1/+2-+4 because I'm not juiced up by Cosmic Balance. I still like to play solo, but you definitely feel the lack of Cosmic Balance bonuses. I don't know the full details of that mechanic so if it'd significantly take away from the full ability of Cosmic Balance, I'd say look elsewhere, but it seems like a good starting point that wouldn't overpower the ATs that badly. And besides, who doesn't want more toggles to click?! That'd provide so much variety, I'd be down for that. And make them available to forms! Soul Tentacles from a Squid?! Yes please
  4. Yup! I was playing the ITF (Imperious) last night and our team didn't have any tanks or anything. We had two masterminds. For some reason the pets would cause the arch villains to start running around. When we got to the final battle, we couldn't control the last boss at all, he kept doing laps. I ended up Dwarf form and taunting so he had to stay on me while we painfully and slowly wore him down how every many times. It was a blast but I think we clocked almost 30 minutes on that last fight.
  5. People do go through that with Kheldians. You get Nova, and suddenly you're the invincible map clearing squidlord thinking "This is the life, man!! I could do this all day!!!" ...until about level 15 when you go into a room with your tentacles blazing and all of the sudden you're faceplanted. A couple of hospital trips later you realize things can now hurt you easily. Then you either start being a lot more cautious or team your way to 20 when you can get that delicious Dwarf safety net that hits like a wet towel for the next 6 levels. Then you're just struggling to 38 to get that Light form
  6. Human Nova would work fine for end game content. Just take Boxing, Kick, and Cross Punch and slot those like you would the Dwarf melee so you still have those sets. Most builds already have a pretty well optimized Nova form so you probably wouldn't use that many of those additional slots in that. You could spread those additional slots to Weave or shields. If you plan to play the game content solo to level instead of power leveling or farming, you'll pretty much need to do Tri-Form to 50 first. Nova gets really soft by the late teen levels and you don't get any significant resistance without Dwarf until light form at 38.
  7. My early levels with Cloak of Fear were super exciting because it looks cool and it seemed really effective, but I'm about 45 with my DA tanker and it barely affects anything. By the time my AOE and cone attacks have gone off a couple of times, Cloak isn't worth the Endurance to run. I'm going to revisit it after I get further ahead of the endurance drain but sadly this might be a skippable power.
  8. This is really my favorite way to go as well. I usually have a core idea of a character and then make variations based on the content I'm playing.
  9. I was so intrigued with the lack of Incandescent Strike on that Human-Only build I decided to roll a new character and level up with it. I didn't realize Cross Punch was a formidable attack. The cone is kind of short but I'm at 25 now and it's serviceable. Got a couple of procs built in already and they're showing results. This will be my first procs build also.
  10. I love the drift part of flight in this game. There's no way to stop it in Nova form but Quantum Maneuvers will stop it complete in human form. I just utilize the drift as part of my Nova combat style and keep the form moving around.
  11. Alot of strong statements so far in the thread and I like it. Keeps me examining what actually happens in the game. I went through a bout of Alt-itus and returned to my Invuln taker and I'm now 50 vet level 9. First, just like the pre-50 levels, I've reached a point with my powers and enhancements that I'm nigh-invulnerable to most enemies. Debuffs can become a problem when enough of them hit though and it's worth examining. I tried to solo a large group of bosses and ended up debuffed and on the losing end of the damage vs regen scale. I hit Dull Pain and ate my Greens and was still heading for a dirt nap. I popped unstoppable and resumed dealing damage while my health and endurance max'd out. I won the fight. Encounter 2 was a task force Arch-Villain - I taunted him enough that he was plenty miffed and I was starting to take damage faster than any healing and buffs could keep up with, Unstoppable kept me in the fight and got me back to 100%. As others have mentioned, many incarnate level battles last longer than 3 minutes. I ended up retreating and taking a knee, retoggling and heading back in. This took between one and two minutes. Unstoppable kept me from face planting twice. I still have some big moves I can make in my enhancement slotting and I'm not yet Hybrid in Incarnate so it is still possible that I'll consider spec'ing out of Unstoppable but still...it's useful. Maybe if I didn't hop into groups of bosses solo I wouldn't need it. I'm not really playing it safe. Maybe you are.
  12. Absolutely! I've hit the Cimerora arcs and Ghost Widow alone makes a wicked Elite Boss and she had me on the ropes enough I had to pop Unstoppable to get through the rest of the fight - right after her there was the Jansen part of the arc where he rolls in with two sapper buddies making sure I have zero endurance. The Unstoppable boost to Endurance really got me through it and all the way to the end of that mission.
  13. Ask as many questions as you want! This game has expanded the variety of ways you can play and more questions is always better.
  14. I went ahead and took my difficulty levels up a notch since Unstoppable has a really potent benefit. Between bosses and +1 level, I'm actually taking damage again and Elite Bosses can actually go toe-to-toe with me and have me wondering "am I going to win?". I was fighting one of the Elite Boss Talons leaders and she was actually getting through my tank a little so I popped unstoppable and breezed through her. When I did Defend the Midnight Mansion - the final fight was two Elite Bosses, two Bosses and a bunch of annoying spells whittling away at me. I was down to 500 or so health pretty fast and hitting Unstoppable, Hasten, and Buildup pushed me through the fight. It was really a lot of fun to have the difficulty up that high. I have the 6% Psionic Resist enhancement in Unstoppable for now. I'm trying to decide if I want to get a set in there or slot it like I do Resist Physical Damage which is just a series of bonus enhancements.
  15. I went ahead and took the power since I couldn't find an immediate answer. The power lasts for 3 minutes which is an eternity in the game. It's a panic button so if you're overwhelmed and the team is failing, you can pop it along with haste and possibly turn the tide. That said, after the three minutes is up, my hit points go from 1656ish to 252ish at level 35 and my endurance goes even lower. That's significant and requires some self-awareness to make sure you're not standing at ground zero when everything goes thud. My other thought is, if 3 minutes later you're still overwhelmed - well, you were asking for it. Hit Dull Pain and throw an AOE and try to turtle until your endurance catches up. Overall, it's still pretty easy...in theory. I think at level 35 and not having infinite access to sets, this is a cool power. 3 minutes is a long time to be nigh invulnerable and if you've posted some good psionic resists, you're good to go in any situation. Will I respec out? We'll see. It's a rough crash though. Let's see how it plays out.
