    Nin vs SR

thanks for the elaboration. Just seen a lot of arguments about skippable powers, so made very little sense to me 😄

    Nin vs SR

I know this is an old topic, but I really don't get it. The overall argument for Nin seems to be based on the fact that Ninjutsu got a heal power, and three skippable powers (Caltropes, Blinding Power, and Smoke Flash). VS a set with arguably more defense, a bit of resistance and a +20% cooldown factor. So is it really a good argument that Nin have bad powers, and therefore is a great set? O_o ... What's the justification you can do towards Nin compared directly with Super Reflexes?
  3. Got a lvl 24 dark/bio and just following here. Know I havnt got all powers yet, but it seems pretty weak so far 😞

    Regen Brute

Great example. I think the same can be said about Dark Armor. It has fear, thats in contradiction with its dmg aura, and it got a stun on top of that and a stealth and heal, and it seems like it wants to do EVERYTHING. With that said, in the right hands you become next to immortal (I could summon Snark to the conversation 😄 and he won't stop ranting about it)

    Regen Brute

It's some great points, but again you do assume the brute is that tank, in a game with tanks and masterminds 🙂 a fire aura brute won't be the tank either. instant Heal is the big difference in Regen absolutely.

    Regen Brute

A lot of hate for Regen in this forum. Well the reason is that some mobs do a great deal of burst damage, and that is tough on Regen. However, reconstruct easily restores half your hp and then some, dull pain does the same and adds about half extra to your pool, making your other powers better. Instant heal makes you almost immortal and fills the bar, and moment of glory does the same with very little cool down. The problem is cooldowns, both dull pain and instant heal has long cooldowns. Got hasten and most of your problem is solved. The take a primary like savage melee which decrease your global cooldowns on top. Or go dark and get an extra heal on the attack and a great defensive boost on top. A lot of weird love for Willpower in this forum as well. I dont get it. I think willpower is underwhelming compared to Regen. Sure if you are surrounded by 15mobs WP will shine, however go toe to toe with a boss or a arch villain and you drop like a fly. WP is better for big crowds, that's for sure. Regen is way more stable
  7. WoW - crazy numbers 😮 - I'm pretty new to actually playing the game for real XD Played it since launch, and then on off while it was alive, but it's not until I returned I got a toon passed level 35 and I didn't really dabble to much in IO's - So really suprised to see people playing +2/+6 on level 30's stuff. Unless you have a crazy setup I see no way a toon can make that alone by that level 😮 But I'm inspired to up them rookie numbers 😄
  8. When leveling, what difficulty do people play on? (Just curious.) Myself, depends on the AT - for brutes usually lvl+0, team size +3, MM it's 0/4 and all ranged it's 0/2, while Stalker it depends a bit on the mission type - but mostly 2/1
  9. But all Necro henchmen can life drain. They all heal themselves and have a fairly high resistance with -acc debuff to enemies. No heal required at all. I run them with traps, works wonders
  10. TL:DR - Stop comparing archetypes - they fill different roles. Instead focus on the experience. Is your Brute fun? If yes, play it - if no, take one of the other 800 archetypes the game provides 🙂 What a load of nitty gritty boohooing I see in this conversation 😄 Sorry to be rude - But Brutes are amazing! Yes Tanks got a buff, but Tanks needed a buff - Yes Brutes got a nerf, because they needed a nerf (about 20% dmg on max rage, because max range is very hard to get. But to be honest that doesn't really matter all that much for hte overall experience) - currently we have a decently high damage output, and until a Scrapper goes level 50 and add a bunch of speciel stuff, Brute tend to stay ahead in the damage curve, and be more survivable than a Scrapper. Brutes have a 90% dmg cap - yes it's harder to actually get, but it can be done (just not for all dmg types at all time). Already now we are less survivable but overall more damaging than Tanks (in single target dmg) and more survivable and even more damaging than Scrappers on average. I see Brutes as the Master Race - whenever I roll I toon I often lack the flexibilty that a Brute offers. Bottomline - disregarding the other archetypes do I enjoy my Brute. The answer is Yes I do! I don't care if a Tank or Stalker or Scrapper can do better. Brutes do their thing, and it's amazing!
  11. Only got up to level 8 last night. But early impression is a bit confused. First off you need to pull out the rifle, which takes a moment. So if you don't par it with arse assault it's a bit annoying to look at and wait for every time you shoot off a primary. However, initially it seems overwhelmingly powerful. We got a massive sleep power that reapply itself and slow down recharge. Only problem is they seem to wake up for a milisecond every 2 second or so and sometimes can get a shot off. To close that gap we have the ice patch power that allow us to put both sleep and a constant knockdown on the mobs for an extended period of time. Now the mobs are really trapped and even better it does 300dmg (unslotted) they can't escape from 😮 what the heck. And saw that tear gas seem to work much the same way. So far the control set seems extremely powerful and I might say even to powerful. The arse assault is decent do far. Got an arse corruptor and the big difference is all the AoE is swapped with melee attacks. However, almost all powers do have a knockdown, so I think it seems pretty Brilliant. Not sure why there is a trip mine though
  12. I skipped the healing power (might have been a mistake) but yeah darkest night is great, except for the very taxing end consumption 😞 I might be doing it wrong, but it just seems that it's not really working out for my playstyle. I'll beef him up to level 32 to see where things are going though.
  13. Psy Armor For all melee classes and Sentinel - Based on Absorbtion powers and CC like Fear and -ACC debuff. Could be something along the line of: - Passive Absorb - Active Absorb that adds a shield of X amount for some time - Heal power (reconstruction type) - Fear Aura - Debuff ACC & Dmg Aura - some more stuff Poision/Venom Offensive set. So we have a secondary set, that is so-so. But a DoT and debuff offensive set would be really great, both for melee and ranged.
  14. Thanks - And true /Dark does have some various effects, but none of them are useful against bosses and above. Hold power, only for LT, fear power fine against bigger groups but it doesn't last that long, slow power is rather small, but very effective. But overall, I would like to team up more going forward (as there are more players to do so with anyways :))
  15. So I currently run a level 25 Fire/Dark Corruptor. And I must say I'm a bit disappointed. The guy pack a punch. Fire does what it promises, however, it's all it does. There is no CC in the set at all, and Dark has some nice synergy (Slow power + Rain of Fire) but ultimately I die A LOT compared to my other toons. He is very squishy and it is very hard to deal with tough enemies as they just kick me around like a ragdoll. So was think of going Pain or Kinetic, but I havn't done those before, so whats the ups and gains, and what do they pair well with and why? As far as I can see Pain has some nice self-healing and both group buff on dmg and resistance and debuff to the enemy, but the last power is a single buff to a team member, and not useful when soloing. Kinetic seems more rounded, some middle tier powers for only friendlies, but overall it beefs your own dmg and debuffs the opponent. But which is more... fun and also what works really well? (I like synergies in my sets 🙂 doesn't have to be Top of the damage chart or something like that, but some synergy and some sensiblity in CC (as fire has zero and it's bugging me greatly (I recently made a Gravity/Seismic Dominator. Dude is throwing people around like dolls, and it's a lot of fun :D)
  16. This is absolutely amazing - there are more people online now than the last couple of months of live 😮 How did this happen? :O
  17. Ah mistake on my side. Seems the acc debuff persist. But at least for my stalker, when I hit a feared target they seem to get put of the state. Ah okay, cool clarification. I might still try it 🙂 Didn't know the stealth doesn't break, that changes a lot 🙂 Really nice summary 🙂 thanks a lot 🙂
  18. I found a post from you a while back - quite a few good points - however, I dabbled a bit yesterday and found that my theme would fit really well with Fire Aura really xD I think what mainly confuse me about Dark is how it's counter-intuitive on some points. It has a dmg aura, but a stealth power and a fear aura which doesn't make sense, as the dmg one will cancel the other two out. On top of that it has a stun aura, well the stun and fear won't do anything against any boss and higher mobs (and it seems (I might be mistaken) but rather End heavy as well compared to other sets) - That being said, it seems to have a VERY powerful heal, a fun revive power, and in general a great theme. Could you perhaps point out the most commen thing you think people get wrong about dark?
  19. Makes sense - just seems like all though mobs would ignore the high level powers (not gonna fear a boss or an AV) - perhaps rad armour it is xD Does seem like Dark has a pretty powerful healing power though
  20. Really great points - thanks. It seems to me like Dark Armour tries to be a swiss army knife - It got pretty much every keyword in the game jammed into it, but I have a hard time figuring out if it is a good or a bad thing 😄 You have a great point about the recharge part at least, as you say both Axe and Sword have long cooldowns, but short animations for the most part, so guess it makes a lot of sense :)
  21. So I'm settling on a brute and I'm pretty sure I'll pick Broadsword (maybe Axe, but broadsword looks slightly cooler :D) Anyways, eitherway I need a secondary, and I have no experience with either dark or Rad armor - any pros and cons I should be aware off? They seem rather similar, however, Dark seems slightly all over the place with several different utility powers, and Rad seems very focused on healing, resistance and shields.
  22. sounds pretty amazing too 🙂 Guess Elec could do the same trick (however, not as much resistance as you can get defense in SR)
  23. Thats a pretty good point 🙂 As well as I remember it also have a recharge power on top of that as well
  24. So I never tried Savage Melee, of some reason I always stayed away from it - BUT recently I noticed that it gives a native recharge time bonus, which means it would go very well with a secondary set that has a lot of cooldowns. So far I'm down to either Regen (as there are a lot of heals that require quite the cooldown time (Dull pain, instant healing, revive, moment of glory, reconstruction) all of which would benefit greatly from this natural bonus, rather than something like super reflexes which wouldn't care much about cooldowns. My other alternative is Ninjutsu, another powerset I never really used, but it has caltropes, heal, smoke, blind, which also would benefit greatly from the recharge bonus - BUT which fits better into the savage melee set? Any thoughts?
