  1. What: Guns and Gadgets - Arsenal/Assault Rifle Superteam
Where: Excelsior (first meeting in Mercy Island)
When: Fridays at 8pm Eastern/5pm Pacific US (first meeting 15 March 2024)/Sat 12am UTC - Link for your timezone
Who: The Justice Superteamers (the folks behind the Justice TA, Traps, Radiation, Blades, Earth, Gun, Darkness, Time, Water, Indomitable Sonic, and Excelsior Nature, Knockback, Electric, Thermal/Cold, Dark, TA, Guns, Poison, Stone, Time, Rough Riders, Symphony, Psychic, Demon/Fire Control, Storm, Epic AT, and Fold Space Superteams)
    Why: FUN, fortune, and glory!

The Justice Superteamers run many projects to leverage the power of stacked (de)buffs and explore common themes to accomplish things that a random group could not. Come join us on Excelsior for our Guns and Gadgets Superteam where we will harness the power of Assault Weaponry to subdue our foes. Long time vets and new players are all invited as we focus on fun with other friendly players.

    AT/Build Requirements:

    • Must be one of the following as the theme promotes Natural/Tech characters relying on their weaponry:
      • Assault Rifle/Devices Blaster
      • Assault Rifle/Traps Corruptor
      • Traps/Assault Rifle Defender
      • Arsenal Control/Traps Controller
      • Arsenal Control/Arsenal Assault Dominator
      • Mercenaries/Traps Mastermind
    • Required Powers (slotting):
      • Maneuvers by level 14 (2 slots worth of Defense enhancements by level 20)
      • Trappers must take:
        • Force Field Generator (2 slots worth of Defense)
        • Acid Mortar
        • Poison Trap
    • The following are suggested, but if you can't fit them all in, not required:
      • Assault
      • Tactics
      • All AOE powers that do Knockback have a Knockback to Knockdown enhancement (Sudden Acceleration, Overwhelming Force)
        • Buckshot and M30 Grenade are the biggest examples
        • Arsenal Control is reliant on keeping enemies in the control patches so we don't want them knocked out
    •  Other team-focused powers are great too: Vengeance, Victory Rush, Weaken Resolve, Spirit Ward, and Teleport Target are always useful.
    • You're welcome to make use of your other build if you'd like to maintain a solo, PVP, or non project compliant build.

    Miscellaneous Details:

    • Our first meeting will take place Friday, March 15, 2024 at 8pm EDT/5pm PDT/12am UTC (see link above for time zone conversions) at Arbiter Richard in Mercy Island on Excelsior. Feel free to show up fresh from the tutorial (or even skip it).
    • We'll be coordinating the group through use of a global channel named "Justice Superteamers". Everyone participating on this team must join the channel. (/chan_join "Justice Superteamers").
    • We have a Justice Superteamers SG with a fully functional base. Team members are welcome to join the SG and anyone is welcome to use the public base amenities with code: JST-19564. We also have a Discord channel for out of game and voice communication.
    • We'll start in the Rogue Isles and run arcs, papers, and banks there, but will eventually make ourselves vigilantes/rogues so we can enjoy what Paragon and Praetoria have to offer.
    • We'll be focusing on PVE content (TFs, Contact Arcs, iTrials, the occasional newspaper/scanner, etc).
    • There is no limit on the number of people that can join us. This isn't going to be a fixed group of 8; the more, the merrier. Feel free to show up late, roll a 2nd alt, etc.
    • Super-Sidekick makes teaming incredibly easy. If you already have a character that fits the theme of this team, or won't be able to join us at the start of this team, don't worry; we'll accept you at any level, any time. Just note that if you're significantly beyond the rest of the team in terms of level, you should expect to exemplar down to the rest of the team most of the time.

If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to post here or send a /t or email to @Perfect Square, @Hedgefund, or @EF in-game.

  2. Sorry to hear you missed us. I'm not sure either. I did show up a bit late tonight, but was monitoring the Justice Superteamers channel and didn't see any messages. I just doublechecked my log file to be sure I didn't miss them. Where did you send your chat messages? Happy to team with you next week if you want to try again. You can message me directly at @Perfect Square if you don't get a response on channel.

  3. Thanks to everyone who made it out to the kick off event last night! We had 14 running around Nova Praetoria and Imperial City, and it was great fun. Most of us are 14-19 so we'll start in Neutropolis next week with Ivy or Aaron Walker if you want to follow along with the missions. Once the majority of us are 20, we can move on to First Ward. Hope to see you all again. We'll start every Sunday at the same time and coordinate teaming through the "Justice Superteamers" channel. Make sure it's visible on your character and post in there for invites to teams.

If you missed it last night, but want to join us in the future, come on out. We try our best to include everyone, regardless of level or alignment. You have several options to team with us on Sunday night:

    • Roll up a new Praetorian (choose Going Rogue at step 1 of Character Creation) and (optionally) level up (to 14+ if you want to follow along with story arcs).
    • Roll up a new Primal (choose Freedom in CC) and take Pocket D or a SG portal to Neutropolis.
    • Bring an existing character that fits the build requirements to Neutropolis

  4. What: Huddle and Hurt - Damage Aura and Fold Space Superteam
Where: Excelsior (first meeting in Nova Praetoria)
When: Sundays at 8pm Eastern/5pm Pacific US (first meeting 5 Nov 2023)
Who: The Justice Superteamers (the folks behind the Justice TA, Traps, Radiation, Blades, Earth, Gun, Darkness, Time, Water, Indomitable Sonic, and Excelsior Nature, Knockback, Electric, Thermal/Cold, Dark, TA, Guns, Poison, Stone, Time, Rough Riders, Symphony, Psychic, Demon/Fire Control, Storm, and Epic AT Superteams)
    Why: FUN, fortune, and glory!

The Justice Superteamers run many projects to leverage the power of stacked (de)buffs and explore common themes to accomplish things that a random group could not. Come join us on Excelsior for our Huddle and Hurt Superteam where we will harness the power Damage Auras and Fold Space to subdue our foes. Long time vets and new players are all invited as we focus on fun with other friendly players.

    Power/Build Requirements:

    • Must have at least one powerset with access to a Damage Aura, defined as a toggle power that does inherent damage as part of the power
    • Required Powers (slotting):
      • Damage Aura, as defined above, taken as soon as it's available (1 Acc, 2 Dam worth of enhancements by the following level)
      • Fold Space by level 20 (1 Acc, 1 Recharge worth of enhancements by level 30; 2nd Recharge recommended)
      • Assault by level 26
      • Maneuvers by level 32 (2 slots worth of Defense enhancements by level 33)
    • Tactics is suggested, but not required.
    • Other team-focused powers are great too: Vengeance, Victory Rush, Weaken Resolve, Spirit Ward, and Teleport Target are always useful.
    • Warshades have access to a damage aura and a Fold Space clone in their secondary so are valid options for this team. Those powers are not accessible in Nova or Dwarf so Warshades are expected be in human form most of the time.
    • You're welcome to make use of your other build if you'd like to maintain a solo, PVP, or non project compliant build.

    Miscellaneous Details:

    • Our first meeting will take place Sunday, Nov 5, 2023 at 8pm EST/5pm PST on the star in Nova Praetoria on Excelsior. Feel free to show up fresh from the tutorial (or even skip it). The "Going Rogue" option on the character creator will start you there, though Freedom players can still get there via bases or Pocket D.

  5. It's only week 3 and we run each project 4-6 months so you're still in the beginning. And we never exclude any players who meet the project requirements so we'll be sure to get you on a team, though sidekicking/exemplaring to the majority of the teams level is typical (most of us are in the low 30s now).

If you have any trouble with channel, several of our regular's globals are in the OP. Just send us a tell tonight. Hope to see you then.

  6. Villain Epic ArcheType - a convenient way to refer to Arachnos Soldiers or Widows and their various branching flavors.

    https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/VEAT

This team welcomes those and "HEATs" - Peacebringers and Warshades.

Collectively referred to as EATs - Epic Archetypes, since they were released later than their Hero and Villain predecessors and originally had a requirement of a level 50 on the account.

    are we doing something sunday,

We host our storm Superteam on Sundays. That started months ago so most Stormers are working on Incarnate slots (and a few alts), but all are welcome.

    Quote

next friday, and where should we meet ??

Yes, this team will run every Friday at the same time (8pm eastern/5pm pacific). We don't have a designated meetup spot outside of the first night, but coordinate teaming through the custom channel (and Discord). /chan_join "Justice Superteamers" on your team alt and you'll see and can post messages in the main chat box.

  8. https://www.timeanddate.com/time/zones/edt

    Eastern (US) Daylight Time

UTC -4, the time zone the large majority of the eastern United States uses in the summer months, during the hour shift forward, until Nov 5, when it back shift to EST (Eastern Standard Time) for the winter months.

I could also just say ET (Eastern Time) and captured both, but that sometimes confuses non-US players and on line time converters. People will sometimes say EST when they mean EDT, but that is not correct as EST remains UTC -5 in the summer months (some areas don't shift and do legitimately stay on it year round) and is an hour earlier than EDT (in line with summer Central Time in the US).

@smnolimits43 Are you planning to join us? If so, what time zone are you in and we'll be sure to make sure you show at the right time.

  9. What: Spiders and Squids - Epic Archetype Superteam
Where: Excelsior (first meeting in Atlas Park)

    • We'll be coordinating the group through use of a global channel named "Justice Superteamers". Everyone participating on this team must join the channel. (/chan_join "Justice Superteamers"). If you show up later or in subsequent weeks, ask for an invite there.

  10. I have encountered this several times over the years. You can also auto-complete it, BUT you have to call Eagle Eye on the phone since he also acts as the "mission door" so talking to him in person only gives the mission entrance dialog. Specifically: call him, accept mission, keep talking (or call again), get complete or abandon options. For those seeking the badge, this method does award it properly.

Thanks for reporting, Phantom. This has frustrated me multiple times and now I know how to avoid it. I usually am on a team when I get it so save it for later, but I'll just knock it out quickly in the future.

  11. The main reason there seems to be a discrepancy in drop rates is because of veteran level rewards, those threads and Emps early on skew things in favor of it seeming like threads drop more often (which if you count those bonuses, they certainly do).

It all depends on what content you are running, but shards are quite useful if you run a lot of WSTs and level 50 TFs (and relatively few DA arcs or ITrials) like I do. I don't use thread based components for Alpha until all 5 other slots are T4. I usually complete my Alpha about halfway through that process, and then convert shard based components to thread based to help with the rest.

    30 minutes ago, ClawsandEffect said:

I've been playing him consistently through the Dark Astoria content. He hasn't had a Shard drop in over a week.

That's because DA content doesn't drop shards. It was designed as the "solo thread based" incarnate path for those that didn't do iTrials.

    26 minutes ago, FupDup said:

However, if you do very specific TFs/SFs you can get the salvage outright (i.e. Ancient Nictus Fragment from ITF). In theory this could be pretty fast but in practice some of the TFs aren't very popular (like LRSF/MLTF) so that knocks the wind out of the sails of that approach.

This is what I do, but my experience is completely different. I don't know what shard you play on, but LRSF/MLTF are run very frequently on Excelsior, and they are very fast. Some of the channels I'm in run "TF stacks" that effectively get you 3 components in less than an hour. Other than the CoP, I can fill any other TF very quickly during high traffic hours.

It sounds like Laz is suggesting that the drop rate and rewards be increased if we eliminate shards, not arguing against it. I'm not sure why folks object to that. It sounds like we all agree that it would make life easier to merge them, so why not merge the drop rates/rewards as well?

  12. This has been an issue for years. See my notes on last years thread reporting the same issue:

My hypothesis has been that it happens on characters who haven’t logged in since last anniversary and the check to see if they have this year’s charges gets a false positive on last year’s grant, though I have some that haven’t gotten in the past 3 years, but only log in once/year. This works well with your 350 day idea.

I encounter it frequently as well, but can’t narrow down the exact conditions it occurs since there are limited testing opportunities. There must be something specific the OP and I do that triggers it.

  16. In all the descriptions of the Lore->Storm Elementals powers that summon a "Tempest Elemental", they are incorrectly called a "Diviner". i.e. the descriptions say Diviner, but a "Tempest Elemental Essence" is what is actually summoned.

I believe the description was accurate at some point because the CoD link has the correct text, but the in game description does not.

My hypothesis is that this happened via some mass search/replace, perhaps when Knives of Vengeance were added/corrected since they do have both Tempest and Diviners.

  17. You helped me with my Vidiot name change issue in CoH Modder, and it worked like a charm, but it also removed my optimal paths. This makes sense since they are modding ths same overlays, but it begs the question: If I install this mod, do I even need Vidiots? Are there any maps that Vidiot mods that this one doesn't? Or can I just install the optimal paths and essentially get both?

Thanks for all you do to support the community. I've introduced several fellow players to this mod and they all find it very useful.
