  1. Dang! I know what you mean about what Captain America would call "Language." I had some similar experiences during my military career from 1983-2000, then 2002-2014. In one of my units we had a Specialist (aka SP4; Pay Grade E4) (age 19 or 20) powerfully built, real nice guy, and the son of a LTC in Special Forces, I mention that because the "Kid" had a "Certain Sub-Set of Skills" before he ever joined the Army. He was at an on post Oktoberfest when some runt in USMC PT uniform was making a drunken @ss of himself, long story short, our young SP4 was asked by an MP (Military Policeman) to assist him in detaining the @sshat. Things went "Pear Shaped" (as they do)... The Marine laid out the MP, and our young hero got the Marine by his hair, trying to detain him with the minimum use of force... Scuffle ensued, and they both fell to the ground, during which the punk tried some "ninjitsu" maneuver, resulting in his face sliding down a chain-link fence, our SP4 was trying to prevent that and the knuckles of one hand got badly scraped trying to pull his face back. Another NCO and I got called into the Provost Marshal's Office (military equivalent to a police station) to retrieve our soldier. He had a hangdog look; the Marine had received first aid from the MPs, but had refused to be taken to Womac Army Medical Center. The MPs were explaining what happened, and that our soldier was not in trouble, but he had to make a Sworn Statement (written). We had been called in to take him back to our barracks, and to let our chain of command know our soldier had been assisting an MP when the incident occurred. About this time a fierce USMC Major stormed in the Provost Marshal's Office, though standing less than 5'6" he looked like no one to mess with. His companion is Proof of the "Missing Link" standing at least 6'4" I think his knuckles were dragging on the floor, Arms larger than my Thighs! Broad Chest, think the Biggest possible in the CoX creator. No neck, his massive head seemed embedded upon his massive shoulders and barrel-chest. Glacis forehead that would deflect a 120mm APDSFSDU projectile, such as could kill an M1A2(HA) Abrams Tank! As the Major took charge, the Missing Link glared at everyone. That Marine Major was spitting out words like a machinegun laying down a FPF (Final Protective Fire); then he suddenly stopped, and stated, "Did THAT Occur during the Incident!?!" He was swiveling his head between the damaged face of his Marine, and the skinned knuckles of our SP4. Our hero tried to conceal his injured hand behind his back as he stammered out, "Uh... Y-yes, um, Yes Sir." The Marine Major pivoted towards the US Army MP Desk Sergeant, and then the Major said, "Right. It Will Be a Courts Martial, then!" The MP Desk Sergeant, myself, and the SSG (Staff Sergeant) with me, all started trying to explain that the SP4 was just performing his duty, under the orders of an MP (a PFC if I recall correctly). The face of the enraged Marine Major suddenly changed. Smiling (simultaneously cheerful and intimidating), the Marine Major sated, "I only require a sworn statement from your soldier, and the military police. I meant this Disgrace to My BELOVED CORPS has squandered hi Last Chance! He will be Courts Martialed! GUNNY take the Prisoner to the vehicle. If he causes any inconvenience, or opens his mouth, ERRADICATE him!" The perma-scowl on the visage of the US Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant (aka The Missing Link) was enlivened with a difficult to describe look of Satisfaction/Anticipation... The Gunnery Sergeant led away the Condemned. The Major was careful to not use "undue command influence" (at least not any more than he already had, his spine-tingling presence not withstanding) but he "suggested" that our SP4 "needn't write a book" just the unvarnished facts. Date, time, location, name(s), and the bare circumstances, in particular that our soldier's hand had been injured while apprehending the (soon to be Former) Marine; under orders from a US Army MP. He also got the MP Report Number; I don't think the Major was yet aware that an MP had been assaulted too. I have witnessed Soldiers, Sailors, and Marines that were more spectacularly drunk. More egregious acts, and situations that came to the attention of more senior officers, including Generals and/or Admirals. I have never witnessed an Indvidual who was more DOOMED!
  2. Thanks Tidge! That was pretty much my recollection of Respecing. I got the "wrong" P2W Enhancement "stuck" in a power. Srmalloy just posted how I can drag the ENH to the garbage (I couldn't seem to drag it back to the "tray") Since it is a FREE P2W I will just destroy it, then get another and put that one into the power I want it in. Cheers!
  3. I just (Re)Started CoX, Homecoming, Easter Weekend. I am a Proud Alt-a-Holic, and so I started 13 Toons on my first day (back). Before creating my Toons, I read a bit in the Forums, Wiki, etc. I stumbled upon a similar solution. I went to the P2W Vendor, equipped each Toon with various ENH, "Prestige" Powers for more attacks, faster travel, and the Inspiration Chest (3 every 30 minutes). I have a lot of $hit going on in the real world; still I try to log on several toons a day; most parked at WW to be able to sell Inspirations. I log in each of my Toons, receive the Gift of 3 INSP, put most of them on the market at WW's, and then run one of my Toons for a bit to do missions, and (Re)Learn the game. In a week several of my Toons have earned over a Million Influence; most of the rest have earned at least Half a Million. I have bought some SO's and traded amongst my Toons various DO or Common Enhancement drops, using a SG Base. I am taking it slow, as I really enjoy the game, and the environment. I also have a LOT to (re)Learn before I join a TF or even a PUG, without causing too much of a mess. I am having Fun, Learning, and earning adequate Influence to prepare my Toons for adventuring from Levels 11-20. I will consider what you are doing, and perhaps imitate your scheme to earn Influence, if I need to. Still, you validate what I have learned from experience 2004-2012, and from browsing the Forums. Fun can be had in many ways in this Game. I hope everyone finds some ideas on how they can get sufficient Influence to improve their Toons, without anything becomeing a grind. Cheers!
  4. I have searched the Forums for "Unslotting/Unslot" and although I have found several threads discuss Why to Unslot. I haven't found HOW to Unslot. I don't want to Respec my Toon (only level 11. However, I put one of the P2P Enhancements into the wrong Power. I messed around trying to figure out how to remove or move the Enhancement. Nor could I delete it while it is slotted. If I could delete it, I can just get another from the P2P Vendor in AP. I have only been on Homecoming for about a week (although I played CoH/CoX from 2004 to 2012). I have a LOT of things to Learn/(Re)Learn. I am fiddling around at lower levels (below 20) to get a feel of the game (again) and the changes. So, I would prefer to figure out how to Unslot, if that is possible without wasting a Respec. Any advice would be appreciated! BTW: I have spent nearly as much time in the Forums (and a bit on the Wiki) to refresh my memories, and to (Re)Learn as much as possible. However, I also Need to Play the game to get (back) in the Swing of Things. I have been looking over suggested builds, and tinkering with my own. I am an Alt-a-Holic, and made 13 Toons on my first day back. SO, if I can Unslot, it will help me experiment with a variety of Toons, and share various DO/SO, and eventually IOs between them. (I know the P2P Enhancements cannot be shared; I just want to change what Power currently has a P2P ENH.) Thanks!
  5. Or, as we Infantry NCOs used to say, "There is a Fine Line between Hard and Stupid... And You (or That) is Far Across It!"
  6. During my first deployment to the "Sandbox/Litterbox" (Dec 2004 - March 2006) we lived on an Austere base: FOB Chosin (5 days on FOB, then 5 on a FIRM Base "Platoon" 60 Men; USMC but we were part of a composite US Army Brigade attached to the Marines); food was prepared on an MKT (Mobile Kitchen Trailer, canvas sides, AC units banded to the framework to make it barely survivable for the 7 cooks for 1,000+ Men {No women}). We would Volunteer for Mail Runs to FOB Kalsu just to grab a meal in a KBR DFAC! At least we had decent bottled water from Kuwait, lots of mineral content, had to drink a bottle of cranberry juice at least a couple of times a week (mixing it with water); but ever Infantry or Cavalry Platoon got a HEMET 10 Ton Truck full of Gatorade EVERY WEEK! Plenty of powdered Gatorade too! We usually drank 2 or 3 bottles of water per Gatorade (premixed) or added powder equal to 1/3rd strength both for taste, and for the electrolytes, etc. We joked that we Should have bought Stock in Coca-Cola Bottling Corp.! (owners of Gatorade tm) Marines may be "Hard As Woodpecker Lips" but at least they Take Care of their personnel; well at least better than the US Army (or most other armies) do! I was a Beta Tester, and then played CoH on Live before deploying. I was wounded, and required extensive physical therapy after my return to The World. The Bachelor NCO Quarters, and much else of Fort Campbell was under reconstruction, so the "Warrior Transition Unit" was quartered in a Motel miles from the Main Gate, on Stateline Road, (As I recall). I PLAYED A LOT of CITY OF HEROES with my foot/leg in a cast. I had an hour or two of PT (Physical Therapy) 5 days a week, and minimal collateral duties; so a LOT of time with nothing to do. (I was the Only soldier from my Brigade at Fort Campbell; once a week I reported to my First Sergeant or Sergeant Major, by phone or email.) I met several of my fellow WIA in COH, we would hobble across the street to Hooters. I am still friends with some of those guys. We recruited others to play CoH (no CoV etc. back then). Good Times! Some years later I developed kidney issues from that water...
  7. Aeroflot, that Indonesian Airline, and several airlines that fly into, and out of many African nations/warzones come to mind. In most of North America, Western Europe, and parts of Asia, airlines tend to be risk adverse. Other parts of our Earth they have airlines that people bring goats into the passenger compartment, and incoming fire from small arms, or PANPADS/SAMs is probable (though likely poorly aimed).
  8. Only Twice? I served for 28 Years. Deserts, Jungles, and Sh!tholes like Fort Bragg, Fort Benning, Hunter Army Airfield, MacDill AFB, the JRTC, NTC, and "Jurassic Park" among many others... Sometimes I got 2 IV's in less than 24 Hours! Of course when it is 125F+ and we had to keep on keeping on... As much as possible we (NCOs) tried to reason with the chain of command that similar to Machines, HUMAN BEINGS just won't function unless treated properly. Unfortunately, that too often meant we had to suffer heat casualties (or other casualties) until they realized that Facts Are Stubborn Things!
  9. Yep, almost certainly a typo. Thus my comment(s) about being "Snarky too/Two"
  10. Speaking "Garlic?" is that a slight against Italians? (I can be "snarky" too! Or, should that be "Snarky Two"?
  11. As I recall, there used to be an occasional single Contaminated that spawned in the vicinity of the Kings Row tram station.
  12. Thanks for your sharing. I am building a Brute Psionic/Willpower, and I found this guide to be very useful.
  13. Thanks for a Guide extolling all the Wonderful CONTENT too many miss in their rush to Level.
