  1. I remember both of you! And I remember Green Eyed Lady! Oh my goodness; the nostalgia is too much right now! Magnus! Isn't this great?! So good. Sooooo good! I've been able to recreate most of my characters, and give them the things I missed out on in later updates.
  2. I've chipped in. I wish I could have given more but the AUD/USD exchange rate sucks ass at the moment.
  3. Is perma-Haste still possible? I believe after ED it was possible to get about a 30-45 second gap between recharges.
  4. If I had forgotten my character's names, I would not have been bothered by it; this is all a fresh start after all. That said, I'm pleased to have been able to recreate my MAIN main character and name him as he was back then.
  5. Actually the answer is, even if they could we don't think they should. Just because something can be done doesn't mean it should be done. Thank you, Dr. Ian Malcolm. Don't be a jerk just because you don't like the answer. Not a Jurassic Park fan?

  7. The thought of badge/accolading hunting to get back all of those health and stamina bonuses, etc. makes me cringe. I put a lot of hours into collecting them (the equivalent of months' worth of gameplay) when the game was live last decade through to the official servers shutting down. I have limited time to play the game these days, and as grateful as I am to be playing the game in 2019, I'd rather focus my time (as limited as it is these days working full-time, and being a family man) on the gameplay itself: PvE content/story, and PvP. Free accolades? Yes please!
  8. Playing CoH/V shortly after release (and through to the official servers shutting down) taught me a lot of good lessons in my early 20s about teamwork and team dynamics. The way I saw it, if I was joining someone else's team, it wasn't about what I needed; it was about making things easier for the team leader and the group. If I wanted something for myself, I played solo. Otherwise there's nothing wrong with making polite suggestions about increasing difficulty, mob sizes, elite bosses, etc., but to openly express dissatisfaction about team orientation, difficulty, etc. is counter-productive. If you don't like it, leave the team. Otherwise be part of the solution.
  9. Opinions aside... (and all of which seemed to have dodged the question); all I'm asking if it's something that can be done.
  10. I mean, the guys running this thing have the keys to all the arcade machines (so to speak), they can make this happen, right? If so, what kind of daily login rewards would you like to see? Influence? Merits? Enhancements? XP boosts?
  11. My son is old enough now to play and enjoy video games like City of Heroes. I'm going to tell him this Friday night, "Son, let me show you a REAL game" because... fuck Fortnite.

  13. I'll share what I'm using once I get back home from work. I don't know how effective the build is yet (as I'm still working on getting all the enhancements I need for the build), but perma-Rage is still doable, getting a high smash/lethal resistance is still doable, but the powerset combo relies heavily on the Energy ancillary power pool. You're going to need all the +stamina regen you can get. I forgot how much of a stamina sap the build was.
  14. Diminishing Returns had to happen. I remember very clearly, the esteemed Jack "Statesman" Emert", issuing a dev letter to the community about those changes. Enhancement diversification was a major theme, and it meant being a bit smarter with how many slots you put into a power and what enhancements you would use. While it was fun - back in the day - to run a perma-Unstoppable Tanker build, it was clear that that's not how the set was meant to be used. The playerbase, however, was very good at adapting. We dealt with it.
  15. Former player here; played since beta (2003). No other MMORPG came CLOSE to providing me with the sense of satisfaction and fun that CoH/V did back in the day. P.S. Liberty server represent!
  16. City of Heroes/Villains was my first MMORPG. I've missed the game. No other game has come close to providing me with an overall sense of satisfaction and fun since Paragon City closed its gates for good... or so it seemed that way. Sufficed to say I'm glad its back, and I'm pleased to have re-rolled my main and roam the streets of Paragon City again. I've reconnected with my old clan-mates from Liberty server (much with the assistance of social media), and we're playing together again. It's been amazing.
  17. My favourite memory was the NCSoft Community Managers encouraging player feedback. The devs would also frequent the CoH forums and ask for feedback (they knew how to handle the neckbeards too). When a call was put out (shortly after the Badge system was introduced) for a title and description for the "200 badges collected" achievement/badge. Yours truly came up with the Trailblazer (title and description). I'm going to be working hard to earn that badge again.
