How does this work for powers like Ice Storm / Blizzard. Do I put the base damage as the damage each tick does, or the total for the duration of the power?

As title states, when using Shadow Meld, weapons completely disappear. I usually use visual indication of my character to judge when an attack starts to queue up the next ability. Not being able to see what's going on makes it a chore of staring at my tool bar, rather than at the action going on. If this isn't a bug, can we get an option of disabling the effect through power customization?
