They get fury benefits but have 400% damage cap and use your AT multiplier. With just fury and enhancements you are almost there already and at that point only the AT modifier matters. Tanker will hit harder than Brute with them when buffed kinda funny/sad. Really should be reworked.
  2. So I wanted to roll an electric melee character, wasn't sure which AT I was going to pick but was leaning towards a brute but after looking at the mechanics on lightning rod I feel like brute is the worst AT for ELM. Scrapper can have the most raw damage output with it, Stalker can hit without breaking hidden and also gets AS to help with EM to give it a single target damage so you would pick Brute for what? More durability? Well no because at that point you would pick Tanker which weirdly enough will also hit harder with Lightning Rod than a Brute will and also gets benefit of bigger AOE on Thunderstrike. What I am asking here is am I missing something or is there no reason to pick Electric melee on a brute and does this seem like something that should get changed?
  3. To be clear I don't want to get rid of the power having downsides. My issue is this downside specifically is like some nasty speed bump effect to the gameplay and makes the set feel terrible to play.
  4. What if it lasted 12 minutes and had a 60 second crash period? Would that bother you then? Something about it just feels bad to me. I don't really care if it becomes a toggle, can't be stacked, made weaker, the damage penalty reduced to something lower like -80% but lasts longer whatever I have seen many suggestions and prefer all of them to how it is now. Something about that -9999% for 10 seconds goes right up my anus and I hate it.
  5. I like this the most but I think at end of the day it isn't going to make sense it was just more important to have a fire armor set for game play diversity. I guess me using that it doesn't thematically make sense for it to buff your tohit isn't really a valid reason because you can make most things make sense if you try hard enough and it doesn't matter if they don't fully anyways like with fire armor. I still think the core design with rage is broken. It's not like with other sets you can try to build around their weakness you just take a set about slam then ask people not to slam for 10 seconds. I know people say they use judgement or whatever but is that really when you should be using it? or are you just further crippling yourself by using it at a poor time to feel like you are not just sitting there for 10 seconds?
  6. That's interesting and does help me understand why certain sets that seem like they would be resistance they made defense like stone armor. I guess the logic would be that even though it damages the rock it doesn't damage you so you take no damage. If they were using that logic what about something like fire armor? Shouldn't they have considered that defense because it's melting the bullets or whatever before it reaches your skin? Kinda strange. Still though to me it's more clean to say that something is deflected as resistance approaches 100% and just make the defense stat about avoidance.
  7. I would assume it's just because they wanted to put an endurance debuff as an effect and electricity has the theme of power, energy. In it's positive form it gives energy and so it makes sense for it's negative to take it. Personally I like electric in games to have an arc effect because I think it's cool and it's kind of like an AoE but different enough to justify it as it's own thing. Way to late to try to change something like that for this game I think though.
  8. Rage never made sense from a thematics stand point and it's current form doesn't make sense from a game design stand point. Thematically going into a rage you picture what? You hit harder or faster maybe both. You don't associate going into a rage with becoming more accurate. The power was clearly just designed in a lazy way and it just inherited that quality because build up has it not because it was a good idea. As for game design this is where it really just fails as a power completely. The 10 second damage floor crash is awful game design and I'm not talking about balance it's just fully broken from a game design standpoint to have these periods where you can't even use your powerset and at best you can use gimmicks or try to find some random power to use during that window (which you probably don't even need to be using you are just doing it to feel like you are doing something). It's completely boring and just bad design from a foundational level, even the way they implemented it is janky. "how do we do this so they can't just buff the damage to get around the crash?" "just give them -99999% damage that will do it" You could design it like an offensive version of strength of will from willpower set or you could make it a toggle and instead of focusing on a buff period then a crash period design it so it's both a positive and negative to have it toggled on. For example it buffs damage and recharge but lowers tohit and increases endurance costs. I don't really care just please the 10 pauses have to go.
  9. Stop telling him how sorry you are for his experience. You are the reason people act like he does by giving him what he wants despite him clearly being ridiculous. You are not being nice you only create problems.
