  1. I've been playing without problems for weeks. Now, suddenly, whenever I start in 32 or 64 bit mode, I get a black (full) screen and a spinning (busy) cursor. I can start in safe mode and play. I have a EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 SC Ultra GAMING graphics card and I have updated to the most recent (10/29/19) drivers. The issue seemed to start when I dual-boxed with the game being in full screen on each of my 2 monitors. For that reason, I suspect it is graphics related, but I cannot be certain of that.
  2. I'm running a WM/WP Brute right now, too, from a Praetorian start. I'm enjoying him through 22 levels. I haven't done much with my BS scrapper, but I did talk a friend into a BS stalker and he likes it. I won't go stalker with my BS character because I would loose the visuals on my patriotic-themed character. It is a sub-optimal choice for BS, I have come to realize, but not every character choice has to be optimized.

  4. Yes, I recently took it when I rolled my first stalker - Savage/inv. Still a lowbie, but seems good.
  5. Hmmm...what about as a Brute? This is a concept toon that is meant to be visible, so I'm not sure about Stalker. I did finally break down and make a stalker, though, since nuStalkers are a thing. (I've never been a big fan.) I'm satisfied with this character being a content player and not an endgame hustler, so BS is probably exactly what I thought it was before starting this thread - adequate. I suspect there is not a huge difference between Scrapper and Brute versions, though.
  6. Well, I rolled a BS/Inv. I mainly wanted the force sword visual which I tinted to resemble a torch of liberty (patriotic themed toon). We'll see how it goes!

  10. Okay, I previously saw instructions to boost an individual enhancement, you right click on it and hit + up to 5 times. I simply cannot get this to work. Does anyone have any idea what I may be doing wrong?
  11. Everything you say is perfectly reasonable, I just can't fathom playing melee without combat jumping - I reposition constantly to maximize my melee cones. I am beginning to think you my be a sociopath... (I kid, I kid.)
  12. Duh. I was thinking Fiery aura, not fire melee. I had a long day yesterday. I guess it doesn't matter at all what the late powers are if low and mid level TFs are the sole purpose. Go nuts with travel pools!
  13. I run tough, weave, maneuvers, and assault. I have 25-30% defenses and 65% s/l resists, and that much mitigation helps. Now, you probably have to take and slot more fire attacks than I do with claws, but still...what else would you take? Medicine is a waste. Stealth is pointless with an aura. Sorcery could be cool for theme, maybe. But scrappers are meant for melee, so fighting pool seems to fit.

  18. True, but with a def-based character, you are bound to have a spare moment here and there. So far I'm liking ninjitsu better than shield. I have not leveled an invuln scrapper this time around, yet. Are we sure aid self can be interrupted? It used to be true, but Mids says aid other can be, but omits that language for aid self. I have not been interrupted yet, but I also haven't tried real hard to test it.
  19. Another big difference is the lack of a built-in self heal for shield. You can take the medicine pool, but you have to take another pool power before taking aid self. Plus, aid self is a smaller heal and does not add hit points. Aid self has faster recharge, but you have to take two powers to get it. Pick your poison. Also, parry will increase your lethal/melee defense, but with shield you will already be at the soft cap under normal conditions. Broadsword is maybe not a synergistic with shield as it in invuln, is what I guess I am saying. But sometimes, theme rules the day!
  20. 5 attacks total with the 4th taken at level 26, so 3 attacks taken in the first 25 levels (not a leveling build, but a final build). Follow-up is an attack, but you may not be counting it since it also has build-up functionality. With decent recharge, a claws scrapper can spam follow-up and the two biggest hitters - focus and eviscerate - over and over. I use shockwave situationally and seldom use strike at all.

  22. I've tried to become more active on the AT forums - here is my build. This is a prospective build for me, meaning I have not playtested it yet, as such. It is a remake of my OG character who was dark/SR. I did two prospective build to see if I wanted to go SR or willpower this time, and I have chosen WP. I had a WP tank and two DM mains in the old days, so I do have experience slotting these, especially DM, but YMMV. This buld is a bit of an experiment for me with crosspunch thrown in for the additional recharge, but I am not married to that idea. you could easily drop boxing and crosspunch and pick resurgence and strength of will and move some slots around.
