That doesn't sound very fun. Fun would be to start vector knocking squatters into oblivion, then having them drop into the pool. Now it's a pool party, and pool parties are fun.

    200w.gif.5f41142506182eb4b709d15adf278880.gif Do it!!

Another thought I've had is why not set up a few different "in gates" that a player can randomly pop in to, spread out around the place?

Folks that run this stuff, at least the best stuff maybe should be rewarded similarly...merits/aether/temp powers/ whatever.....

Don't we already have enough ways to be given stuff?  This is essentially a form of power creep, "reward creep" i suppose.

An aside: why did they stop giving Dev Choices, HoFs etc.?  I got lucky and got one during that last round for Christmas stories but yeah, that like 2022.  And let me tell you, those gold stars lead a lot of people to play them; I think my current only gold-starred arc broke 200 plays recently, while my other arcs haven't cracked double digits yet (iirc).

I never said I was bored.  I said it's wasting everyone's time, and that other people have said it's boring.  I recruit in LFG when I do GM Hunts, and people demonstratably show less interest in Lusca than in other GMs.  They know it's going to take longer, and they know the hunt involves at least 8 periods of waiting around for no reason: so they just don't show up.  Fast fights like Adamastor (and basically every other GM) fill with 3x as many interested players as Lusca does.

There's also the hangover effect where many people skipped it past the initial badge-getting, because they didn't think it rewarded enough.  That's been changed now, give people a chance to catch up!

I say this thinking of the person I was in a league with that was taking down the Croatoa pair of GMs shortly after the update who told me that he knew that oh no, they haven't made any changes to them.  People sometimes don't pay attention...

  4. A large number of my toons would probably be hanging out in Croatoa (or the new Striga I suppose... or maybe the woods up near Cap au Diable???) being all magically mysterious supernatural contacts or something.  Come to think of it, like my base, they'd probably have a cave you'd go see them in for whatever reason.

This waiting period occurs 8 times during the fight, and each time it happens: people get bored and tired of waiting.  The actual forced delay of completely non-interactive non-gameplay is about 20 seconds each time.

Uh... I'm not sure how to say this that won't probably annoy you, but... if that's all it takes to bore you, well...

    • Fixed an issue where players afflicted with the Mutation: Devolution effect from the Secondary Mutation power could get stuck as a monkey for 33 minutes and 20 seconds if they crossed to a different zone before the effect wore off.

All the better to spoil your next Posi 1 with!

Any AT can solo, at least once their build gets good.

Point of order: any AT, minus a few super-weak Defenders, can solo just fine - just not at the levels assumed to be de rigueur these days, +4/+8.  Seriously, even those squishie Defenders can manage it, you just have to keep your expectations out of the crazy realm.  I know patience is tough for some people though.  😃

I like Doms a heck of a lot and would recommend them - and note that their Ice Control has a confuse aura which is also a lot of fun, so you might stretch the definition a bit... but that's more melee, which sounds like might not be what you want.

  8. I've started and led ToT leagues during the season, and DFB, but when it comes to other stuff, I have a problem gauging difficulty levels for the team.  I believe Ive had a few failures in this realm which is why I'm gunshy to do it again, but I can't recall for sure.  I know I've seen more than one team where we get invited, leader says "I'll set it higher after this one" and then like 2 impatient nellies waltz the second it's over because it was "too low."  I mean, I don't want to play with those types anyway, but it's discouraging.

it’s also incredibly boring in my opinion - it’s the pinnacle of uninspiring button mashing

Nah, that's farming: you set up cardboard figures on a space map to walk around and then fall over with how awesome you are when they see you, with zero chances of being touched.  MSR is a mad dash around a (well vaguely) dangerous map with a whole group of your friends and acquaintances, play a game of NO ME trying to set the bombs, then spend a bit of time trying to help drag targets into the bowl, healing your teammates for badges, directing pets, rezzing and teleporting defeated players (people can and do die on an MSR).  And then you get to gather up to go blow up a circling space ship!

Seriously though, there's something that's just great to me in being in a full league of folks who're all roughly focused on doing one task.

The first map is the huge outdoor Croatoa fairyland map, wherein we are tasking with finding the king and two villiagers; the former has a glowy aura making him easy to spot, the latter did not. I find the king and one hostage, spend ten minutes looking for the other, then give up and log into Champions. (haha I'm kidding, no one plays that. at all.)

Yeah, I've often tried to have a good reason for them to have a big aura or maybe one of the Held positions where they float off the ground in a big green haze, to make them easier to spot from a distance.  Or the foes surrounding them.

I saw 3 different MSR yesterday on Exel. One in the morning , afternoon and evening.

Yeah, instanced.  I've done any number of MSRs and, unfortunately, missed any number as well due to my play time schedule.  I know we still run them.

I already have two Water/Poison corruptors, but I'm DYING to make Instant Jellyfish now.

I'd be happy to steal the idea, but I just can't with Water, I've tried twice and maybe it was just bad luck or something (sometimes toons just don't "click"), but the look of the set just doesn't work for me.

  13. I'm... not sure what you're saying here exactly, does that make me elitist?

But this does raise a question I've been wondering: I don't think I've seen or been on an instanced MSR since I left Indom, and there weren't many there either back like 2 years ago.  Seriously, none, not on Excel when I play anyway.  How many people actually do them (OP aside, obvs. =)?
