  1. It appears I have ZIPs of most if not all of the mods that CoHModder could install from 8/27/22. If someone wants to host/convert them for this new tool would like them, and can provide a landing space, feel free to contact me.
  2. I think it's because there is no widely-agreed upon term as we've seen from this thread. Personally I've only ever heard it really used in a context of a quick snap judgement prior to actually meeting, interacting, and getting to know someone. (Note my own avatar totally qualifies, and saying this costume is an homage to her patron Ghost Widow doesn't help her case!) It's an initial impression that is probably totally off the mark, especially, for roleplayers. If that snap-judgement is all that there is to a character though, then perhaps it's fitting.
  3. Pretty much what @Optimum_Man says in an RP context. I first heard the term applied in Warframe in reference to a frame that was primarily black with red highlights, causing it to be evocative of a 90's anti-hero outfit. Usually that was accompanied with talk of the use of a meta-build and weapons. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing, but did have some slight negative connotations until we could see them in action. But then my group also wasn't all that concerned if you even attempted to shoot the enemies, it was just a way to prepare ourselves to need to do a carry.
  4. I've never read the Elric stuff, only encountered him through copy-cats. They were all much worse than Arthas, and my opinion of his story isn't very high. If the source isn't edgy then it's just more evidence that it is all about presentation.
  5. Aw 📸 times ten! Sounds fun, even if I have nothing else to tag.
  6. Oh wow, that is even more amazing than I expected! Thank you so much!
  7. 1) Ignorance - They just don't realize the vendor would give them more 2) Convenience - One can do /ah outside any mission map or base while the vendor is waaaay over there 3) Apathy - Some of us have hundreds of millions or billions of influence so it's a drop in the bucket When (2) and (3) outweigh (1) it's real easy. The plus side is that makes for some cheap buys for bargain hunters to make their wealth.
  8. I'm pretty sure (1) and (2) are the primary factors. While the others could play a role, I'd wager half my funds they are an order of magnitude less and a blip in the grand scheme of things. For every one of us that likes to play in the market, there are dozens that just want to buy an IO and get on with punching things.
  9. I love how you're doing these in different fonts. These all look amazing!
  10. I would go with a decrease in demand. There are still a ton of people playing, and of course we still make alts, but both are going to decline over time now that we're past the "OMG CoH is back!!!" period. That's not to say activity is light since we see product moving all the time, just probably not at its peak, so people aren't buying the expensive IOs, then having to buy the super expensive IOs, then moving on to the I'm mortgaging the SG base level of expensive IOs because that's all that's available.
  11. Doctored Wounds is another good one at 41. While these don't generally go for as much as resist or defense sets, they're still a solid money maker if you're looking to diversify your recipes.
  12. The lowest effort that I can think of that will easily net you that amount is put in 4 million bids on the purple snipe set. Convert those to another PvP set (Health, Defense or Armor are guaranteed sellers). Sell for 7 million if you want near instant profit. Sell for 8 million if you can wait a day. Do two of those a week and done. There are a ton of ways, but this requires nothing but the initial investment in the IO, a few converters, and the inf to post it on the market. You could bid lower if you don't mind waiting, or even pick some of the other PvP sets for diversity. And sell higher for the same. But I do this on pretty much all characters so when I log into them I have a guaranteed profit waiting my return. It's not my primary money maker, but it certainly adds up, and takes just a few minutes when I do log into the neglected characters.
  13. If it is only affecting melanin super-fix would likely just turn one a bright brown. If however they produce new pigments that are seen in other animals all sorts of fun could happen. Reptiles for instance have three or four depending upon the species: xanthophores - yellow erythrophore - red melanophore - brown iridophore - reflects light, giving a 'white' or iridescent sheen Note that various concentrations, cell structures, and physiological factors can alter the colors we see. These are just the basic color from the raw pigment in most species. Green in reptiles is usually blue light being reflected off a yellow pigment, for example. Mammals only produce melanophores and you can see the wide variety of colors in mammals, though tans and browns are the most frequent, with black just being super-saturated melanin. So it could be Supradine generates xanthophores while Fixadine generates erythrophores and if you take both you end up with cool patterns! Or boring brown because you over-saturated your body and the pigments aren't concentrated to any specific area.
  14. Yeah, I don't like the black and white outlook either. Most of my 'villains' are selfish and have goals or methods that may not be considered socially acceptable by portions of the populace, but they aren't Snidely Whiplash, either. My main does just fine hanging out in a club or chatting it up in a pub. She doesn't assault people for no reason at all. That's something I like about my current RP group--I'm not even sure who is a hero or villain. It's just a bunch of people doing their thing, some more kindly than others.
  15. Haha! They paid me 16 mil for another IO in the set. 😄
  16. My answer is to pull out a lawn chair, a drink with a little umbrella, and send them after the bad guys. "You got this? Great, I'll watch. Ice, get that straggler." Though I'm a Mastermind, so I kind of already do that.
  17. Definitely a good idea to talk it out beforehand if you're dealing with people who you don't regularly RP on the side with. Even with my newfound group it's all been social, so I have no idea about how they rank their power levels. As for incarnates, I ignore that aspect even though several of my characters are. I leave it at my character has more or less mastered their abilities and has spent enough time in the trenches. I know why the incarnate system exists, and it's fun, but it doesn't really jive with where I want any of my characters to actually end up. I do work enhancement procs into their story as little technological/magical/secondary mutations to their powers.
  18. Actually it is great advice. I have zero problem with spontaneous contact... if someone else is doing it. Unfortunately I freeze up at attempting it with others. I think there's a lot of other socially awkward people out there with the same issue. It took three months of attending Penny Palace before I made my first real connection, and they started the conversation! (But BaRP turned into a more regular RP night with a bunch of people I already adore, so yay for sticking with it!)
  19. I found that, but it just looks like rules. Maybe I'm blind and skimming to fast (one of those ADHD days). Shouldn't the first or second paragraph list the channels and something like: /joinchat RP-IS-AWESOME I need my hand held!😄
  20. Despite being in tech, I can be clueless about social stuff (like chat channels). I'm sure I'm not alone. Are these channels and a clear step-by-step on how to join listed in the RP board? The post we have seems to be dealing with board posts instead of in-game channels. Seems like prime sticky material that would help towards the goal of people finding one another.
  21. I have to agree with jkwak I'd prefer something in-game, but of course that would take development time. These boards are a reasonable second but aren't really designed to make it all that feasible for players to find one another, and what percentage of the players come here? A third party site could be designed specifically for the purpose, but it needs a designer, a maintainer, and enough critical mass to make it worthwhile so I don't see that going anywhere. The official Discord is another alternative? I've never even thought about going there myself to know what is or isn't present. As the other thread shows there is resistance and/or ambivalence to the idea, and probably more likely to be used by smaller groups once they have established contact. I do walk around with my RP tag up. Maybe additional tag types and colors would be an easy to implement thing that allows for an in-game solution? Actually an RP tab would rock if we could have a couple of fields to expand on our types and preferences, especially if it was searchable.
