  1. Today someone mentioned that the 3rd of three bosses was found, after the event being stuck for multiple days, by a random passing player standing "on empty air" above the zig, After defeating that mob, the event completed successfully. It does seem as though 1 or more of the mobs occasionally either spawn way out of position, or fall through the map and bounce to a not-very-close location, or possibly just do a fear-run too far away from the spawn point to be easily found.
  2. The coordinates provided by Kaizensoze and ThothMerkaba are probably the fastest way to collect them While looking, be aware that only the special named NPCs count. You can usually spot them by the glowing fire/energy aura on their heads, and they have quirky names like "Electric Eddie", "Sizzling sid", or similar, if I recall correctly. Here's an old map from the "where to hunt" thread that shows some of the spawn points with approximate coordinates. They are not all at ground level. A couple are up on an electric tower, under a partially destroyed building, on a rooftop, etc, but you will probably semi-memorize the spots after doing a few loops around the map.
  3. Unless you have already used all your slots, it might be worth hanging onto that alt in case those sets get improved or changed. I think you can convert vanguard merits to regular merits then buy converters, Super insps(?) or other stuff. Then sell or email those things. (EDIT: oh yeah, like Etched said, you can convert 50 reward merits to a hero merit then email it to your global) I think the general consensus is converters but there might be one or two other things that are slightly better but maybe less efficient in terms of Auction house wait time... Yeah a free respec for sure if you have your heart set on stripping. But I think people generally do not delete. If you just don't want to look at it, move it a few pages deeper in your character list.
  4. and yes I know that half the league will be AFK masterminds!
  5. Keep in mind that when Snarkoween rolls back around you can pretty quickly earn 10 prismatics on each alt that does not already have the 5 newest halloween defeat badges (2 for each badge). It can get repetitive, but its probably the fastest way to rack up a bat-load of Prismatics. Assuming that the event rewards will work the same as last year, you can earn progress toward the badges at any level but the badges and prismatics unlock at level 25.
  6. If you like seemingly impossible base building in CoH... you might like seemingly impossible DOOM mod: If the 1 hour 42 minute walkthrough isn't long enough for you, there's a 4 hour version too. May include: a good dog backrooms liminal spaces house of leaves I got sucked in, but that doesn't mean you will. Don't get sucked in.
  7. Whoops yeah. that's it. Reset mission and problem persists. I chose the Hero dialog on mission 2 and the rogue dialog on mission 3 in case that might be a factor.
  8. Upon attempting to log out to the character selection screen to reset the mission, I received the error message that "Badge buddy is still logging out" and I was forced to the login screen. From there I received the error "This account is already logged in". I was able to successfully log back into this character on the third try. I re-ran the mission with the same result. Note: in mission 2 I chose the hero dialog option and in mission 3 I chose the rogue dialog option. Not sure if that is a factor. ((edit: ran the whole thing from the start 2 more times with slightly different selections but always "hero" in mission 3 and the result was the same.))
  9. Mission 8: (ROGUE) Riots in Talos! I seem to be stuck in this mission as well. The game tells me that Alexander has been recovered, and I assume he's supposed to say something like "lets go to the roof!" and then follow me. However, Alexander and Aegialeus both con blue, and will not speak to me or follow me. I am not currently using stealth or invisibility. I have cleared the entire building except for those two NPCs. The door to the roof does not show as a waypoint, but I found it and it dumped me out on the beach near the newish beach cafe in Talos. I was not able to re-enter the mission through that door, so I returned to the contact in IP and re-entered the mission, but the problem remains. I'll try resetting the mission.
  10. ((EDIT: known bug in Riots in Talos mission, mentioned by GM impervium in bugs forum, seems to have been fixed in May 26th 2023 patch )) I seem to be unable to complete the Riots in Talos mission. Alexander and Aegialeus both con blue, and will not speak to me or follow me so the mission cannot be completed. (Reset mission and re started the arc twice.)
  11. Thanks for the great guide! A note for possible inclusion in the guide: The Noble Intentions story arc is arc 27.06, Rogue alignment, in the 40-44 level range in Ouroborus. =:Psibug
  12. Now that I have learned those slash commands, who knows what vital memories have been lost to the cornfield...
  13. You appear to be using Tequila. Consider switching from tequila to the homecoming launcher. LINK: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/installation-guide/ I believe there is also a new error reporting version or add-on available. I have not found a link... did I dream it? This may not be related, but Windows has recently been delivering new updates (the latest win 10 and Win 11) that have higher system requirements and may cause some computers to grind almost to a halt with repeated failed attempts to download and update. I'm not sure if it would cause your crash but it did prevent CoH from starting on one of my machines during the daily failed attempt to update Windows. After I postponed Windows updates for a week, CoH loaded successfully.
  14. Among competitive hotdog eaters, Fear of Mustard Overload.
  15. I believe that I have experienced that scenario and I was able to regain access to the name by exiting the character creator or restarting the game. If there is a timer at play, I doubt that it would be more than 10 minutes.
  16. I thought, as GM-Crumpet (may have) implied above, that the timers would all be reset when the name release policy went from warning mode to "live". However that does not seem to be what the GMs in this previous thread were stating. I re-read the GM posts in the first two pages, and they seem to suggest that players will be able to access red flagged names on the day the policy goes live. It is a looong thread though so maybe there is a clarification deeper in that thread or a related thread. Either way seems acceptable in my opinion. The warning period has been pretty lengthy.
  17. !!!! ... oh! Phew, for a moment I thought it was and INSANE imaginary deceased turtle
  18. Thank you for letting us know. We will be including this information in our next report. Please keep us in the loop on any future changes. Love, Nana and Bubu
  19. Swanky, if the above thread does not provide a working solution for you, a screenshot of your problem might help other users recognize the symptom and recommend a solution.
  20. Confirming the above discussions for getting the Invader badge, here is a way a team leader with the correct contact can quickly help one or multiple teammates to get the Invader badge and the associated stat increase: On a character who had Lord Schweinzer as a contact, I selected the first (Atlas) Mayhem Mission. My teammate entered the mission, got the exploration badge, and exited the mission via whatever truck or manhole was marked as the mission exit. (No attempt was made to add more time to the mission timer.) Then I used the mission window to select a different mission and abandon the mayhem mission. Then I spoke with Lord Schweinzer and was prompted again to abandon the current mission, which I did, and then I was allowed to select the next Mayhem Mission. We repeated the process with each subsequent Mayhem Mission until they were all done, and the teammate received the Invader badge. It is recommended to have vidiotmaps for badge location, the reveal power from the pay2win vendor to reveal any maps that are covered by the fog of war, and Villain or Rogue alignment to qualify for the badge. Make sure anyone working toward the badge sees the notification as each exploration badge is awarded before moving to the next one. As mentioned in previous posts, if you are awarded a mission location that is far across the map, you can abandon it and possibly reacquire the mission at a closer map location. =:PsiBug
  21. Yes, it appears that you have to wait out the timer after winning the zone event. Additional notes: 1) Logging off or alting will clear any points that you have accumulated. 2) turrets are 25 points each and converting a pillbox is 50 points. 3) when 6 pillboxes have been claimed for either alignment, the zone is "won" and no additional points will be awarded until the zone is reset. For this badge, do not take over the 6th pillbox until you have accumulated 1000 (or at least 950) points 4) If some pillboxes have already been taken when you enter the zone, there may not be 1000 points remaining to claim, but you do not have to reset the zone and start over. 5) if you know that there are insufficient available points for you to reach 1000, you can use a second account to convert an already won pillbox to the opposing alignment and then use your badging character to re-defeat it, multiple times if necessary, to accumulate more points. =:Psibug
  22. Currently, I believe you can have a maximum of 5 tokens, and they refresh every three days. source: (a GM comment in the following thread)

Instantly change your difficulty settings! Click the little text balloon icon in the lower right corner of your chat window, and then select "change notoriety". There are four notoriety settings you can adjust. The new settings will go into effect for the next mission you select/enter. (Missions that were started before you changed notoriety will need to be reset, and a few cannot be reset or have unchangeable settings.) Having trouble locating that last hostage or named boss by endlessly pressing the Tab key? Here is a simple bit of code to help you easily target a specific friend or foe (and you can change your target quickly and easily). Copy and paste the following into the typing field of your chat window: /macro FIND beginchat /bind g targetcustomnext That code is called a macro and it will place a clickable icon, titled "FIND", in your power tray (you can move it to a power tray slot of your choice). When you click the "FIND" icon, it will populate your chat window typing field with "targetcustomnext ", then just add a name or partial name of whatever you are trying to target. For example, if you want to target Frostfire, add all or part of his name so that it says "targetcustomnext frostfire" or "targetcustomnext frostf" etc, then press the Enter key to send it to your chat window. After you do that, pressing the "g" key will target Frostfire, and ignore everyone else, if he is anywhere in your eyeline. Excellent for spotting the last hostage, a named boss, cyst crystals, or anyone in pocket D with the word "dark" in their name. Want a new target? click FIND icon again and type in your next friend or foe name. (NOTE: you can replace the letter "g" in the macro with any other keyboard key that you prefer, and there are many fancier bits of code you can add to target multiple names, only live foes, nearest, etc. Check out macro threads for much more advanced macros. any time you want to change your target to a new one, click the FIND icon and type in your search word.) Are your power icons moving when you don't want them to, or are they stuck in place? Right-click any empty power tray slot and use the lock/unlock options to set your preference. =:Psibug
