  1. Yeah, it's both a wonderful and terrible thing that, 19 hours after Cipher's post, I cannot pitch in to help because donations are closed. I do so appreciate the community here!
  2. I started in the beta, but stopped playing sometime around 2010 maybe? After CoV, after AE, before 2012. My first kid was born in 2008 so everything's a blur after that. Two things that stick in my mind: Everything was slower in those first years. Literally, because you couldn't get your travel power as early, and also progress-wise. I don't think Patrol XP existed even, so getting a character up to 20 and beyond was truly work. This is pretty normal in my experience with MMOs, before they get tuned appropriately, but it means that the MAJORITY of my memories from that time are lower level content. The second was brought up already, but it's HERDING, before the max aggro limit. I remember our team of 8 Rad/Rad defenders herding up whole maps with Enervating Field and Radiation Infection, stacking all those debuffs on hundreds of mobs before wiping them out (much like Vortex + Archons for any Starcraft players out there). It was just really satisfying.
  3. Between the individual shields and Dispersion Bubble, I think the total (enhanced) defense difference between +28% (for corrupters) and 40% (for defenders) is significant. Of course, it's true that this question really comes down to what you want to play, from from a "is it worth it to lose the damage output" perspective, my Rad Tank would say "yes yes!" It's also worth plugging The Force Fielder's Bible, to remind everyone that FF can do more than just bubble, and all of those powers are also more impactful when being run by a defender.
  4. First of all -- a bad PUG is super frustrating because of the time it wastes. No-one wants to play a fun game and have it not be fun! Slightly related, I do want to put a good word in for the kill-all or kill-most philosophy. I don't care as much about the XP as I do about the combat, which is what keeps me playing this game. Aggro management, intelligent debuts, etc; the dynamics of combat are what I'm looking for and so I prefer to push through than to rush around. That all being said, having conversation about goals and strategies is critical.
  5. Thanks for the data, everyone! Now to find enough fools who want to do all the content, like me. 🙂
  6. Do folks ever do "The Seed of Hamidon" zone event in First Ward? I just recently played a solo-mode character through as much of the First Ward and Night Ward content as I could catch, as I left Live before Going Rogue happened, and it made me wonder about that zone event. I never see folks talking about it in any of the usual chat channels, like I do with GMs or real Hami raids. Maybe it's just too much work for the small reward?
  7. OK, this is probably a dumb question, but that's what forums are for, right??? I've read lots of places that enhancements with a proc, put into an auto power, just give the bonus all of the time. Can that really be true? Take the Numina +Regen/+Recovery proc, which is supposed to last for 120 seconds. It seems too good to be true that putting it into an auto power means you just get that bonus all of the time. Am I being too skeptical?
  8. OK, Supertanker, I'll bite. Why is Unbreakable Guard the best set for Invuln?
