  1. Oops, could've sworn it wasn't a necro. I thought that I bumped into this thread by just looking through the first page, but apparently I got linked to it and forgot about it. Sorry. Anyway, I personally see little issue with adding some Origin-themed story arks, or even just specific quests. It's just more content.
  2. I am honestly kind of surprised to see such a vehement reaction to a simple, straightforward suggestion of "more content". I can understand that people do not want to lock this content to specific origin, so as to not limit the availability of content to only some people, but the intensity of the reaction is what's surprising. I think it would make more sense to not lock these story arks to certain origins, but instead just mark them as such? Or just make more missions that concentrate on some specific style or theme.
  3. Rather than rewriting, I would personally appreciate potential alternate routes unrelated to the other option. Perhaps something that would go in parallel with the Hearts of Darkness line, as that one seems to have the most issues with assuming the player character is a brute? Just something else to do in that level period. On the other hand, that part is relatively easily skippable due to other options, so that might just be personal bias.
  4. My personal issue with Redside is less that it forces you into being the Henchman, and more that a lot of the dialogue options make your character sound like an idiot. Maybe it's just that I recently completed Hearts of Darkness so that perception got stuck, but it really, really irks me. It's a similar problem I have with Skyrim and a lot of Skyrim mods, in that they almost always expect that you're going to be playing the bashy smashy Proud Nord who is incompetent at magic, and all the dialogue is designed to reflect that, even though I usually end up playing characters who actually end up deserving the title of Archmage. Same here. The dialogue in a lot of the missions just makes your character sound dumb, regardless of the actual concept, to the point that I can't even use my imagination to come up with something more fitting for the character most of the time, because both the contact responses and the consequent actions also make you look dumb.
  5. Whenever I'm bored and have no other inspiration, I inevitably end up making a variation on the Evil Overlord from the Overlord series of games. And over half of them are female for some reason.
  6. One of my friends made an undead magician whose head got lopped off in her backstory, and is leaking spirits everywhere. And this phrase kicked both of us in the shins.
  7. Honestly speaking, I think that a better example would be something like Kamen Rider, since by now it has about nineteen years' worth of characters who deal almost exclusively in various specialized forms. On one hand, I like the concept of this archetype, purely because I like Kamen Rider and the idea of playing as a proper Kamen Rider-inspired character, form changes and all. It's just appealing to my sensibilities. On the other hand, I feel like this would be a bit of an annoyance to code, for what is basically a really quick character-switch option.
  8. I'm a tad short on money due to being a poor Russian student so I can't donate, but I guess I'll jump in and give a personal opinion on something. I'd say that XenForo is the better option for forum software, purely from experience. Judging by what I see on SufficientVelocity and SpaceBattles, the software is not only well-ish designed, but has a few features that I'd never really seen on most other forum engines, such as the Alerts feature.
