Hi All, So, it has taken me a long time to post this and I know the file is an older version of MIDS (still loads fine in the latest version), but I wanted to take a moment to finally share my S/L farming Mastermind build. This is some of the best MM farming fun I've had, for sure. It's a very active play style, but very powerful. I highly recommend trying it out.   2. Tried reinstalling. Does not help. Also, this is a modern M1 Mac with 16Gb of RAM. Hope this helps. Thanks for any and all help.
  3. So, I took about 4-6 months off from the game and am trying to come back. As a Mac user, I never had problems before, but now I am running into problems. So, when I try to launch the game, it does not launch. I found if I go into my coh folder and run "HC Launcher.lnk" manually, the game will launch just fine, but it runs slowly. My question is what do I do? What happened to the regular launcher and how do I fix my performance issues? Thanks for any and all help!
  4. Occasionally, there is a small gap, but there are also several FF procs to consider + hasten. I just checked again and they still usually overlap. Although, it is important to consider that barrier's effectiveness does weaken. So, by the time you can unleash potential again, your defense may be around 38%. Honestly, the build is so strong, you won't notice these small gaps. Hope this helps!
  5. While I am beginning to share builds (just got MIDS on a new laptop), I wanted to share a build I have been running for a while. I cannot take complete credit for this as this is a heavily modified version of a build that @Doomrider helped me with some time ago. Again, I owe him a world of thanks for opening my mind up to what was possible! Of course, I took what he taught me and ran with it. The reason I even did this to begin with is because Kheldians are my favorite AT in the game and I became obsessed with seeing if I could effectively farm with one. I was told by many: "LOL PB!". Yet, I set out to silence the naysayers. It is not just about farming, but farming efficiently. This is the true challenge of any non-Brute. This build focuses on cycling between all three forms, but mostly Nova and Human forms, for maximum damage and to minimize cool-downs and maximize end regen. Additionally, the build focuses on cycling between two powers for achieving consistent Defense caps: 1. Unleash Potential 2. Barrier Core Epiphany. By cycling between each of these when the other is on CD, the build maintains a constant S/L Def of 45+%. This build is also very effective in group content, so it really is a catch-all build.   6. S/L farming. The only draw-back I have found with this style farming is that the groups need to be spread out. So, this build is good for city farms or the like. The play style requires the MM to get "in the mix" so it is quite different than hover farm builds out there.
  7. Greetings all! This has been a long time coming, but I finally wanted to post my famous/infamous build for my toon: Crime Boss (Everlasting Server). He is a Thugs/Poison MM that is very effective at running +4/8 Farms w/ EB's and I wanted to share the build because, well, I love the character, I feel he is powerful and unique, and I think it may help others trying to farm with Masterminds. First off, I must say that this was not at all planned. When I first rolled this toon, I had no intention of farming. I didn't even think it was possible. This all happened by accident! I rolled this combo for thematic purposes and one day decided to try a farm, on a whim. I was surprised how effective it was and then began the tweaking process. The toon has become even more powerful as I've made small tweaks over the past year. The second thing that needs to be said is that debuffs are king here. What makes this farming possible at all are the debuffs and specials you apply to the mobs en masse. So, while I have I highest res/def possible, I am also applying massive -hit/slow effects and this makes it all work. Additionally, my build focuses on heavy procs and this makes simple attacks rip through single target runners with ease. So, without further ado, here is the build.   8. A DOT Character. I know there are some AT's that have some DOT powers, but what I am talking about is a build that focus on all DOTs and maybe a blast that gets stronger when the DOTs reach a certain point. Would make for a very fun build/mechanic. A Tendril Character. A multi-arm power-set, similar to Spiders, but with much different options. Give us the ability to have multi-attacks with a multi-arm character. Perhaps, have a mechanic that builds a meter of some kind that allows your arms to get more multi-strikes the more stacks you have. Also, definitely need them to release Water Control and Wind Control.
  9. Yep, that is what is becoming clear to me. So, certain players figured out how to cancel their animations to basically activate more powers than they should have been able to. Strange that I never noticed this personally (or not in a way that affected my play style, at least), but it makes sense why: 1. They fixed it in a patch and 2. Some who actively exploited it are now complaining about it. With my play style, I tend to go for def/res caps rather than trying to out speed the game. So, this may be why I am not noticing this "nerf", or fix, as I would call it. As a matter of fact, I feel buffed. I am able to move, now, while activating many powers that I previously could not. Thanks for the info and specifics, guys. This is very interesting, but fortunately has not affected me negatively in any way.

So, I was in some Trials and iTrials last night and a significant number of people complained incessantly about how they felt "Slow" and "weak" and how they feel the patch made their toon unplayable. When I asked how so, one person said, "Well, I died in the 1st 30 secs of an ITF." I asked how that is that patches fault and they explained that they could normally nuke and move before the enemies could hit them. It seemed through further conversations with said people that these players are power players that have found "exploits" in the previous mechanics of the game and those allowed them to be more powerful than they should be. These are great players, mind you, and I am not intending to badmouth them, but I have not noticed the issues with the patch they claim exist. It was something about "rooting" or animation mechanics. Can someone explain this to me? Is this in their heads or legit? Did my play-style just not get affected by this? I personally feel that my toons are stronger, so far, with this patch. Appreciate any insight.
  11. I know this is an old post at this point, but have been playing around with SM and was looking for posts about it and found found this. But, I can't disagree more with the information you are proving here. Shred is the only power in the set that accepts defense debuff sets, making it a great dps booster. It is also a cone, so you can slot lots of procs in it. I find it to be a great power. The information online is also inaccurate at this point, since the power no longer causes exhaustion. I find Hemorrhage to be a great power against single targets - especially bosses/AV's. The DOT is very strong. Yes, you want to use Rending Furry against groups.

So, I guess to not plan for this in my primary resistance attribute (for example S/L), but it seems that it could really help in PVE content against other damage types. This is very good to know. Unfortunately, MIDS still doesn't work on my Mac, so I have to do this the hard way. 😞
  13. In the tooltips for several Super Reflexes powers, it states that they give increasing resistance as you take damage or something along those lines. Being new to Super Reflexes, can someone explain how this mechanic works and what percentages these resistances are? I am trying to plan things out for caps and such, and it is hard to plan when the power doesn't really tell you. Thanks for any help/advice!

  15. I am wondering this same question. I am looking for a controller that has farm potential. I understand that fire/kin was the OG controller farmer. Is anything else possible? How viable is fire/storm? I have a grav/time controller decked out but it is just a hair too slow to be viable. No problem w/ +4/8 content, it's just slow. Look for something just a hair faster. Not expecting Brute level speed. Any recommendations? If fire/storm is viable that would be nice since I have a toon already, but open to suggestions!
  16. I never find a farm build I agree with, lol... Interesting how people 4+ slot a useless power like boxing and do things like 1 slotting Maneuvers, Tough, and Weave. Will post my build someday when they get MIDS to work on Mac. 😞

  20. From a farmer who runs Thugs all the time, don't agree with this. You WANT to slot procs in your thugs. As a matter of fact, you specifically want to slot Overwhelming Force->KD. I follow none of your slotting advice, honestly... Slotting Achilles and other defense debuffs in your Enforcer? Only if you need it. If I have already debuffed them to oblivion, would much rather put something else there...

  22. Yeah, Comic-con is a not a problem, itself. The issue with Masterminds (and this is an issue with all non-tank farmers) is runners. In all maps, you'll get runners. Problem with many of the Comic-con maps is the runners will aggro neighboring groups and it starts becoming too much to handle. For my farming, I run a special outdoor map (Boomtown). It has fencing and a little more meaty city terrain. What this does, is it gives runners something to run into. Fencing and such helps contain them. If you play on the Everlasting server, please check out my farm map (just type in Crime Boss). It is about a 30 min clear for my MM and that is with EB's and set to hard at +4/8. Once again, to reiterate, Comic-con? Nah. My pets eat mobs alive. Especially, if you bunch them up like that. It's like you are handing me a gift, bwhahahaha.
